Chapter 1037: The Bodhisattva of All Incense Asks the Dharma (3)

Where is the principle of karma in Buddhism? If a very bad person has good fortune, it is the karma of the good retribution brought about by the good roots of his past life that he has not received, so this life is good. The bad karma created in this life will be retributed in the next life.

Cause and effect are not so realistic, it is not the same as gambling money to do business, and the money can be earned back immediately after it goes down. Therefore, a person who cultivates the bodhisattva path does not seek good retribution, so he sows all kinds of good roots, so that he will not be tired, and he will not be mentally tired if he does not care whether he has received good retribution or not.

"Staying in peace, convenient for dedication. Seek the law unremittingly, and the law is unrelenting."

A person who truly studies Buddhism has always resides in his ambition and is convenient for dedication. Convenience is to use various methods anytime and anywhere, and dedication is the meaning of giving, but what you give will still come back to you, which is the principle of reincarnation.

Those who study Buddhism often make merits such as chanting sutras and worshiping the Buddha, and they know that they should dedicate themselves to all sentient beings.

It's easy to think about the dedication, but if he really takes things out, I'm afraid it's harder.

But it's good to think so, I'm afraid I don't even have this idea. Therefore, we must first train ourselves to have this thought, and when we get used to it, it will slowly turn into behavior.

I sometimes make fun of my young colleague, he says that he has already dedicated, and I say, you can dedicate yourself by visualizing it, and you don't spend a dime, of course you do it.

But can it be done in behavior? For example, now that the Chinese New Year is coming, you have 10,000 yuan of money on you, and you see that others can't celebrate the New Year, so you lack 9,800 yuan, you can help him happily, give the money, don't look back, and leave, I'm afraid it will be difficult. So it's hard to behave, and it's not something you can just sit there and visualize.

What about the bodhisattva's dedication? It is necessary to pay attention to the word "dwelling", which is to be willing to give in the heart, to be at ease with this act, and to do this kind of convenient dedication.

Therefore, those who study the Bodhisattva Tao will not be slack off in any kind of cultivation method, and they will do their best to explain the Dharma to others.

You see, the scripture says, "Seek the Dharma tirelessly, and there is no sorrow in the Dharma." I think it's easy, but when you really want to do it, it's hard. For example, when we asked for the Fa, we really had to plead, kneel, kowtow, and bow. There's no such thing now, demand the Fa, as if you should tell him.

Confucianism has an allusion to "Chengmen Lixue", which is called unremitting. And Zen Buddhism has earlier the deeds of Lixue seeking the Dharma, which is the experience of the second ancestor seeking the Dharma from the Bodhidharma Patriarch, and the second ancestor even cut off the arm in the end to make offerings, which everyone is familiar with.

There is another example of unremitting pursuit of the Dharma, Master Xuanzang went to India to seek the Dharma, and he walked through the desert area of the great northwest, and the kind of hardship is really not something we can imagine. Master Xuanzang will never retreat, he is ready to die on the road. He was accompanied by a dozen monks, all of whom died on the way.

It is not easy to say that there is no shame, the habit of the Central Plains people is always to keep a hand, keep the important places, and then make a decision after you investigate.

In the past, when I studied boxing and medicine, the teacher kept a hand, but then there was nothing. It is very difficult to speak without a heart of compassion and with a mindset of generosity.

"Offering to the Buddhas diligently, so that there is no fear in life and death."

All of the above are the actions of a student of Buddhism to make offerings to the Buddhas. When we study Buddhism, we often talk about making offerings, but with what offerings?

Offering to the Buddhas by practicing the Buddha's path and following the teachings of the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Where are you going to find the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas? It's not to go to the West Heaven to find it, all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are in the world, you can't recognize it, and he won't talk about it.

He is in the cycle of life and death, but he is not bound by life and death. Therefore, if you want to jump out of the red dust and study Buddhism, it is fundamentally wrong, and those who have achieved it are not afraid of life and death, and are not afraid of suffering, but they have to go to the place of suffering to educate sentient beings.

"In all honor and disgrace, I feel free and happy. It is not light that it has not been learned, but it is like a Buddha".
