0124 Two hundred and eighty shells blew up the Japanese base
It was Rychagov's turn to share his story.
I just saw him smile and shook his head, and said to Wang Liang: "General, it's better for you to come, it's more appropriate for you to talk about the matter of fighting devils." ”
"Okay, then I'll do it." Wang Liang was not polite and agreed directly.
He will not take sides, but will only tell the original history objectively and fairly.
"It should have been the end of 1937 when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was going on, and the Chinese Air Force was almost exhausted, and it was no longer able to stop the Japanese devil's planes from bombing Chinese cities indiscriminately, and at the same time Japan announced a blockade of China's coast......"
Whatever the purpose, the support of the Soviet Air Force was undoubtedly a relief for the isolated Chinese military and civilians.
From 1937 to the end of 1941, the Soviet Union, in the name of the Air Force Volunteer Corps, sent a total of more than 3,600 people to participate in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression in China, including more than 1,000 pilots and 2,000 mechanics, engineers, and other aviation auxiliary personnel.
By the beginning of 1940, the Chinese Air Force, with the Soviet Air Force volunteers as the main force, had shot down and blown up 986 Japanese devil planes and damaged more than 120 Japanese devil ships.
After the fall of Nanshi, the Nationalist government was forced to move its capital to Shancheng, but the military committee and some organs of the Kuomintang government remained in Wuhan.
The Japanese are arrogant!
After occupying Nanjing, they immediately drew up a battle plan to further trace the Yangtze River to the west and attack the three towns of Zhanwu City.
Can Chinese soldiers do it?
The joint operation of the Chinese and Soviet air forces dealt a fatal blow to the arrogant devils!
Before 1938, Soviet volunteer pilots fought independently.
After Chinese pilots were trained at the Ili Airenbach Aviation School in Xinxing, Lanshi, Chengshi, and other flight schools, the Chinese and Soviet militaries began to experiment with mixed operations.
In order to effectively resist the bombing of the Devil Air Force, the Nationalist Government decided that the Chinese pilots would join the Soviet Volunteer Flying Group to fight together.
Of course, there was also the implication that the Chinese commander would lead the Sino-Soviet mixed bomber pilot formation.
Chinese Air Force, rise!
From this time on, the Chinese Air Force and the Soviet Volunteer Air Force began to fly Soviet-made fighter planes to fight side by side, and the Sino-Soviet joint reorganization of the Fourth Air Force Group in Nanchang.
This is an opportunity for the rapid growth of the Chinese Air Force.
On February 18, 1938, the devils began a large-scale air raid on Wuhan.
At 12 o'clock in the afternoon, the Devil's Navy dispatched 12 bombers, under the cover of 26 new-type fighters, to take off from the airfields of Nanshi and Wushi respectively, and after rendezvous at the junction of Hui Province and Jiang Province, they swaggered towards Wushi with a long snake formation.
Lieutenant: "Sir, aren't we being arrogant like this?" ”
Ryuji Kaneko replied arrogantly: "Lieutenant, now we are flying over a country that has no airspace rights, and this country does not even have an air force unit capable of forming combat effectiveness, what is there to fear?" ”
Lieutenant: "Hey! ”
Ryuji Kaneko: "Warriors of the Empire, let's have a free hunt and let Takeshi become a ruin like Nanshi!" Hahahaha. ”
"Yo Xi!"
The rampant devil air force is coming.
What the devil didn't know was that the Chinese and Soviet pilots had already completed the mix, and they were waiting for the knife to be tested.
The news of the attack of the Japanese army reached the command post of the 4th Brigade of the Chinese Air Force at the Hanshi airfield.
Nineteen Iraq-15 and 10 Yi-16 destroyers took off from Hanshi and Xiaoshi airfields respectively to intercept them.
This was the first attempt at air combat after the Sino-Soviet mix.
After taking off, the Soviet pilots saw the direction of the Japanese attack pointed out by ground intelligence, flew for ten minutes, and then made a sharp 180-degree turn, and soon found that there were three Japanese bombers in a dense formation at an altitude of 2,000 meters below themselves.
Almost at the same time, the devil fighter plane in the clouds also appeared.
