Chapter 1036: A Misunderstanding of the Eightieth Chapter of the Tao Te Ching

The eightieth part of Lao Tzu's moral verse has also been misunderstood by the world, taken out of context by academic spies as well as vulgar scholars and so-called philosophers.

The original text of Lao Tzu's eightieth chapter:

Small country and widows.

that there may be vessels of Sheber and not used; and that the people may die heavy and not go away. Although there is a boat, there is nothing to ride, although there are armor soldiers, there is nothing to show. that the people may regain their ropes and use them. Willing to eat, beautiful clothes, live in peace, and enjoy customs. Neighboring countries look at each other, chickens and dogs hear each other, and the people die of old age and do not interact with each other.

In this article, there are two main places that have been misunderstood by the world, taken out of context by academic spies and vulgar scholars and so-called philosophers.

The first place is the "small country and widowed people" at the beginning. The second place is the middle of the "rejuvenating of the people and use it."

Small countries and widows originally had nothing, but in the Spring and Autumn Period at that time, the princes of all countries were fighting for hegemony, all wanted to expand their territory, and they all wanted to become hegemonic countries, dominate the world, be powerful and blessed, and protect future generations. However, Lao Tzu put forward the opposite proposition, which is naturally "unpopular", and no one supports his statement.

People in the world stand on the perspective and position of reality, and what they see is real life. This is what you see in front of you, it can't be a "small country and a widow". The unification of the world is the trend of the international situation.

Lao Tzu saw the prospect of small countries and widows from the perspective of human nature, from the perspective of rational human beings, and from the perspective and position of a philosopher.

The positions and angles of the two are different.

People in the world stand from the perspective and position of reality, and what they see is only the result in a short period of time. So! The outcome of their lives is different. Different ways of dealing with the world will also be different in their lives.

Because! They live with the idea of responding to the world, that is, the idea of dealing with reality. To put it bluntly, it is a quack idea of treating headaches and foot pain.

Lao Tzu looks at the problem from the standpoint and perspective of man, human nature, and the ultimate direction of mankind, and from the perspective and position of a philosopher.

Later generations of scholarly spies, vulgar scholars and so-called philosophers, because of their personal and academic purposes, as well as political purposes, made a big fuss about the words "small countries and widows".

We can also see the true face of these people from this. When reading through Lao Tzu's moral scriptures, these people no longer use their imagination and use their own thinking and reasoning, but in order to achieve their own goals, they exert extremely rich imagination on the four words "small country and widowed people".

In fact! These people may not have failed to understand Lao Tzu's philosophical thoughts, but! In order to achieve a certain personal goal, the story is distorted.

Since they have such rich imagination and reasoning ability, how can they not fully understand Lao Zhuang's philosophy?

Not yet? For the sake of selfishness, for fame and profit, for the sake of living a life superior to others, he only opens his eyes and tells nonsense?

To sum it up: they are just for survival, for the sake of living a life superior to others, and for their own selfishness. Because! When you become a lackey, you can get a dog food, and that's it.

And not from the perspective of people, humans, and academics.

What is a small country and a widow?

It means: people with the same interests live together! To say that it is small is relative to the world! People in the world have their own tastes, and there are very few people with the same tastes after all!

That's what the best social landscape looks like. People with the same interests live together and live their own lives!

But the social reality is not like this, on the contrary! It's chaos. It is a group of people, led by a few people, who blindly go to battle. Or! Act for a purpose. It's more for the purpose of personal survival, for survival or for better survival.

So! Lao Tzu proposed that if a small country has a widow, the final face of human life will become "impossible to realize", "ideal country", "utopia", and "so-and-so".

The academic spies and the vulgar scholars and the so-called philosophers, regardless of the first denial of the three-seven-twenty-one, the naked denial. And then! He also brought out what they said later, such as "inaction", "not virtuous", "absolute sainthood and abandonment of wisdom", "no worries about learning", "not to be a wise people, but to be foolish" and so on, as evidence.

The ultimate goal is to be so naked, to deny you, to achieve their own ends!

Lao Tzu said that the appearance of human beings as "small countries and widows" is not casually said, but! According to Taoist theory.

The relationship between people and society is like this: the combination of people and people forms society. The state exists because it exists to protect the people. Not first the country and then the people, but! First there are individual people, and then because of the needs of the social situation and the needs of the purpose of existence, the state is formed.

The state emerged only to protect the needs of the people. When the state cannot protect the survival of the people, the state does not exist. When the people no longer need the protection of the state, the state does not exist.

Plainly! The state is only an "institution of temporary need" that appears in the history of human development, and when human beings can live rationally and there are no more wars, the state automatically disappears.

When human beings can live rationally, there are no more wars, the state institutions automatically disappear, and then the social appearance of "small countries and widows" appears.

And those academic spies, as well as vulgar scholars and so-called philosophers, may not see this at all, and arbitrarily dismiss Lao Tzu's "small country and widowed people" as utopian, and then reject it.

Another misinterpretation of the eightieth chapter of Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching is "to make the people regain the knot and use it".

Good explanation for the misinterpretation of this place. Those who misinterpret it are completely out of context and have no context.

In order to achieve the goal, when those people interpret this, they do not follow the context, and then revert to the interpretation of the text out of context. In small countries and widows, they quote scriptures, but when they get here, they interpret them without even coherent context.

According to historical records, the "Knotted Rope Chronicle" is an era in history, when human beings did not have writing, and relied on knotted rope records to record related events.

Lao Tzu served as a Tibetan official in the Great Zhou Dynasty, and he came into contact with a lot of ancient books, so he may know some of the social conditions of that era. So! I'll quote it here. It is believed that after human beings live rationally, small countries and widows are formed, and the appearance of life is similar to that of the knotted rope era.

What is a small country and a widow?

It's people who have the same interests living together! To say that it is small is relative to the world! People in the world have their own tastes, and there are very few people with the same tastes after all!

People are afraid of death, afraid of accidents, and they dare not and are unwilling to leave the familiar place where I was born and raised!

Although there are vehicles and ships to go to distant places, although there are weapons and equipment to protect themselves, but without war, these things are no longer of any use to people, and they are all put aside and ignored by no one.

It was as if people had returned to the era of "knotted rope memories", with sweet food, beautiful clothes, comfortable dwellings, and joyful customs. Even if you live opposite or next door to people with different customs, you just don't associate with them. Although you can see them, hear their chickens and dogs crowing, until they are old, they each live their own lives, and they don't get along with each other!
