Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Underground Colosseum

"Click. Claude closed the door.

77 Green Marsh City is a room the size of a small square, roughly divided into two areas - the "warehouse" near the entrance and the "laboratory" in the back. There seems to be no clear boundary between the two areas, with several humans driving machines back and forth through the space stacked with metal materials or mechanical parts, occasionally transporting something to the door of the laboratory.

The low hum of the machine filled the room, and the occasional familiar lingua franca gave Claude a sense of pleasure, as if he had returned to the streets of Montedia. This is the most beautiful sound in the world, he said to himself.

Claude rubbed the muddy water from the soles of his shoes on the ground, walked in one shoulder high and one shoulder low, and soon came to the laboratory.

In fact, the laboratory is not directly connected to the warehouse, but is separated by several large panes of glass, with several glass doors for access. The laboratory is divided into rooms with different types of machines and equipment, and goblins and humans dressed in white are busy nervously.

"Kit!" Claude greeted.

"Hey, Claude, why are you here? Did you get the detailed blueprints?" said Kit, who was sitting at the desk, took off the strange glasses he was wearing on his head and looked at him excitedly.

"Can't you make those things with the information you have?" Claude wondered.

"Of course you can, but it's hard to say how long it will take, maybe a year, maybe a few years, maybe a dozen years, who knows?" Kitt shrugged his shoulders and made a helpless expression.

"And what if you have a detailed blueprint?"

"Three months, I think I can build this magic railgun in three months. Kitt said with a dance, and after a while he stopped, scratched the top of his head, and said, "I see why you're upset?"

"Whoever comes to this bullshit place would be happy!" Claude scolded dissatisfiedly, and continued, "Damn that chick made me horny and wouldn't let me touch her." ā€

"Haha, then you should be in the red light district of Montedia by now!" Kitt let out a lewd laugh. Then he jumped down from his chair and said, "Let's go, let's go to a place that makes men's blood boil!"

......

Deep in the dense Cursed Forest, hides an unknown jungle city, Green Swamp City. It's hard to spot even from above the Cursed Forest, and no one knows when Midorimarsh City appeared, just as no one knows where those disgusting and cruel lizardmen came from. If you look closely, you can see a giant portal hidden among the towering trees, almost identical to the one in the crater of the Everfree Forest.

The streets of Green Marsh are like a labyrinth. Claude followed Kit around, and after a few minutes, he finally reached his destination, a dilapidated wooden house, when he was stained with muddy water mixed with various green slimes. The door of the wooden house was wide open, and above the door frame hung a few large words written in the lingua franca: Colosseum of Green Swamp.

"Oh, is there a show today?" said Claude's scarred face, an excited expression. The Colosseum is one of the few pleasures that the residents of Green Swamp City enjoy, but Claude rarely comes here.

"Just look at the people in line, it's probably a little late. Kit said as he walked inside.

"There are still ten minutes to go before the last show of the day! It is also the finale of the day, the magician vs. the armored saber-toothed tiger! There are not many places, everyone hurry up and buy tickets!"

"Armored saber-toothed tiger, is that the alien beast armor you made?" Claude was a little surprised.

"Hey, that's right, let me show you my masterpiece. After saying that, Kitt stepped forward and handed the conductor a gold coin and got two tickets......

Entering the narrow passage diagonally downward, Claude came to an empty underground space. It is surrounded by a circle of seven or eight rows of circular stands, and it seems that it will not be a problem to accommodate two or three hundred people.

At this point, most of the seats were already filled with spectators, including humans, goblins, and lizardmen, most of course.

"Vice President, sit here. A man in a black cloak recognized Claude.

Claude was not polite either, and sat there with a butt. He was really worried about his seat, he didn't want to sit with those monsters with green scales.

"Vice President, you have come at the right time, and you are about to start the best show. "The black cloak took the opportunity to pat the horse's ass. Claude nodded and stopped talking, his gaze moving to the center of the Colosseum.

The circular area in the middle of the Colosseum is enclosed with steel pipes and metal ring nets, forming a huge cylindrical cage that separates the combat area from the viewing area. At the same time, Claude felt strong fluctuations in magic, and it seemed that the protective measures were more than just a metal ring.

The combat zone was more than fifty meters long and wide, and was illuminated by several directional high-power lights around it as if it were daylight.

At this time, there was a strong human man lying in the cage, his upper body was naked, the head on his shoulders had disappeared, and blood was sprinkled all around. A lizardman was dragging one of his legs towards the door below the stands.

"That man was the performer of the last show, and he used a giant axe, but he couldn't break through the armor of the saber-toothed tiger. Tsk, now I can only be sent to make feed. The black cloak next to him took the initiative to explain.

Cynthia probably enjoyed watching this kind of competition, and Claude was already planning how to date Cynthia.

"Dear friends, the last game of the day is about to begin! Who is going to play against the armored sabertooth tiger this time?" shouted the goblin from standing in the middle of the field, his megaphone in his hand, and his voice ringing in his ears.

The goblin deliberately sold it, paused for a few seconds before saying, "That's—a mage from the Magicians Guild of the Raffrey Continent!" Before his words could fall, a sound of surprise rang out, followed by boos.

The lizardmen, the natives of Green Swamp City, are usually hostile to mages, and there is a theory that the lizardmen were lost in the Cursed Forest and became this way after being cursed by the Great Mage, although there is no definite basis for this.

As soon as the goblins entered a nearby door, the largest iron gate slowly rose upward, making a heavy sound of machinery running. A beastly roar came from the room behind the iron gates, and soon a tall saber-toothed tiger stepped out of the shadows.

It is a strong adult saber-toothed tiger, nearly two meters tall at the withers and more than five meters long, with yellow and black stripes all over its body. Its mouth opened slightly, revealing its razor-sharp teeth, and it walked calmly towards the middle of the field, like a king.

And in front of the gate opposite the saber-toothed tiger, a human mage with a staff in his hand also stood there. His pale yellow hair was all wet and stuck to his head, and his gold-rimmed glasses hung crookedly on the bridge of his nose.

The gates on both sides of the "Boom ......" began to slowly close.

"Whew......" the saber-toothed tiger let out a low roar. The gold-wired glasses magician's hand slipped, and the staff fell to the ground, and the surrounding stands burst into laughter.
