Bambook review
Bambook review
Bambook has been in the hands for a while, and I've just finished reading a whole book with it, and I'm basically running around the city with this thing, and it feels good.
Bambook is a lot lighter than I imagined, 282 grams, not much heavier than my iphone 3gs plus shell film or something, it feels very good in my hand, the metal panel on the back and the plastic material on the front feel above the level. The texture is better than the e-book of Hanwang that I used before.
The biggest use of e-books is to be able to read for a long time on various occasions, although you can read books with mobile phones, the number of words displayed on a single page is small, the number of pages turned is huge to collapse, and the other is that mobile phone reading is too power-intensive. Bambook has a long standby time, and because of the use of Eink technology, there is no need to turn the switch on and off, just close the lock button and throw it on the side when not in use. The page turning speed of e-ink technology is not very fast, but it does not affect the continuity of reading much, and the speed is acceptable. After turning the page continuously, you can indeed find some residual traces, but some online comments say that you can read the content of the previous page directly by relying on the residue, which is really nonsense. The residue basically does not affect the reading. The e-book setting is that it will automatically refresh in full screen for a period of time, and the residual problem is solved well. The biggest advantage of Bambook for me is that I can read in a bright environment, even in the sun, and my phone is a cup in this case, no matter how strong it is. But the bambook feels good in the sun, and the reflections are gentle and not harsh at all. Purely from the perspective of reading in direct sunlight, bambook is better than the book itself, and now there are fewer books and papers with relatively high cost beige substrate printing paper, most of which are still bleached paper, and the reflection under the sun is really very dazzling.
After binding to the account, 199 books and nearly 4 chapters were synchronized to me for an hour. The book that you read with Bambook is more comfortable than the one that looks on the website. Especially the VIP chapter, the web version is limited to anti-piracy technical reasons, and they are all pictures, which everyone has criticized for a long time, but there is no solution. Now I complete the subscription on the website and then sync it to the e-book, and the font and single page display word count are much more comfortable than the web page. As for bambook's comment function,This hasn't been tried too much,It's really not very cold to the T9 input method。
Bambook can nominally be on standby for two weeks, that must be the ideal state, now I use Bambook to read books for 3 to 5 hours a day, which is basically all the traffic time in the city, as well as part of the café time, public waiting time, and the sum of the time on the pillow toilet at home, I have been starting for more than ten days, and I have only charged once. Basically, under daily use, it is no problem to use it for a week on a full charge. In the meantime, the works used to synchronize the works are all used at home with IFI, and there is no problem of deliberate power saving.
I'm used to reading with Bambook in my left hand, and I find the asymmetrical design of Bambook a little painful for me. After holding it for a long time, the lower left corner of the e-book shell is not very comfortable in the palm of the hand, and it would be better if this corner could be a little more rounded. When held in the right hand, the position of the five-dimensional navigation key used to turn the page is too low, and it is not very convenient to turn the page. In addition, regardless of whether you are holding it in your left or right hand, the digital input keys and navigation key areas that are placed down are quite easy to touch by mistake. The digital input key area has no function anyway.,It's nothing if you touch it.,It's more troublesome to touch the navigation key area by mistake.,You have to press two or three times to return to the original reading page.。 From a practical point of view, these keys are not used very frequently, and it may be better if they can be placed on the border of the bambook, and placed on the top or bottom where it is not easy to touch the front.
The built-in system is a little unaccustomed to use, mainly because the menu can't be grouped, and if there are many books, it's very troublesome to find, and you have to turn pages continuously. It's not easy to manage after importing your own data book. The support for pictures and PDFs is relatively poor, and the e-book maker can't import a mixed PDF or a scanned version of an e-book, let alone a comic for reading. E-books are a bit less open.
Overall, for text-only reading, for those who are reading on it, Bambook is above the level and can bring a pleasant feeling of use.
