Prologue The Wonder of Life
Life is a wonderful thing. Pen | fun | pavilion www. biquge。 info at least that's the case for me.
As an ordinary Osaka high school student, my life is very simple. In my spare time from work and studying, my favorite thing to do is to study books at home or in the library.
But one day, everything changed. My ordinary leisure life is gone.
It was also a very ordinary day, except that it rained heavily in the evening. I happened to forget to bring an umbrella when I was on my way home from my part-time job, so I rushed home in the rain. Probably because of the rain, I got a pain in my head when I got home, so I fell asleep on the bed without thinking about it.
But when I woke up, I found that everything around me was different.
My head still felt like I was still in pain from the rain, and I got up from the quilt in a daze and found myself in a luxurious and beautiful Japanese-style room.
Just as I was wondering, the sliding door of the Japanese room was suddenly opened. Some women in kimonos came in from outside, and they looked happy to see me wake up.
"Great! The young master has finally woken up! ”
"Hurry up and inform Lady Yodo and Lady Hideyori!"
"And the doctor! Call the doctor! ”
…… Suddenly, I was busy.
"That...... What is this place? You...... Who are you? ”
In a daze, I subconsciously asked.
In an instant, all the women present were stunned for a moment in surprise. Then someone shouted, "... This is your room for the young lord of Osaka Castle, and we are all your personal maids. ”
……
Yes? Osaka Castle? Young master? Maid? What's going on?
My confused brain instantly sobered up, and I immediately asked, "So, who am I?" Why is it here? ”
The maids all showed very panicked expressions in an instant.
"Oh my God, didn't the young master burn his head......"
"How can I explain this to my wife......"
"Poor young master......"
The maids all had sad expressions.
"Young Master, you are the fourth son of the late Taiko, Lord Yoshimatsumaru, don't you even remember these?"
"Young master, you have been recuperating in the room for a month because of a high fever, you can't really remember, right?"
……
I looked around my whole body while being overwhelmed with the amount of information, and then I froze.
Childlike hands and feet, childlike clothes, childlike body.
Isn't this just a child?! Looks like I'm about four years old.
And the words that the maids just spoke......
Taiko? Mrs. Yodo? Hidelai?
A terrible conjecture came to my mind, but it was in line with reality.
――Could it be that I traveled back in time to the Azuchi-Momoyama period or the Edo period?!!!
I was so struck by this thought that I couldn't listen to what the maids were saying.
For the first time in my life, I felt the wonder and horror of life.
……
……
Osaka Castle, Honmaru.
At the end of the day, I sat in a daze on the cloister near the rockery.
The current time is the eighth year of Keicho (1603), and it has been almost three years since I came to this era.
Historically, Toyotomi Hideyoshi unified Japan in the 18th year of Tensho (1590), and after the Battle of Bunroku Keichōcho, Taiko Hideyoshi died, and now Tokugawa Ieyasu is ambitious, and the relationship with the Toyotomi family is becoming more and more tense.
When I first came to this era, I was very panicked. But then, with the comfort of my mother and brother, and the fragments of the memories of the body's original owner, slowly came to my mind, I gradually accepted this unreasonable but indeed reality.
I have reluctantly connected this era with the era in my common sense, using the little but useful historical knowledge I had learned in books, but there are still many irregularities.
First of all, the original owner of my current body is named Toyotomi Yoshimatsumaru, the fourth son of the late Taiko Toyotomi Hideyoshi, born in the second year of Keicho (1597). Now I've changed my name to Hidemitsu because I'm already in the first place.
You can imagine the level of surprise I was when I heard this message. Because in real history, Toyotomi Hideyoshi only had three sons: the eldest son, Ishimatsumaru, died early, the second son, Tsurumatsu, also died, and the last son is my current "brother" Hideyori, and there is no Toyotomi Yoshimatsumaru Hidemitsu in history at all!!
Moreover, Hideyoshi of this era was so overjoyed to learn of the birth of "me" that he actually lived an extra year before he died, that is, in the fourth year of Keicho (1599).
The second thing that amazes me is the gender issue of people in this era. It seems to be a world where women can inherit the family governor, and both men and women seem to be relatively equal. After some research, I found that many famous military commanders of the Warring States period at this time were also women, such as Hidecho of our Toyotomi family, Hideyasu Yuuki, Hideaki Kobayakawa and Takeda Shingen during the Warring States period.
It makes me wonder: is this a past connected to the future where I was from, or is it another parallel world?
In short, after nearly three years of adaptation, the fear I felt when I first arrived had gradually subsided, and I accepted this reality and decided to live as a person who did not exist in history.
Thankfully, my mother, Mrs. Yodo, and my brother, Hideyori, treated me very well. Although my mother, Mrs. Yodo, did not pay as much attention to me as her favorite Xiulai, she did have a love for me as a mother. Although my brother Xiuyori didn't see me much because he was busy studying, the relationship between our brothers was quite good. While these relationships may change over time, it would be nice to have a carefree childhood.
However, the word "carefree" is not the right word to be used now.
This was the time when the relationship between the Toyotomi family and the Tokugawa family was in a major reversal.
In February of this year, Tokugawa Ieyasu had been appointed by the imperial court as the Shogun, Right Minister, and Elder of the Genji clan, and he subsequently founded the Edo Shogunate in Edo. At this time, Lady Yodo, Hideyori and a cadre of retainers also became more and more wary of Ieyasu, and the relationship between the two sides became increasingly tense.
Although I don't know much about this part of history, I know that this is not far from the end of the Toyotomi family. The Osaka Winter Battle in 1614 and the Osaka Summer Battle in 1615 were the two bombs that announced the demise of the Toyotomi family.
In other words, there is not much time left for our Toyotomi family now. If we don't want the Toyotomi family to perish, I, the only one who knows the future, must take action to avoid the many events that would plunge the Toyotomi family into crisis.
What can I do in the face of the urgency of the current tense situation and the foreseen future of the demise of the Toyotomi family?
