Chapter 823: Folk Songs
Abu doesn't understand these ancient songs, but he is more learning from the Supreme Treasure, and more of them are some folk songs. Although these songs have become popular all of a sudden, they have had their own special status in ancient times.
In fact, the popular folk songs have appeared as early as Xianchu, but the degree of popularity may not be as far-reaching as in modern times.
For example, this song "The girl is one hundred and five pounds, and outsiders recruit her." Don't be willing to be willing to be biased, the champion son has fate. Such a ballad is vivid, vivid, and free, as if someone's hometown is not far in the past, as if it is the past not long in the past, it is the imprint in my heart from this moment when I read it when I was a child, and it is the broken words I heard when I was lying on my grandmother's lap and plucking out my ears, and the memories of the past are blended together, which is unforgettable.
Speaking of folk songs, in addition to being a current music genre, Song Dongye, Ma Di, Zhou Yunpeng, etc., or think of the singer who recently won the Nobel Prize in Literature: Bob Dylan, or even think of American country music, but in fact, the Celestial Empire had a collection of folk songs called the Book of Songs a long time ago.
Strictly speaking, the Book of Poetry cannot be regarded as a Confucian classic, but Confucius deleted the poem (doubtful here) and set the tone for it: "Three hundred poems, in a word, are innocent." After the continuous interpretation of Confucianism in later generations, it gradually changed from "poetry" to "poetry".
However, a large part of the "Book of Songs" still retains a large part of the ancient folk lyrics, especially the "national style" part, which is almost all the folk songs of the various vassal states at that time, but after the music officials have been regularized, but you can still feel the unrestrained enthusiasm and the dusty atmosphere on your face.
"Will Zhong Zixi, no more than me, no break my tree. How dare you love it? Fear of my parents. Zhong Kehuai is also afraid of the words of his parents. ”
In the Han and Wei and Jin dynasties, there were "Han Yuefu" and folk songs of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The same is taken from folk songs, but compared with the simplicity and lingering of the "Book of Songs", there is more of a pathos. Maybe it's because the people's lives are more difficult, maybe it's because the war has been too long, the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Wei and Jin Dynasties, the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the chaos has really been too long, and it is the representative of the scholar literature at that time: Jian'an literature, and there are many chapters of generous and sad songs, not to mention folk songs.
"Fifteen from the army, eighty years to return. Dao meets the villagers, who is there in the family? "I joined the army at the age of fifteen and was able to return home at the age of eighty. As an ordinary soldier, he was already very lucky, at least he came back alive, and how many people died in the middle of the way and buried their bones in the barren hills? But what about going home? Many of the fathers and elders in the family withered, and they were alone, "the soup was cooked for a while, and I didn't know who Yi'a was", so it was no wonder that "I went out to look east, and tears fell on my clothes".
Similarly, "Han Yuefu" also has a folk song that describes love, the famous "Evil Spirit! I want to know you and live a long life. There are no tombs in the mountains, the rivers are exhausted, the thunder and earthquakes in winter, the rain and snow in summer, the heaven and the earth are combined, and you dare to be with you! It is from "Han Le Fu". Compared with another poem "Thoughtful", describing the break of love: "Wen Jun has his heart, and he destroys it." Destroy it, and the wind will blow its ashes. From now on, don't be lovesick! You will find that straightforward and unrestrained emotions are typical characteristics of folk songs. Whether you love someone or hate someone, say it out loud, so that there is no euphemism from you literati and doctors, "If you want to talk about it, you will say that it will be cold for a long time."
However, in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, due to geographical divisions, there were differences in the styles of the North and South Poles. The folk songs of the Northern Dynasties are rough and free, and the folk songs of the Southern Dynasties are soft and bright, and the typical representatives are the "Eile Song" and "Xizhou Song": Eilechuan, under the Yin Mountain. The sky is like a dome, covering the four wildernesses. The sky is blue, the wilderness is vast, the wind blows the grass and sees the cattle and sheep.
Picking lotus in Nantang autumn, lotus over the head. Bow your head and get lotus seeds, lotus seeds are as green as water. In the sleeve of the lotus, the lotus heart is completely red. Yi Lang Lang did not come, looking up at Feihong. From the Southern Dynasty folk song "Xizhou Song" (excerpt), from "Yutai New Song".
And when the Sui Dynasty was established, this tradition of collecting folk songs into Yuefu poems seemed to be broken all of a sudden. But their influence continued to later generations, until the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, and there were still great poets who imitated the poetic style of Yuefu.
Folk songs are not just meant to be sung, they also have their own unique role. Among some ethnic minorities in the Celestial Empire, folk songs such as "Meige", "Ancient Songs", "Panwang Songs" and so on are circulated to sing long narrative poems and historical poems.
These songs describe ancient myths and legends about the origin of the universe and human beings, the understanding of some natural phenomena by the ancestors, and the knowledge of history, production, life and etiquette. These songs have little ups and downs, are highly recitative, and are long, with some lyrics tens of thousands of lines long. It usually takes hours, or even days, to finish. Most of these songs are sung by shamans or respected elders during festivals, rituals, or wedding and funeral ceremonies, and the atmosphere is solemn.
It is also a rite of life, and there are four most important stages in life, namely birth, adulthood, marriage, and death. Among the many peoples of the Celestial Empire, folk songs permeated these four rituals. For example, the "Yangzi song" sung by the Yi midwife, the funeral songs of the Zhuang, Miao, and Pumi peoples, and so on.
It also has a miraculous ritual effect to ward off evil spirits. In some ethnic groups, folk songs are often used in ancestor worship activities, as well as rituals presided over by shamans and goddesses to exorcise evil spirits and eliminate diseases and disasters. For example, the Dai people's "sacrifice to the gods", "Shi Niang", and "divination tune". The Dong people's "stepping on the hall song" and so on.
Finally, it also has a communicative function, and the communicative functions of folk songs include love, communication, sending to usher, and fighting wits on songs. As a medium for communication between the opposite sex, it was a very important function of folk songs among many peoples of the Celestial Empire. The traditional singing programs of some ethnic groups are also often associated with this. For example, the "Song Market" of the Zhuang people, the "Youfang" of the Miao people, the "walking slope" of the Lao people, and so on. On the day of the festival, hundreds of young men and women gather in a dedicated outdoor singing arena to mingle, play and sing songs that last all night for days and nights. There are also some ethnic groups, such as the Brown, Kino, Dai and southern Dong areas, where young men go to the girl's house to sing and find a mate.
Such a unique folk song created brilliance in ancient times, so according to the aesthetics of Yelu Ziye, he was so interested in the song sung by Abu. Coupled with the tunes and lyrics provided by Lu Xiaoyu, coupled with Abu's unique voice, Yelu Ziye, who can only play the piano, was deeply attracted by his singing. He couldn't help but sigh: "I always thought that my piano skills were enough to shock people's hearts and I didn't need to sing." But today, after listening to your singing and music, I realized the importance of this music accompanied by singing. What song did you just sing and why is it so beautiful? Is it your masterpiece or the masterpiece of which gentleman in Nanchu? ”