As soon as the Soviet plane was spotted, the Devil fighter plane immediately began to dive.
At this time, the Japanese machine was condescending and took the initiative.
The Soviet pilot Dushin was attacked by three Devil 96 carrier-based fighters.
But he did not show weakness and took turns firing at three fighters, shooting down one enemy plane.
The other two devil fighters persevered and continued to flank Dushen.
At the critical moment, the I-16 piloted by Blagoveshchensky arrived in time to support, and Dushin and Blagoveshchensky successfully shot down the two enemy fighters.
The entire air battle lasted 12 minutes, and the 4th Brigade shot down a total of 12 devil fighters.
In the end, the commander of the Japanese air raid formation, Ryuji Kaneko, who was shouting that the city of Takeshi was in ruins, was shot down and blown up to the ground.
The Chinese Air Force also lost five fighters, and when the group leader Li Guidan was covering his teammates to attack the Japanese plane, he was unfortunately hit by a Japanese plane flying from behind and was killed on the spot.
Squadron leader Lu Jichun and pilots Ba Qingzheng, Wang Yi, and Li Pengxiang also spilled blood in the sky and died heroically.
February 23, 1938 marked the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the Soviet Red Army.
In order to celebrate the holiday with practical actions, the Chinese and Soviet air warriors decided to rush to Taiwan, with the goal of destroying the Japanese Navy's Songshan airfield in Taipei.
"Because I was studying in the USSR at the time, I also applied to participate in that operation, which was the first mission that I carried out together with Comrade Rychagov." Wang Liang said.
The sortie was under the sole responsibility of Rychagov, then squadron leader.
Two formations: one is a mixed Sino-Soviet formation of twelve bombers stationed in Nanchang; The other group consisted of twenty-five bombers stationed in Hankow, all Soviet pilots.
The aircraft of both formations were Tupolev SB bombers.
From Han to Tai, the distance in a straight line was more than a thousand kilometers, and many fighters at that time could not fly that far, only the Tupolev SB bomber could do it, and its maximum range was 1,200 kilometers.
In order to save fuel, Soviet bombers flew at altitudes between 4,000 and 4,800 meters, and the pilots endured hypoxia and hypothermia.
When they arrived at the Taiwan Strait, the group of planes dropped to an altitude of 2,000 meters, and the pilots were able to breathe freely.
Approaching Taiwan, in order to prevent the devil's air defense artillery from attacking and harassing them, the plane group pulled back to an altitude of 4,000 meters.
In order to confuse the devils, the group first flew in the direction north of Taiwan Province, and then made a sharp turn, reduced its altitude, and approached Songshan Airport.
The Japanese devils did not expect that the Songshan airfield would be attacked by the Chinese and Soviet air forces, and they did not even have the slightest defense.
There were no destroyers in the air to intercept them, nor did they be blocked by antiaircraft artillery fire, and the Chinese and Soviet air forces threw a total of 280 artillery shells, and the Songshan airfield was instantly submerged in a sea of fire.
In total, more than 40 enemy planes, more than 10 barracks, and three hangars were blown up in this sortie, and aviation fuel and aircraft equipment that could be used for three years were also burned, completely paralyzing Songshan Airport.
Of course, the Japanese devils were also burned to death quite a bit!
This feat set a new record for long-range bombing in the world, and the next day, Song Meiling, secretary general of the Chinese Aviation Commission, held a celebration banquet and presented the Soviet army with a large cake with a line of red letters: "Salute to the volunteer pilots of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army."
Comment section.
"Salute to the Soviet Union's anti-Japanese flight heroes who are not afraid of bloodshed and sacrifice!"
"I salute all the personnel of the Soviet Volunteer Air Force who helped China in the War of Resistance, thank them for their support, and mourn the martyrs who sacrificed their lives."
"Hearing my blood, the Chinese people will always remember all the heroes who sacrificed their lives and fought bloody battles in the War of Resistance!"

Ba Qingzheng, Wang Yi, Li Pengxiang, Lu Jichun, Li Guidan, please remember that these names are not made up by me, they are all martyrs, Chinese soldiers who died in that air battle.
