Chapter 791: Twelve Grades
"Ji Shou Ten Strength Great Diligence", these are the words of the Buddha praised by Baoji, which person in the world is the most diligent? There is only Buddha. No matter what environment or place a person is in, in happiness, in trouble, day and night, there is only one way to move forward. Do you still practice after becoming a Buddha? I can tell you that I am always cultivating, and the void is endless! Those who study Buddhism should not be tolerant of themselves or sloppy, and they are the ones who learn the roots of Buddhism and make great progress.
"The chief has been fearless", only when he becomes a Buddha can he be fearless, life and death are not tired, what else is there to be afraid of in the world? Life and death are the biggest obstacles, you check why you are afraid of ghosts, that is, you are afraid of being killed by ghosts! If you are not afraid of life and death, will you still be afraid of ghosts? In fact, the most terrible thing in the world is people, and the devil is afraid of people. People are terrible in people's hearts, and their own hearts are the most terrible, because they can't grasp their own hearts at all.
"The head of the law dwells in the non-common law", the Dharma is not the common law, all the methods in the world, the outer way and the Dharma are common, called the common law. For example, meditation and meditation are common laws, and even Catholicism has them, but they are not cross-legged. I used to know a French priest on CD who sat in a place the size of a telephone booth and sat down in twenty minutes. When he meditated, he would hang in the air, but he said that as soon as he moved, he knew that he was hanging in the air, and boom, he would fall down. The non-common dharma of the Dharma is wisdom, which is prajna.
"The Great Teacher of All Beings", the Buddha is the Great Teacher of all living beings in the world.
"The chief can break the knots of the people", we can free thousands of knots and shackles in our hearts, and we are Buddhas. Life and death, habits are all knots. It's called a knot because of this knot that it makes you miserable and reincarnated.
"The chief inspector has arrived on the other side, the chief inspector can spend the world, and the chief inspector will never leave the way of life and death", only when he becomes a Buddha can he really go to the other side, jump out of this world, and truly live and die forever. You may think that you will not come to this world for the sake of life and death, and you are wrong. Because the Buddha has lived and died, everyone has come to this world to live sentient beings, and they are no longer afraid of life and death, they are not bound by life and death, and they come and go freely. You feel afraid of the world, and you won't come if you think about life and death, this is an outsider's view, not to mention that you can't live and die yet. If you have such a heart, you will never be able to live and die, because you will not be able to talk about the Hinayana path if you don't see the right ground. When we study Buddhism, we must first learn the ten vows of the "Fuxian Prayers", live all sentient beings in life and life, and dare to go to the place where the most suffering, even hell, this is the spirit of the Buddha. If you want to escape from this world, what is studying Buddhism?
"Knowing that sentient beings come and go, I am liberated from the Dharma, and I am not like a lotus flower in the world, and I am always good at entering the emptiness and solitude, and even the Dharma is not hindered, and the head is like emptiness and nowhere to rely on." The Buddha understood life and death, and saw the appearance of the six realms of sentient beings coming and going very clearly. The Buddha has to be liberated from all the worldly dharmas, and even the outer magic is omnipresent. Where is the Dharma? The Dharma is in the world, and the true Pure Land is in your heart, so don't seek it from outside. The symbol of Buddhism is the lotus flower, which blooms only when it grows in the dirtiest sludge, and if it is in clean soil, it will not give birth to a lotus, which is the spirit of learning Buddhism. If you want to escape from the world, you will not succeed if you go to a pure place to practice alone. This is the orthodox Dharma.
Therefore, the Buddha can be good at entering the realm of emptiness, entering the nirvana of silence; And deeply realize that all the Dharma and everything are unhindered, so there is nothing to rely on. You say it's empty, so it's not coming, it's empty and inflexible. Emptiness encompasses all laws, both good and evil. If you think that emptiness is right and not emptiness is wrong, then you still have a hindrance, and it is not really emptiness. The most important thing is that there is nothing to rely on. Meditation and meditation should not be based on the body, not on the mind, not on the mind, not on the basis of non-dependence, you sit and watch. I feel hot when I sit and want to turn on the air conditioner, and I already have something to rely on. You say that there is nothing, it is empty, or it is empty, and the realm of emptiness is coming out of the heart.
"The elder son of the treasure accumulation, said this, the white Buddha said: World-honored! It is the son of 500 elders, all of whom have developed the three bodhichitta, wishing to smell the pure land of the Buddhas, and wishing only the world-honored ones to speak of the Bodhisattva's journey to the pure land. When the elder Tzu Baoji said the above words of admiration, he said to the Buddha that all of them, the five hundred elder sons, had attained supreme enlightenment. Anuttara means supreme, the three are right, contempt is the meaning of equal, and bodhi is the meaning of enlightenment. It is not easy to translate, so the pronunciation of the original text is used, which is barely equivalent to what the Chinese call "great enlightenment". But the great enlightenment cannot be fully included, because the three bodhisattvas of the Anuttara also have the meaning of great compassion, great wisdom, and great will. If you just want to escape from reality for yourself and try to be pure, then it is called Anuttara selfishness and selfishness. These elders have only the motivation to get the results yet, so now I hope to hear the World-Honored One explain the Buddha's fruition, that is, the pure state of the Buddha's land, and how the great bodhisattvas practice the Pure Land. Treasure Jack asks two questions here.
Buddha said: Good! Treasure Pool! It is able to ask all the bodhisattvas about the journey of the Pure Land. Listening! Listening! If you think of it, you should say it. So the treasure and the five hundred elders were taught and listened. The Buddha praised Bao Ji for asking himself and the bodhisattvas how to become a Buddha, and asked them to listen carefully and think about it, and the Buddha would speak for them. Here, the Buddha combined the two questions raised by the treasure into one, because the bodhisattva is a Buddha who has not yet reached the earth, and the Buddha is a bodhisattva who has reached the fruition level, so he will talk about the path to Buddhahood, which is what we have to learn to practice.
