Suddenly, the people of the entire Chang'an City were shaken, on the one hand, they were grateful for the strength of the Buddha's wish, and on the other hand, they deeply felt that they were living in a prosperous world, and they were grateful to the emperor for his grace.

Immediately, when they heard the wind, they competed to visit the wonders of this Famen Temple. The first half of the next day was not too much, and it did not affect the blessing and chanting of this Famen Temple for the time being. But since noon, the people have flocked to the place, which has seriously affected the matter of praying for blessings and chanting. As a last resort, Wang Xuance and Zhou Chen could only say to the people who came to visit: "The people of Chang'an City, let's wait for the time being, this Buddha refers to the relics, and after Master Xuanzang completes the ceremony, he will naturally be enshrined in the Temple of Mercy and Grace for everyone to see." At present, it is the time to chant sutras and pray for blessings, so we must not delay this serious matter, lest the Buddha accuse us of sin, and we will not be able to bear the sin, and we will be brought to the calamity. ”

Listening to his words, the second half of the sentence pierced the fragile string in the depths of the people's hearts. It is precisely because the people who come to observe have a trace of yearning for the Buddha or the Dharma, and everyone knows that these seven days are the time to chant the sutras and invite them, if they can't do it in the etiquette, it will affect this serious thing, in case the Buddha descends to sin, but he can't eat and walk around, so when he heard Wang Xuance say this, the people will disperse.

Wang Xuance hurriedly asked Zhou Chen and the others to take the soldiers to set up roadblocks at several intersections in and out of this Famen Temple as soon as possible, and wrote down the reasons, so as to beg the people not to come for the time being.

In April, Chang'an City is already early summer, and the trees are not only dressed in green, but also provide shade for people to take a break. And Chang'an City is still so prosperous. The time came to the morning of the eighth day of the fourth month, in this Daxing Palace, Gaozong Li Zhi and Empress Mei Niang have been fasting and bathing for three days, and this Ashoka Pagoda has been completed under the rapid construction of the exquisite craftsmen of the Si Zhen Room.

So, after cleaning up, the two of them had a slightly smaller pomp than before, with guards to open the way, musicians to accompany them, under the foil of civil and military officials, taking the jade luo, with the Ashoka Pagoda, out of this Daxing Palace, and came to this Famen Temple.

At this time, Master Xuanzang had already led eighty eminent monks, as well as Wang Xuance and others to wait here for a long time. Seeing His Majesty coming, he hurriedly stepped forward, and after bowing down, he led the two of them and the ministers and hundreds of officials into the dilapidated Famen Temple.

Looking closely at such a desolate Famen Temple, Li Zhi and Wu Meiniang were also stunned, although they were in this Chang'an City, but in addition to this Daxing Palace, other places were rarely involved. Although they knew that this Famen Temple had been destroyed for more than 30 years, they never imagined that it would be such a desolate scene.

Looking at the two people looking east and looking west, their faces couldn't help revealing some ugly colors, and Master Wang Xuance and Master Xuanzang also had such a calmness in their hearts. Of course, the two of them will not take the initiative to mention all this, they are just waiting quietly.

In this way, everyone walked along the desolate passage and came to the front of the hall of this Famen Temple. Master Xuanzang took the lead in leading His Majesty and the Empress and some important ministers of the country into this hall, and observed in detail the three Buddha statues that are quite old, as well as the "Buddha light" sprinkled from the cracks in the ground.

Watching such a scene, everyone was amazed. And Li Zhi and Wu Meiniang, who were immersed in the scene, were also overjoyed, and then folded their hands and bowed down in front of the three Buddha statues.

After the ceremony was completed, Gaozong Li Zhi asked Master Xuanzang about the doubts in his heart for the past two days: "Master, this hall is so auspicious, will our invitation this time alarm the Buddha, is it appropriate?" ”

But listening to this Master Xuanzang, he came back with his hands folded: "Your Majesty, the purpose of this time I am waiting for seven days of chanting is to follow Your Majesty's will and invite the Buddha's finger relics to enlighten everyone. ”

"This is very good, and I am very relieved, so in that case, please ask the mage to start according to the ritual."

So, after everyone got out of this hall, with the resurgence of the Buddha's voice, Master Xuanzang picked up three sticks of incense, and after worshipping sincerely, he then ordered Xiaoshamen to open the palace of this Famen Temple.

After the underground palace was opened, it was suddenly full of light, and only seven ever-bright lamps were seen, which illuminated the entire underground palace. It turns out that all these rays of light are emitted by these seven everlasting lamps. In the face of such a peculiar scene, although this is also the case, everyone is also amazed. Thirty years have passed, and this everlasting lamp is still burning, and above this hall, it can still crack the mouth and emit light, it seems that there should really be this prosperous era of Buddhism.

So, Master Xuanzang led the two eminent monks to personally go down to the underground palace and respectfully invited out the stone culvert that held the Buddha's relics. It is placed in front of these three Buddha statues. Subsequently, the land palace of this Famen Temple was temporarily closed.

At this time, under the instruction of Li Zhi and the worship of several eminent monks, they carried the Ashoka Pagoda that had just been built into the stone culvert. Master Xuanzang then respectfully took out the Buddha finger relic from the stone letter and carefully placed it in the Ashoka Pagoda.

Subsequently, the Ashoka Pagoda was placed in a pre-prepared imperial bowl. This royal bowl was also specially given by Li Zhi in order to show grandeur.

"Your Majesty, this Buddha finger relic has been taken out, and you can go to Dabao'en Temple for the people to see" Master Xuanzang hurriedly came to this Li Zhi after everything was ready, and reported to him.

At this time, Li Zhi was watching this invitation on the one hand, and on the other hand, he had already taken advantage of the fact that the master went to the underground palace just now to welcome this Buddha finger relic, and carefully observed the fiasco of this Famen Temple.
