Chapter 310: Celebration
Half a year later, Saudi Arabia, northwest of Riyadh, King Salman Military Industrial City.
In the early morning, the originally deserted military industrial city became lively.
Like their country where they believe in Allah, the first thing the soldiers and civilians of King Salman's Military Industrial City do after waking up in the morning is to pray facing the rising sun.
However, not all people who live here are followers of Allah.
Outside a newly completed factory, dozens of heavily armed guards have set up a yellow cordon.
As the prayer ended, the personnel of the military industrial city arrived one after another.
After the necessary security checks, the personnel were all busy, mostly setting up the venue, and some were dressed in welcome dresses.
Obviously, this is an unusual day.
The golden carpet that stretched from the helicopter landing point to the entrance of the factory indicated that it would not be long before a distinguished member of the royal family arrived.
Either the king or the crown prince.
Because King Salman is old, he has rarely been involved in political affairs in recent years, let alone participated in civil celebrations, so it must be Crown Prince Mohammed who is waiting for him.
Shortly before nine o'clock, a royal guard of about five hundred men arrived.
It was not simple, not only dozens of armored combat vehicles, but also eight main battle tanks, as well as eight self-propelled anti-aircraft guns that were acquired not so long ago.
A few minutes later, four EF2000 fighters flew over the military-industrial city.
At ten o'clock, a helicopter flew in from the southeast, and the first dignitary arrived.
It is none other than Prince Waleed, who is deeply respected by Crown Prince Mohammed and has become a core member of the royal family.
Over the next hour or so, dozens of royals and senior officials arrived, as well as diplomats from China, Pakistan and several Gulf states.
Pakistan is a friend of Saudi Arabia, and there is nothing surprising about being invited.
As for the diplomats of the Gulf countries such as the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Yemen, as well as Egypt, several Arab countries that have good relations with Saudi Arabia, they are certainly welcomed.
It's just that why did the Saudi authorities invite Chinese diplomats?
In fact, there is nothing surprising that this factory was built by Huaxia Enterprises, and not only the quality was up to standard, but it was also completed three months ahead of schedule.
The two collaborations are enough to make the Saudi authorities trust Huaxia's engineering capabilities.
Just a month ago, Crown Prince Mohammed signed several contracts in Riyadh with several Chinese engineering companies, handing over to them the construction of the ring high-speed railway from Riyadh to Medina, from Medina to Mecca, and from Mecca to Riyadh.
The total value of the contract is 120 billion US dollars!
It is also the world's first high-speed railway with an operating speed of more than 500 kilometers per hour.
Because the amount of work is too large, and the construction is extremely difficult, even if it is fully committed, it will take eight years before it can be opened to traffic.
Of course, these are all off-topic.
When the guests arrived one after another, Wang Dong was already waiting here.
That's right, this is the ammunition factory invested and built by D&F, officially known as the "DF Saudi Kingdom Combined Ammunition Production Plant".
In terms of property rights, the ammunition plant belongs to the D&F Saudi company.
Today, it is not only the inauguration ceremony of the factory, but also the groundbreaking ceremony.
In order to save time, after the main construction of the plant was completed, D&F began to set up the production line and the personnel training was carried out simultaneously.
Although the production line has not yet been tested, no one has asked for immediate production.
What we have to do today is just a symbolic start of construction.
Of course, in order to support D&F, the Saudi authorities not only provided a lot of convenience, but also built a railway directly to the factory.
With this railway, raw materials imported from Huaxia can be sent directly to the factory.
With all three planned production lines in production, the plant will be able to produce 10 million rounds of ammunition per month, while the designed maximum capacity is 50 million rounds.
Of course, the premise is that there are enough raw materials.
According to Saudi official propaganda, with the United Ammunition Factory, Saudi Arabia no longer needs to import ammunition, at least it can be self-sufficient in guns and ammunition.
Actually, this is just the beginning.
According to the plan of D&F Saudi Arabia, the United Ammunition Plant will expand its production capacity in the future, and the next step will be to provide small-caliber artillery shells to Saudi Arabia.
In addition, all the sites near the plant are reserved to prepare for future capacity expansion.
After the technological breakthrough, the United Ammunition Factory will also set up a production line for large-caliber artillery shells and even rockets, so that Saudi Arabia no longer needs to import ammunition.
How to develop in the future, Wang Dong has not thought about it.
Perhaps, someday in the future, special ammunition such as missiles, torpedoes and other special ammunition will be produced here.
It's just, who thinks that far ahead?
You know, this is an ammunition factory that uses all new technologies.
The first production line was used to produce countersunk bullets!
If all goes well, in three months, the United Ammunition Plant will deliver the first batch of 8mm countersunk ammunition, and D&F will officially sign a contract with the Saudi military to replace the DF762 series with DF8 series firearms that fire 8mm countersunk rounds, and the Saudi Army will also become the first army in the world to be equipped with countersunk ammunition.
Of course, D&F will recycle the DF762 series of firearms at a discounted price in accordance with the previously signed agreement.
After maintenance and upkeep, the guns will be sold again to the Saudi authorities and provided to friendly countries in the form of military assistance.
At the top of the list of Saudi aid is Pakistan.
According to the agreement reached between Crown Prince Mohammed and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia will provide Pakistan with 500,000 new firearms in the form of military assistance in the next five years to replace all standard firearms equipped by the Pakistan Army, with a total amount of 8 billion US dollars.
Although it is gratuitous assistance, it is not gratuitous.
That is, Saudi Arabia needs to import, through Pakistan, from China the binary propellant and new primer necessary for the production of countersunk bombs.
The key point is that the relationship between Saudi Arabia and China is far less than that between Pakistan and China.
With China's "Regulations on the Control of the Export of Military Supplies and Equipment", key technologies such as binary propellants can only be supplied to "hardcore" friends such as Pakistan.
Obviously, without Pakistan coming forward, Saudi Arabia would not be able to buy China's advanced military technology even if it had money.
A similar situation is not only with the propellant of ammunition, but also with fifth-generation fighters.
Not the J-20 for China's own use, but the FC-31 developed for export.
Saudi Arabia has long expressed its willingness to purchase FC-31 and is willing to provide funds to help China's aircraft manufacturing enterprises complete the design work.
However, before Pakistan's involvement, the matter had not received the attention of the Chinese authorities.
Negotiations are ongoing, but with Pakistan involved, Saudi Arabia is likely to be the first purchaser of the FC-31.
Of course, that's a long way off.
It was almost noon when the helicopter carrying Crown Prince Mohammed arrived, accompanied by three helicopter gunships.
Wang Dong was puzzled, because he never understood why the Saudi royal family liked to arrange formal celebrations at noon in the scorching sun.
Aren't you afraid of the heat?
