Chapter 7: Colleagues (I)

As soon as he opened the office door, Xu Jun was shaken by the scene in front of him.

Jack is a collector, Xu Jun knows. He likes to make the office gorgeous and beautiful, and Xu Jun knows it. Xu Jun has also seen this luxurious office in his memory. But when he actually stood in this office, Xu Jun found that this place was more luxurious and shocking than he remembered.

Although this office is as big as Hitler's, it is renovated like a palace, and to put it more clearly, it is a storage room in the palace.

A complete set of Louis XIV ivory office furniture, with fine gilt copper lace at every corner. The pure white wool carpet is embroidered with a purple rose pattern. All four walls are covered with ornate gilded pattern wallpaper. A large crystal chandelier with a diameter of one meter hangs from the top. On the left wall hang several beautiful oil paintings, all of which are portraits of Raphael's figures, which you can tell at a glance that they are genuine. Even in 1940, it was a priceless treasure.

Against the wall were three shining pieces of armor, the silver-plated surface was free of flaws and scars, and the level of craftsmanship was perfect. Judging by the design of the helmet and the gold coat of arms inlaid on the cuirass, it should have belonged to the collection of the Polish royal family. On the wall next to the armor hangs a row of medieval weapons, all of which are inlaid with gold and silver. Xu Jun couldn't understand how such a non-military-minded guy could think of collecting armor and weapons. There are also several marble statues in the corner, which are supposed to be from the Roman era, and it is unknown how much effort it took the German soldiers to get them in.

Other fine porcelain and handicrafts were everywhere, and among them, Xu Jun even recognized a few pieces of porcelain from China's official kilns.

"O national treasure! All of them are national treasures! ”

Seeing so many cultural relics, Xu Jun was almost fainted with excitement. He looked at this one moment, touched that one moment and another, completely immersed in these exquisite artifacts and artifacts, forgetting the time, forgetting everything.

Just as Xu Jun was carefully identifying the origin of a blue and white sea bowl, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

Xu Jun reluctantly put down the bowl. Then Ruhr opened the door and walked in, and he said to Xu Jun

"Your Excellency, the Führer has asked me to invite you to the restaurant."

"Okay, let's go."

Xu Jun put on the military hat placed on the table, and walked towards the restaurant under the leadership of Ruhr.

The feast in the dining room has been set. Hitler sat at one end of a long table covered with snow-white tablecloths, and the generals and Nazi officials sat on either side, where they were laughing loudly.

Pretty flowers and shiny silver cutlery were laid out on the table, freshly baked bread had an enticing aroma in the bread basket, and fresh butter sparkled on small silver plates.

Xu Jun walked into the restaurant, and everyone stood up under Hitler's leadership, and then began to applaud enthusiastically. Xu Jun hurriedly walked to the table and greeted Hitler. Then he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues for being so warmly welcomed. Hitler had already left him an empty seat in the place closest to himself. At Hitler's beckoning, everyone sat down.

When everyone was seated, Hitler glanced at his subordinates on either side with sharp eyes, stood up and began to speak. He first expressed his satisfaction and welcome to Xu Jun's safe return, and then he began to talk endlessly about how important and great Xu Jun's victory was, and how difficult Xu Jun's battle was, and also touted how superb Xu Jun's military talent was and how persevering his spirit was.

Originally, as soon as he finished saying this, he could ask the chef to serve the food and start eating, but no one expected that seeing that his speech was about to end, his topic began to shift to those old European strategies, German revival, racial superiority and inferiority, and so on. What was supposed to be a short welcome speech turned into a long speech. The poor elite of the empire had to go hungry and continue to be bombarded with this horrific fatigue.

Xu Jun began to look at the others in the audience as soon as Hitler began to speak, and after reading it, he gasped in his heart, half of the senior leaders of the Third Reich were indeed here.

On his way to the restaurant, Ruhr told him that Hitler had recruited these Nazi party cadres from Berlin the previous evening under the pretext of holding a regular meeting of the Nazi Party. It seems that Hitler did go out of his way to make a splash for his Army Idol Project.

The first thing Xu Jun saw was Goering, who had not gained much weight in 1940, and now he can only be said to be burly, but he has clearly begun to develop in that direction. Göring wore a white air marshal's gown, with no medals on his chest, only a pilot's badge embroidered with gold thread, and on his collar the Blue Marcos Medal, which he had received on June 2, 1918, a beautiful cross-shaped medal, which had been awarded to him for his exploits at one station, which he always carried. And his beautiful red marshal's scepter rested on the table to his right. When Goering saw Xu Jun looking at him, he immediately turned his face away, without even looking at Xu Jun.

Xu Jun knew that Jack had a good relationship with Goering before, but it was only after Hitler came to power that the two began to fight each other because of the competition for various budgets, resources, and wealth, and because of the unpleasant things that happened at several regular meetings, the two have now reached the point of incompatibility.

Sitting next to Goering was Goebbels, the Minister of National Education and Propaganda of the Third Reich, a shrewd and capable fellow, Hitler's most powerful tongue, and half of all the propaganda of the Third Reich came from him. He was an ardent admirer of Hitler, having climbed from the editor of a Nazi tabloid to his current position in ten years by fanatically touting Hitler. But Hitler probably thought of him because he was one of only two strongmen in the All-Nazi Party who could listen to his gushing speeches for days on end without getting sleepy.

The skinny doctor of literature sat next to the burly Goering, and the two men were in stark contrast, like a comical pair. Goebbels wore a gray suit with a thin black tie. When Goebbels noticed that Xu Jun was looking at him, he smiled and nodded to Xu Jun. Because of Jack's position and status, Goebbels has always maintained close contact with him, and the two have a good personal relationship, and Jack even went to his house as a guest and had a few light meals.

Sitting next to our emaciated propaganda minister was the other of the two strongmen mentioned earlier. The notorious national commander-in-chief of the SS Heinrich. Himmler.

Now this guy with the title of "honor" of Germany's biggest executioner in World War II, Killer Demon King, Bloody Butcher, etc., is listening to Hitler's speech with relish, and he is so focused that he doesn't even blink his eyes, which makes Xu Jun admire the five bodies to the ground.

Heinrich at that time. Himmler's loyalty to Hitler was unparalleled, and he loved the Führer so passionately that he was even sick. Whatever Hitler said was treated as truth, and anyone who slandered or tried to oppose Hitler would be brutally exterminated by him. Hitler once said about Heinrich. Himmler was the man he trusted the most, because if Hitler wanted him to kill his grandmother, or kill all the men in the country, or all the people in the country with "A" or "D" in their names, Himmler would have done so without hesitation.

The chicken-farmer-turned-SS captain wore his black SS uniform, Hitler's hairstyle, and a pair of silver-rimmed glasses, and he stared motionlessly at his spitting Führer, his eyes shining with excitement and adoration. It seems that even if Xu Jun stands directly in front of him now, he won't pay attention.

However, his relationship with Jack is closer than Jack's relationship with Goebbels. One is because of Jack's status as the deputy head of state, which is also the idol he admires. The second is that the two people have a common enemy, Goering. Goering has always looked down on Himmler, who was born as a chicken, which made Himmler always have a grudge against Goering. The third is that both men are equally ruthless, especially when it comes to dealing with Jews.

It is because of the above three articles that the two regard each other as confidants, and they are about to cut off the head of the chicken and burn the yellow paper to become brothers.
