Chapter 18: The Goblin Traveling Merchant

"How about this, everybody?" the goblin pulled out a fish from the chest, a half-meter-long air-dried barracuda with no head, to be exact.

"Isn't this a very common air-dried barracuda? If long standing is an advantage, then it's not useless. Felder was puzzled. He had some suspicions that the dwarf in front of him was a liar pretending to be a traveling merchant, and he actually used a dried fish to fool people.

The goblin didn't speak, grabbed the barracuda's tail and swung it at the wall next to it. The missing part of the air-dried barracuda hit the wall with a muffled thud and sparks erupted. The crowd stood in place with wide eyes, the dried barracuda uncanny intact, but the surface of the boulder wall was scratched with a shallow white mark.

"See? It's an air-dried barracuda comparable to a steel sword!" the goblin looked at the crowd and shook his head slightly, smirking smugly. He paused for a moment and said mysteriously: "This is not an ordinary dried fish, it is said that a magic weapon made by a famous enchanter, although it is a bit of a bad taste, but it is also a magic weapon. Now all you need is a gold coin, how about it?"

"It's a good weapon, but it's not quite for ......me," Felder smiled politely, thinking to himself: Oh my God, the knight with a dried barracuda as a weapon?

"Oh well. The goblin's long ears drooped a little, and there was some disappointment in his eyes. He put the dried barracuda back in the box and took out one more thing......

In a matter of minutes, the goblin pulled out more than a dozen boring and useless gadgets from the chest: a clockwork mechanical crab toy, an apple that Prince Atagar had bitten, an ancient elven coin of unknown origin, a solar-powered flashlight, and a fist-sized beast tooth...... Just when everyone had already given up, the goblin pulled out a black square box.

"That's all there is to it, I'll show you. The goblin drooped his head, his ears pressed to the top of his head, and said listlessly.

"What is this?" Vane took the box in his hand and observed, and Felder and the others gathered around.

The box is slightly larger than the palm of your hand, and the surface is made of some kind of metal, which is cold but not heavy to the touch. The box looks very delicate, with a circular bump in front of it with glass embedded in it and several buttons on the side. The back is engraved with two lines of small letters: "waterproof, dustproof, shockproof" and "Crazy Gear Goblin Technology Laboratory".

"It's called a camera, and I bought it from a colleague in Divosk a year ago, and although it's an old item, it cost a dozen gold coins. This thing was very popular among the nobility of Casali, but it was so expensive that ordinary people simply could not afford it. Hell knows what I thought......" the goblin said as he stepped forward to retrieve the camera from Vane's hand.

"What is the camera for?" Vane didn't mean to return the goblin, he raised the camera slightly.

The goblin's raised hand froze in the air, and his face turned greener. After a while, he put down his hand and said in a dissatisfied tone: "It can save the appearance of the surrounding moment! You can return it to me, I have some other ...... here that suits you."

"Click!" a crisp sound emanated from the camera in Vane's hand, and a blinding flash of light lit up the street for a split second.

"You, you, you!!" the goblin jumped up in anger, and he pointed at Vane and shouted, "Do you know how much a piece of photo paper costs?!"

"Squeak squeak......" The camera went off again, and it wasn't long before a piece of paper appeared in Vane's hand. It was a vivid painting of a goblin with a broad-brimmed straw hat raising his arm over his eyes, a street lined with large stones, dimly lit, and a pony with a chest hanging from it......

Wait, isn't this what it looks like right now? No, I think it looks like when I pressed the button. Vane was momentarily incredulous that this little thing was as magical as magic.

"Forget it, you can pay it back to me, you don't have to lose money. The goblin made a look of "count me unlucky".

"I bought this camera, how about twenty gold coins?" Vane said, shaking the camera in his hand and lashing at the goblin.

"Vane, you're crazy! This thing looks good, but it's not worth twenty gold coins!" Felder grabbed Vane's shoulders and shook him, as if trying to wake him up from his dream. Twenty gold coins is not a small amount, enough to make an ordinary family live for several years.

Hearing this, the goblin's ears suddenly stood up, his eyes became bright, and he stammered a little when he spoke: "Dang...... Absolutely!"

Eventually, Vane borrowed ten gold coins from Elena and bought the camera. He taught him the basics of using Venn's camera, and gave him the dozens of remaining pieces of photographic paper, which are said to cost about five silver coins each. The goblin led the pony and disappeared around the corner of the street humming an out-of-tune ditty.

"Wayne, you really don't spend it, you spend it to the end. Felder teased Vane as he walked, his tone relaxed - he didn't borrow his money anyway.

"Elena, I'll pay you back as soon as I have the money......" Vane scratched the back of his head, his voice getting quieter and quieter, obviously lacking confidence. Elena, of course, as the head of the regiment, was more generous, so she could only glare at him and leave him with a back.

It didn't take long for the number of pedestrians on the road to increase. The streets here look even busier than the Iron Heart Inn, with lots of shops, people coming and going, and shouting and shouting.

"I think we're there. Vane paused, looking up at a shop in front of him. On the hollowed-out wrought iron sign hanging in the air, the words "Neil's Hammer" look quite artistic, but a hammer pattern on it almost ruined the mood.

Neil's hammer didn't look much different from the rest of the smithy, the boulder walls were dimly lit, the ground on either side of the doorway was lined with iron felt, and a young dwarf was sitting next to him, holding up a hammer and striking hard against a metal bar in his hand.

"Excuse me, is Mr. Neil here?" asked Elena, smiling.

"I'm sorry everyone, the teacher is resting, just come to me if you need anything, my name is Rupert. The young dwarf stopped beating and smiled a little shyly.

"Well, we have an ore that Mr. Neil needs to identify. Felder said as he pulled the black stone out of his bag.

The dwarf named Rupert stood up, stepped forward, took the ore, and looked at it over and over again.

"It's not your average ore, I think the teacher will be interested in him. Rupert tapped his pants with a hint of excitement in his voice and said, "Come with me." ”
