Chapter 525: The Importance of Customs

"You weren't in the lacquer garden at the time, how do you know that the lacquer garden people didn't strip the deceased of their clothes, and buried the deceased in their own vegetable garden to use as fertilizer?" The shopkeeper of the restaurant asked.

The fat chef also helped: "This may be possible!" It's no secret anymore, it's an open secret. Generally, when dealing with the battlefield, they will do this, and when they treat foreign soldiers who have died, they will generally strip off their clothes and bury them in a large pit, which is called a 'mass grave'.

It is conceivable that if the clothes of the 30,000 dead were stripped off, they could be piled up as high as a hill. A piece of clothing can sell for a few pennies, but it can also sell for a lot of silver! Who sees it is not greedy. So! It is very likely that the Qiyuan people really stripped the deceased of their clothes. What about burying the deceased in their own vegetable garden to make fertilizer and planting melons and fruits on it the next year? ”

Zhuangzi looked at the two of them and kept shaking his head.

He didn't count it in his heart.

But? He believes! Even if the Qiyuan people did that at the time, they would definitely cover it up afterwards, and they would not admit that they did that, and they would not admit that they stripped the deceased of their clothes and buried the deceased as fertilizer in their own vegetable garden.

According to Taoist theory, this is very likely.

Taoists believe that people and all things come from the Tao and return to the Tao after death. So! When a person dies, there is no need to be buried or anything.

Taoism is a philosophy of survival, believing that human beings, like all things, are meant to complete the process of this life. Being alive is an unavoidable choice for us as human beings. To live for the sake of living is the purpose of life. So! Try to keep yourself alive until you die.

The mainstream of thought in society is to bury the dead according to traditional concepts, rather than according to Taoist theories.

So! In order to cater to the tide of society, better integrate into this society, integrate into the public, and mingle with the people around them, Taoists will not be independent, and they will not bury the dead according to the Taoist burial method. But! Conformity, follow the customs, and choose to live like the people around you.

Only by living the same life as the people around us, not being maverick, not being different, and getting along with the people around us, can we live better.

So! It's important to follow the custom and conform to the herd! But! Conformity is not the same as vulgarity.

So! Taoists will choose to bury the dead with the same burial rites as the people around them.

In the scriptures of Lao Tzu, the ancestor of Taoism, the burial method is also mentioned. Say! The dead of a hostile nation should be buried with funeral rites.

In fact! That's from the point of view of human nature, from the point of view of secularism. It is to appease people's hearts, to dissolve the boundaries between countries, to calm the war, and to disintegrate the armament thinking of military personnel.

The purpose of appeasing people is to get people to oppose the war. When there are no borders between countries, where are there wars between countries? The people are not willing to go to war anymore, where can they fight war. Soldiers don't want to go to war anymore, and who else wants to go to war?

This is the theory of "funeral burial" put forward by Lao Tzu, the ancestor of Taoism.

And Zhuangzi believes that "funeral burial" is to prove that he is not a maverick. Not being a maverick is to integrate into the lives of the people around you, to mingle with the people around you, regardless of each other.

Only if we live the same life as those around us can we integrate into this large social group.

We have to follow the customs! Do as the Romans do! But! Not vulgar!

What is Vulgarity? To put it simply, vulgarity is to take the status quo, reality, and the way of life of the masses as the truth, thinking that everyone lives like this, which is life. In fact! This is vulgarity!

When you see what others do, you imitate them, and you think that life should be like this, which is vulgarity.

For example, if you see someone else taking wedding photos, you can take wedding dresses regardless of your own financial situation, which is vulgar; Seeing that everyone else wears a famous brand, and regardless of their own economic situation, they buy a famous brand to wear, this is vulgar; It is vulgar to see others buying several properties, regardless of their own financial situation; Seeing others eating foreign fast food, entering high-end clubs, playing romance, and imitating others is vulgar......

And following the customs and conforming to the crowd is to get along better with the people around them, so they have to do it.

We should follow the customs, follow the customs, not be mavericks and go against the people around us. If you go against the people around you, you won't be able to fit in well with the people around you, and you won't be able to fit into this circle of life.

According to Taoist theory, the dead can be buried however they want. Can be buried in the sky! Can be buried in a tree! You can bury in a cave! Can be buried in water! It can also be buried and buried......

In a word! One rule, no matter how you bury the dead, you can't affect the lives of the people around you. You can choose a sky burial, where the deceased is left alone in the deceased's home, which is also a sky burial, where the body of the deceased is naturally disposed of. What the deceased had during his lifetime became his burial companion.

The families of the deceased are willing to do the same, but! Doing so may affect the lives of the deceased's neighbors and those around them.

The deceased can be buried at home, but! When the corpse is decomposed, it will smell and cause infectious diseases. Such! It affects the lives and survival of others. So! This method of celestial burial is inappropriate and violates the Taoist philosophy of survival.

The Taoist philosophy of survival is: do not influence others, and do not be influenced by others.

You can throw the dead into the mountains and forests, and no one will blame you. Because! You don't affect the lives and survival of the people around you. Opposite! Thou hast also brought food to wild beasts, and fowls, and to the insects of the earth......

This is an authentic Taoist thought, which does not affect the survival and life of others, nor is it affected by the survival and life of others.

I have my way of life, my way of being, and my way of life tries not to affect you. You have your way of life, your way of being, I don't envy it, and you can't influence me. You must come to influence me, force me, impose me, and I will try to avoid it. When there is no way to avoid it, I will kill you.

It's that simple!

Because! You have seriously affected my survival, I don't resist me and wait for death?

Zhuangzi still doesn't believe it, and the Taoists of Qiyuan didn't take this issue into account? What happens when they strip the dead of their clothes and bury them in their own vegetable gardens to use as fertilizer?

Anyone with a little brains will think about the consequences of this!

Are you kidding? You didn't offend the Koreans, you offended the families of the 30,000 dead in South Korea, but! The whole world.

In today's Great Zhou Dynasty, all the princes in the country, the traditional burial customs are still popular. You are a maverick, you are buried according to Taoist theory, aren't you asking for trouble for yourself, making the world your enemy?

This is a serious violation of the Taoist principle of "integrating into life, integrating into the lives of the people around you, and living like the people around you"!

So! Zhuangzi thinks! Even if the Qiyuan people really stripped the deceased of his clothes and buried the deceased in his vegetable garden as fertilizer to plant melons and fruits on it the next year, he would not have made it public. On the surface! It will definitely be "buried with a funeral".

Even if Zhang Shan didn't have that brain, he couldn't think of this problem. So! With the wisdom of my sister-in-law, I will definitely think of this problem.

For Zhang Shan's brain, Zhuangzi is really a little worried. But for his sister-in-law, he is absolutely assured.

When he was in Qiyuan, he accepted such two precious disciples. He believes! At this critical juncture! His Zhuangzi disciples are definitely not of a bad breed.

Zhuangzi patted his chest and assured: "Not only will the Qiyuan people not strip the clothes of the deceased and bury the deceased as fertilizer in their own vegetable garden, but they will not plant melons and fruits on it in the next year." Opposite! The people of Qiyuan will also bury those dead Korean soldiers with a grand funeral! Such! is in line with the teachings of Taoism! Unbelief? Don't believe it, don't you? ”

Seeing that the shopkeeper of the restaurant and the chef looked unconvinced, Zhuangzi said again: "I don't believe you can go and check?" One! Send someone to the lacquer garden to check! Be sure to send a reliable person to check, preferably yourself, to see if it's true. Two! You can go back and look at the moral scriptures of Lao Tzu, the ancestor of Taoism. ”
