On this day, Maitreya Bodhisattva inadvertently glanced down, and saw that in Luoyang City, a group of believers were inviting one of their statues into the Daxiong Treasure Hall, and they couldn't help but be a little annoyed - although they are future Buddhas, but now the world of Suva is in the period of Shakyamuni Buddha's imagery, and its leader is naturally Shakyamuni Buddha. Therefore, this practice of the believers is not in line with the Buddhist system. Fortunately, more than a hundred years later, Tang Wuzong was about to launch a crazy campaign to exterminate Buddha, and these halls and statues would also be turned into ashes, so he didn't pay attention to it.

Maitreya Bodhisattva just wanted to ascend the lion's bed pedestal on the Mani Hall in the Seven Treasures Terrace, and continue to tell the "Journey of the Unregressive Land" for the 50 billion celestial people of Tushi Tuotian, when suddenly a boy came to report that Manjushri Bodhisattva in the cool world was visiting.

Among the great bodhisattvas, Maitreya is the symbol of great mercy, while Manjushri is the representative of great wisdom, and is deeply admired by people for his great wisdom that penetrates the heavens and the earth. Manjushri is the teacher of the Seven Buddhas, and even the teacher of Maitreya, the teacher of Shakyamuni, the Ancient Buddha of the Burning Lamp, is also his student.

Maitreya quickly welcomed Manjushri in and invited him to the lion's acne.

Manjushri didn't speak, but looked at Maitreya and laughed. Maitreya became the second monk - he was so laughed that he couldn't figure it out. Manjushri finally spoke: "Maitreya, more than 1,000 years ago, one of the ten disciples of Shakyamuni Buddha, Upali (known for holding vows), said that you 'have an ordinary body and have not broken all the omissions; If you don't meditate, you keep worrying', it seems, has been fulfilled again. You see. ”

Maitreya followed the direction indicated by Manjushri and saw that in the Tang Dynasty in the southern Zhanbu Prefecture of Suva World, there was a place called Dunhuang where there was a grotto being excavated on a large scale. Inside one of the grottoes, a painted image of itself is being shaped. The statue is 120 feet (36 meters) high, wearing a crown and a dragon robe, just like the Emperor Zetian.

Manjushri pointed to the statue and smiled, "This, Maitreya Buddha?" Wu Zetian also? If it is Maitreya, it has a picture of Wu Zetian's face; If it is Wu Zetian, people worship it as Maitreya Buddha. ”

Maitreya didn't care, and said, "The Guru Shakyamuni Buddha said in the Diamond Sutra: All appearances are false; If you see things that are not like each other, you will see them as they are. Therefore, whether it is Maitreya or Wu Cao, they are all vain, let it be left to its own devices, let it be. ”

Manjushri said: "Although the truth is good, Wu Zetian took advantage of the people's belief in your Maitreya and regarded himself as the reincarnation of Maitreya Bodhisattva, not only gained power because of this, but also had a sacred cloak for her many intrigues and brutal killings. And all this, inevitably, desecrated the reputation of Buddhism. What's even more odious is that Wu Zetian pretended to be the reincarnation of Maitreya and set a very bad example for the world, which will surely have an extremely bad impact, and many careerists of all kinds in later generations will inevitably follow suit, in the name of Maitreya's birth, or revolt and rebel, or confuse the people. These actions not only distort the true face of Maitreya, but also tarnish the holiness of Buddhism. ”

As he spoke, Manjushri flicked his fingers and presented an event that would happen decades later in advance in front of Maitreya: during the reign of Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, Wang Huaigu of Beizhou (now Qinghe City, Hebei Province) followed Wu Zetian's example and was also born as a 'new Buddha', confusing the public with evil words......

Manjushri snapped his fingers again, and time and space were converted to the period of Renzong of the Northern Song Dynasty, still in Beizhou, and there was another rebellion of Wang Ze. He instigated the Maitreya followers to rebel, proclaimed himself the lord of Dongping, and established the country as Anyang, and the year name was saintly......

As soon as Manjushri was about to snap his fingers again, Maitreya smiled and waved his hand, and said, "It seems that if we do not stop it, the chaos in my name will surely become a common practice." Therefore, it can no longer be left unchecked. Although this bell is not tied by me, it has something to do with me. Then I will go to the mortal world in my own body and show up to say the Dharma in order to hear and hear the truth. ”

Manjushri said yes.

Maitreya smiled and said, "Great Wisdom Manjushri, you are the second time of the ancient Buddha, please help me." ”

Manjushri smiled, then threw out the wishful thinking in his hand, fluttered and fell into the heavenly river, and turned into a small boat in the shape of a lotus canopy. Maitreya then sailed down the river in a boat and drifted from Tushita to the mortal world......

Manjushri watched Maitreya drift away and chanted softly:

Maitreya is really Maitreya, with hundreds of billions of doppelgangers.
