In 1921, Mr. Yuan published two of his earliest vernacular essays, A Group of Wives and Concubines and The Village Teacher.

"A Group of Wives and Concubines", which was published in New Youth in February of this year, is his famous work and an important work in the history of modern literature. However, at this time, one of Mr. Yuan's limerick poems was transmitted back to China, which is said to have been written by his "confidante" in Chinatown. The poem he wrote is still preserved in the Yuan Yanqian Museum in New York.

Shiyun: The romance does not let Cai Songpo, and a large number of people dare to laugh at Hu Shizhi. The flower protection is better than Chen Zhongfu, and the payment is faster than Master Kong.

The meaning of these four sentences is that he has prostitutes more than these four, which is really laughable.

Mr. Hu Shi had a generous temperament, laughed at this, and later became a good friend of Mr. Yuan.

Chen Zhongfu was known for his extreme stubbornness, and this was a great shame in his life, so he hated him so much that he later described Mr. Yuan as "a lackey of US imperialism."

Mr. Kang Youwei was considered "highly respected" at that time, and criticism was not without criticism, so he had to leave it alone. However, the knot in his heart was planted, otherwise Mr. Kang would not have written the crossing of "Bangqing" in the future.

However, Liang Qichao was quite unhappy after reading this poem, because it was written about his beloved disciple Cai Yi. However, at that time, the Chinese public school had hired Mr. Yuan as a professor of economics, and he also liked Mr. Yuan's talent.

When someone asked, Liang Qichao just said, "Hong Gradually, crazy life." ”。 This sentence immediately spread all over the country.

Therefore, Mr. Yuan Yanqian has not yet returned to China, and he has already borne the name of madness, and he really deserves to be "the last madman in China" ......"

In fact, Mr. Yuan's near-body poems are also good, and there are often wonderful sentences. For example, he wrote to his fiancée Ms. Wei Mingzhu before marriage, "I once whipped a famous horse because of drunkenness, for fear that I would be tired of beauties".

However, as the "Yuan Shuai" of the vernacular literary movement, after returning to China, he deliberately did not write such literary works, but wrote a lot of limericks and many famous couplets.

In 1922, Mr. Yuan had a little conflict with his father, and he wrote a couplet for his younger brother to bring to the old man.

The upper link is: the peach blossom fan in the peach blossom hermitage. The next link is: willow word on the shore of willow.

This couplet is embedded with four allusions to the four geniuses, which is really elegant.

After reading it, his father smiled bitterly and said to others that the old man couldn't be a genius, but he gave birth to a madman. The father and son reconciled.

After this incident was reported by the "Declaration", it also became a beautiful talk in the market.

In 1939, the news of the death of Wu Peifu, a famous Beiyang general, was transmitted to Chongqing.

Mr. Yuan happened to be in the capital at this time. Although he has always been high-minded and arrogant, he has a very good relationship with Wu Ziyu. The latter also appreciated the talent of this little brother.

At that time, he was very sad, and scolded a sentence that others couldn't understand, damn S value!

So Yuan Yanqian set up a mourning hall for his friend in Chongqing, but the elegy he wrote caused a lot of trouble.

The upper part of this couplet is: The old Beiyang is still known to be martyred, and the lower couplet is: The new Whampoa only knows how to eat (crossed out) salary. Horizontal batch: the new is not as good as the old.

It is conceivable that Chongqing was in an uproar, and the military of the Nationalist Government was even more indignant, and some people even wanted to lead troops to theorize with Mr. Yuan.

However, he was a guest of honor in the state government and an important "friendly person" from the United States, so the matter was finally suppressed by the above.

In fact, Mr. Yuan Yanqi's most famous couplet was given to the Jiang couple. Because it is too famous, the author will not repeat it.

On December 1, 1927, the day of the marriage of Chiang and Song, leaflets bearing this couplet were distributed to all corners of Shanghai. In fact, Mr. Yuan was not in China at that time, but he was a hundred-year-old mountain leader, and some Hongmen disciples helped him do things.

This couplet made the newlyweds so angry that not only did the old Jiang burst into a rage, but Mrs. Song never said a word to Mr. Yuan later, and the reason was ......"

Mr. Yuan Yanqian is good at appreciating the figures of the times, and has also created a "seven-character song formula".

The last three words of this seven-character song recipe are the names or pronouns of the characters he evaluates, but the first four words are a rhetoric.

FOR EXAMPLE, THE TWO-SLEEVED BREEZE LI HEFEI, THE LOVE OF THE PEOPLE SUCH AS THE SON ZENG CHANGSHA, THE QING LOYAL MINISTER YUAN XIANGCHENG, THE QING ZHEN FRIEND ZUO XIANGYIN.

He said that Mr. Zhongshan was "the first soldier Sun Sandalwood", and said that Huang Xing was "a generation of military god Huang Keding". and used "Tao Huanqing who died as he deserved" and "Chen Dudu (Chen Qimei)" to satirize the ugly things that Guangdong had done before.
