Chapter 870: Seventy-Nine Grades

You can't do it! It has to be done in a single thought, and it's not just about the giver.

So if you think you understand the text, it's not considered Dharma, and you haven't understood the meaning in depth.

"No front and no back" is to ask you to break between the front and back.

For example, as soon as I speak, as soon as you hear it, it will be gone, this is the precursor, and what you are going to talk about below has not yet heard, this is the rear.

The previous thought has been extinguished, the second thought is not born, and the body is empty.

This is what the Diamond Sutra says: "The mind was unattainable in the past, the mind is unattainable in the present, and the mind is unattainable in the future." ”

Can you put your own physical and mental troubles and thoughts and delusions, and break them off at once, without front and back, and the present moment is empty?

If it's not empty, how can it not be empty? There is no front and no back, there is no middle! The middle is neither empty nor empty.

If it is empty, the previous thought has passed, and there is no more, and the back thought has not come, and the middle must be empty.

This emptiness is the self-nature that exists.

This existence is not a worldly existence, so only the Dharma is called a supreme and righteous existence.

This is the most basic method of physical and mental practice. To be able to do all the troubles and delusions before and after, without precedence and without rear, thinking about the present moment is the present thought, and when the present thought is pure and empty, it is to make offerings to all sentient beings, and this is called Dharma giving.

Can we do it?

We do a secular study and receive generosity to the smallest extent.

Our body is also a world, and there are many sentient beings on the body, because there are many parasites and bacteria inside the body and on the skin.

Whether the cells in the body are a separate spiritual life or not, with today's science does not dare to conclude that it is not.

If you don't have delusional thoughts between your thoughts, your thoughts before you are empty, your thoughts after you can't think about it, and when your body is empty, you will at least provide for all sentient beings in your body to be pure and happy for a while, and this is also Dharma offering and Dharma almsgiving.

In the past, when we studied Buddhism, we had to bow when we entered and exited the Buddhist hall in our own homes, not only to bow, but also to stand up after the five bodies were thrown to the ground, and to lean on the table with our palms together, and there was a sound, indicating that the forehead touched the feet of the Buddha, which you have not seen.

Of course, I'm natural now, but in my own home, the temple is like this, and it's very clean.

In addition, every time the body is set up, the first thought is to think that all the practices, whether they are meditation, breathing, and so on, if there is any gain, all the merits of all attainments will be returned to all sentient beings, and they do not belong to oneself.

After this vow is made, the second thought is empty, or the second thought is emptied, or the recitation of the Buddha is started again.

It is necessary to recite this anytime and anywhere in order to call Dharma offerings and Dharma almsgiving, and only when a person can recite this for decades can he be regarded as learning Buddhism.

Can we do it? I'm afraid that the Dharma offering can't be done, but it's making an offering in qi, and the angry people disturb your meditation, this and that.

"What do you mean?"

What Vimala said, the Bodhisattva of Good Virtue did not understand, so he asked Vimal to explain.

"It is said that Bodhi starts from compassion. To save sentient beings and have great compassion. To uphold the Dharma, it starts with joy. With wisdom, walk in the heart of sacrifice. ”

You see, as soon as Vimal monk spoke, there was a lot of it, like a silver bottle pouring water, and it was ...... Just come down, you won't have time to pick it up.

It is no wonder that the Bodhisattvas of the Ten Lands are called Dharma Cloud Land, and the Dharma is like clouds and rain, covering the void.

Vimal is a Buddha at home, more than the realm of the ten places, and he said that the Dharma is naturally like clouds and rain.

Here he began to say to the Bodhisattva of Good Virtue, what is the meaning of Dharma almsgiving.

He said, "Bodhi starts with compassion," and you think that you can understand the words at a glance, but you just don't understand them.

How can it be that it is based on bodhi that arises from compassion?

The common scriptures say that bodhichitta includes compassion, but how can we say differently here?

Bodhi means enlightenment in Chinese, in other words, enlightenment, clear insight.

After attaining enlightenment, we should have compassion from our hearts, and see all sentient beings as children, like a loving father who loves all sentient beings, and this is a kind of Dharma giving.

"To save sentient beings, to have great compassion", people who practice the Dharma and give alms, at any time and anywhere, mentally thinking about how to save sentient beings, sentient beings have troubles and sufferings, how to save them, and to have this great compassion, this is called Dharma offering.

Those of us who study Buddhism should reflect on ourselves! When have you ever thought about saving sentient beings?
