The Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, the Yellow Sect, was one of the most famous and labeled ideas at the time, which was to promote the idea of reincarnation.

Although Altan Khan was born in a golden family and is a descendant of Genghis Khan, there are too many descendants of Genghis Khan, and the identity of this descendant of the Pol Jin clan is not as good as becoming the reincarnation of Genghis Khan himself, which is more beneficial to the unification of all Mongolian tribes.

After Sonam Gyatso accepted Altan Khan, a disciple and received the title of Dalai Lama, he did not immediately return to Tibet, but stayed in Qinghai to preach.
