And the Gnostic gods are also very strange, different from the "gods of neighbors" in ancient Greece and Rome, and different from the temperant Jehovah of the Jews, the Gnostic gods are completely unworldly and unworldly, the unknown.

This hidden God is a nihilistic concept: from Him there is no overflow of norms, nor of the laws of nature and the laws of human behavior that are part of the natural order.

The phrase "Heaven and earth are unkind, and all things are dogs" is the best footnote to the Gnostic gods.

The earliest core Gnostic denominations predate the formation of Christianity and flourished in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

At the height of its popularity, some Christians were influenced by the Gnosticism, but their doctrine of "seeking true knowledge" was incompatible with the Christian orthodoxy of "justification by faith", so it was denounced as "heresy".
