Chapter Eighty-Three: The Beginning

"I brought the second part of the confession you wanted, Colonel." An SS major in a black leather trench coat walked into Kirsten's office with a briefcase.

"You're here at the right time, please wait a minute, Major Cole." Kirsten was flipping through a document when she glanced up at the major, then lowered her head again. The SS major strode over to his desk and saw a second lieutenant sitting on the chair in front of it, only to find that it was also a female officer.

"You can get to know this is Ramona. Second Lieutenant Leeman. Kirsten didn't look up, but casually raised his hand and pointed at the second lieutenant.

"It is an honor to meet such a beautiful lady, SS Commando Group Captain II, West. Cole. Major Cole bumped the heels of his handsome boots and nodded to the lieutenant.

"I'm glad to get to know you, too, Major Cole." Second Lieutenant Li Man nodded politely in return, generous but kept his distance.

"Warn you not to beat my men's ideas, Cole." When Kirsten finished reading the document, she picked up a pen and signed it in the margins on the edge of the desk.

"Got it, Colonel." Cole nodded in agreement.

"Don't pay attention to what I just said, he's a playboy. This report of yours is very well written, it seems that you are already familiar with the work, your teacher is not bragging, and you are indeed his best student. Kirsten shoved the document in front of Leeman.

"Major Erhard has helped me a lot, Colonel." Li Man picked up the papers from the table and put them in the leather bag at his feet.

"No need to be modest, Ramona, intelligence analysis is very important in our business, and often a small discovery can change the outcome of a battle. I'm looking forward to what you do in the future, and welcome to the Eye of Odin, Ensign Leeman. Kirsten stood up and held out his hand to Leeman.

"It is an honor to work under your leadership, Colonel Kirsten." Li Man took the colonel's hand and shook it vigorously.

"Now, let me see what the hell you guys are asking for results." Watching the young ensign leave, Kirsten turned his face to the SS officer.

"Our enemies are quite professionally trained, and we had to use some technological means to pry these things out of their mouths with great difficulty." Cole sat down in his chair and pulled out a stack of papers from his briefcase.

"Technology?" Kirsten took the papers from Cole, and she was a little curious about the Major's words.

"Hmm... Some special medications, but rest assured, the confession is perfectly fine. The main thing is that these people are trained in anti-torture, and there is a guy who even falls into a coma as soon as we torture him, and we can only use drugs to keep them awake and be able to really feel the pain. Speaking of which, we have to highlight Dr. Hammad, whose improved electrocution machine is really amazing..."Major Cole said the business problem with excitement on his face.

"Okay, you don't need to describe it to me in detail, I believe in your professional ability." There were quite a few monsters among the torture experts at the General Security Bureau, and Kirsten wondered if he didn't have the kind of appetite they had.

"Everyone thought that if Major Jürgen had been there, the time it would have taken him to complete the mission would have been shorter, but unfortunately he is still in Italy. To tell you the truth, I was a little jealous of him, Colonel, and thought that Hurgen was now lying comfortably on the beach in Rome basking in the sun, while I was crouching in the basement of the General Headquarters, tending to a group of stubborn Russians. "Major Cole was evidently acquainted with Kirsten, and did not speak at all.

"If you are not satisfied with your present work, I may order you two to exchange, and I am sure that Major Jürgen will be quite happy, he is now cleaning up the mafia in Sicily, and he is busy with it, and yesterday he made a long phone call to complain to me, that the efficiency of the Italian gendarmes is driving him crazy, and he has no authority to shoot any fool." Kirsten said coldly.

"Oh, I didn't say anything before me, Colonel. I guess I'd better clean up the Russians, at least they're all tough guys. Cole raised his hand in surrender.

"Is the interrogation difficult?" Kirsten flipped through a page of confession.

"Look at what you say, how can it not be small, but this group is a stubborn Bolshevik, and they have the same strong faith as we do. We used almost all the torture instruments on them, and to be honest, I really admired the strength they showed at that time. Cole nodded.

"Don't go and admire your enemies, Major." Kirsten lowered his head and turned the page again.

"I understand that it's just a matter of position, that they are loyal to their country and that we are doing our part." Major Cole pulled a cigarette case out of his pocket.

"Is that okay?" The Major gestured to Kirsten.

"The ashtray is on the coffee table." Kirsten waved his hand.

After spending a long time in a place like the High Command, Kirsten had given up on banning smoking in his office, and his immediate boss, General Weierle, liked to smoke, not to mention the fact that there was a Reich Führer who liked to hang around with a cigar in his mouth.

"These confessions are very useful for our plan, and we need to make full use of this information before the Soviets realize that the secrets have been leaked and make targeted changes to this effect." Kirsten closed the folder and placed it in the file box on the desk.

"Are the names and addresses of the latter people in Russia really useful, I think the intelligence station in Königsberg that they confessed before is more valuable." Major Cole placed the ashtray on the edge of his desk and rebuilt himself in his chair.

"That station has been under our surveillance for a long time, and now we have to act before they move, and in a way, it is more useful to keep this station than to destroy it. And these names and addresses, which seem to you to be useless, imply a vast network of people, which is exactly what we need now, whether these people want to or not, they will be used by us, but in a way that they don't really like. Kirsten said indifferently.

"I think I see what you mean, Colonel. By the way, what was Frank doing all this time? Last time I heard that he went to Romania, I don't know when he will be back in Berlin, I haven't had a drink with him for a long time. Cole lit a cigarette and threw the match into the ashtray.

"Major Kaoririch is on a classified mission, I can't tell you where he went... Don't look at me like that, Cole, you're not a kid anymore. Kirsten stooped down and opened the door to his desk, and took out a bottle of "John Walk" from inside.

"This is from the parcel he sent, and in the letter he specified to give you this bottle of wine." The colonel placed the bottle on the table.

"What a friend, Frank really hasn't forgotten me." Cole happily took the bottle and stuffed it into the briefcase he had brought.

"You take this order back, it's an order from the Führer himself, Himmler has an identical document in his hand, you have this for Lieutenant Colonel Schellenburg" Kirsten took out a document from a drawer.

"There's the Führer's signature on it, see clearly?" Opening the folder, Kirsten pointed to Xu Jun's signature in the blank space.

"The will of the Führer is the mission." Cole put away his smile and replied with a serious expression.

"That's it, I'll have a meeting later." Kirsten closed the folder and handed it to Cole.

"Then I take my leave, Kirsten." Cole carefully put away the papers, then stood up and snuffed out his cigarette in the ashtray.

"Hey! Reinhart! The SS major gave a salute.

"Hey! Reinhart. Kirsten raised his right arm.
