Since the separation of Huineng, Lin Shanzi and Chen Asi, Chen Asi went to an antique calligraphy and painting shop in Guangzhou City as an apprentice, with his natural intelligence and cleverness, coupled with extra diligence, he quickly mastered the knowledge of antique calligraphy and painting.

In order to identify the authenticity of calligraphy and painting, and to see through all kinds of fraudulent methods, he is not only familiar with its production process, but also practiced it thousands of times, until he has studied all kinds of imitation secrets thoroughly, imitated like it again, and can confuse the real with the fake.

Once, the counterfeit he imitated actually deceived the eyes of his master, the owner of the antique shop. His extremely intelligent and sensitive heart was used in this aspect, and besides, he had another purpose, how could he not be familiar with it and know the trick of it.

It was with this effort that at the end of the three-year apprenticeship, he was promoted by the master to become the third shopkeeper in the store, with a monthly salary of one or two silvers - enough to be worth Huineng to go up the mountain to work for firewood for half a year.

Not long ago, he had a discerning eye for pearls and found a treasure for the store, and he made thousands of taels of silver in a few hands.

One evening, when it was almost closed, there were only two people left in the store, him and the second shopkeeper. At this time, a very ordinary-dressed man walked in, but one of the ancient paintings of "Vimalaya" that he brought with him was not ordinary, the picture was extremely exquisite, and the age seemed to be a long time ago. What's even more unexpected is that someone actually said that this is Gu Kaizhi's work!

Gu Kaizhi (345 A.D. - 406 years), the word Changkang, also known as the tiger head, Jin Ling, a figure who had a far-reaching impact on the history of the development of Chinese painting, was the first to be known as the outstanding painter of the Eastern Jin Dynasty who was known as "talent, painting, and obsession", and "Luo Shen Futu" is one of his masterpieces. The whole picture is based on Cao Zhi's "Luo Shen Fu" during the Three Kingdoms period, vividly showing the moving story of Cao Zhi and the goddess Luoshui falling in love but unable to get together. The original is no longer extant.

The facsimile of the orderly "Luo Shen Futu" is basically the same in composition and modeling. The Northern Song Dynasty copied Gu Kaizhi's painting scroll with a length of 641.6 centimeters and a width of 26.3 centimeters, in the form of a comic strip. The small block text at the frontispiece is Cao Zhi's "Luo Shen Fu", which leads to a sad and sentimental love story for the world.

Cao Zhi was Cao Cao's second son, and when he was young, he fell in love with the woman Zhen, but later Zhen married Yuan Shao's son. After Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao in the Battle of Guandu, his eldest son Cao Pi took Zhen as his wife. Later, Cao Pi was proclaimed emperor and established Zhen as the queen. In the second year of Huang Chu (221 AD), Zhen was killed in the harem by Cao Pici. A year later, Cao implanted himself in Beijing to see him, and Cao Pi gave him Zhen's love jade gold belt pillow. Cao Zhi saw things and thought about people, and was sad. When he returned to the fiefdom and passed through Luoshui, the feeling of remembering Zhen spontaneously arose, and even wrote the heirloom work "Luo Shen Fu".

The whole picture clearly reflects the characteristics of the painting of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the whole picture is centered on the activities of the characters, the image and charm of the characters are depicted vividly and accurately, the colors are bright, the lines are smooth, and the poetic beauty is rich, integrating the art of painting with the aesthetics of history, and vividly tells us the sincere, pure and poignant love story.

Gu Kaizhi's works are very rare, and collectors are even more reluctant to sell them until their homes are ruined. How could this painting appear in this remote Lingnan? What's more, there is no Gu Kaizhi's signature on the painting. Moreover, the person who came refused to identify himself in any case. Based on this, the second shopkeeper concluded that this was a fake, a copy of an ancient master's copy.

Chen Ah Si decided that this was really Gu Kaizhi's work, and repeatedly encouraged the second shopkeeper to buy it.

The second shopkeeper naturally refused. Chen Ah Si seemed to have fallen into evil spirits, and he was arrogant in making claims, and he had to buy him for fifty taels of silver. And said that in case he was deceived, he would be willing to use his salary to cover the loss in the store.

Even so, the second shopkeeper had no choice but to let him. After the man left, the second shopkeeper pointed to the ancient painting and said, "I haven't even paid for it, how can it be genuine?" ”

Chen Asi said amazingly: "Just this painting, there is a payment, but it is a fake." ”

The second shopkeeper was shocked and blurted out: "Why? ”

Chen Ah Si said confidently: "This "Vimala Portrait" is not a formal painting, but a sketch. To be precise, it's a sample. ”

"How do you know?"

Chen Asi smiled slightly, and then said slowly: "This is the sample that Gu Kaizhi painted when he painted the mural "Vimala" for Jiankang Wa Coffin Temple, so there is no payment. On the day of the eye-catching, the monks were invited to turn their fortunes to the dignitaries who came to visit, and they got 100,000 yuan on the first day, and 500,000 yuan each on the next two days, and soon raised millions of huge sums.

The second shopkeeper couldn't help but believe in Chen Ahsi. However, he still has a big doubt: "Our Guangzhou is not a cultural center like Chang'an and Yangzhou, how can Gu Kaizhi's heirloom work end up here?" ”

"Excuse me, what is the surname of our predecessor?"

"Oh, that's right!" The second shopkeeper suddenly realized: "Yes, yes, Master Gu often boasts that he is a descendant of Gu Kaizhi." Could it be that the person who came just now was Lord Gu's family? ”

Chen Asi nodded: "Although he is dressed up in disguise, I can still see that he is the follower of Gu Dagongzi." And this is one of the reasons why I think it is Gu Kaizhi's genuine product. ”

The year before last, Master Gu, who had been in Guangzhou for nine years, was promoted to the Hunan Observer Envoy, but his family still remained in Guangzhou. The eldest son of the Gu family was not a good bird in the first place, but now that he is not bound by his father, it is natural for him to believe in the reins and squander it wantonly. However, Luo Guo went up the mountain - the front (money) was tight, so he had to secretly mash out the antique calligraphy and paintings treasured at home and sell them. This makes sense, and it's not surprising at all. Since ancient times, the losers of large families have always been the parents of antique dealers and the opportunity to get rich.

A few days later, a Javanese merchant who had traveled across the sea took a fancy to the painting and bought it for a thousand taels of silver.

As a result, Chen Asi's reputation spread throughout the Guangzhou business community. What's even more eye-popping is that soon, he actually replaced Boss Tan and became the new owner of Yuexiu Pawnshop.

And all this is also because of a famous painting by Gu Kaizhi.

In those days, Boss Tan almost regretted all his intestines. At the beginning, the "Vimala Portrait" that made Chen A's four fame and fortune first passed through the hands of Boss Tan. When that person sent the painting to the counter of the pawnshop, Boss Tan couldn't get it accurately, for fear of being deceived and mistaking the fake for a treasure, so he sent him to the calligraphy and painting shop under various excuses.
