The most amazing thing in the garden is the ancient spring, which is quite elegant in the rich atmosphere. On February 16 of the third year of Qingyuan, the Empress Dowager Cifu (that is, the Empress Dowager Wu) issued an edict to give an idle garden to the current young master and the king of Pingyuan County, Han Gong. This piece of land is at the east foot of Lin'an Phoenix Mountain, and the water of the West Lake flows through it, which is made in heaven and earth, and the beauty of the lake and mountains is extremely full. After Han Gong accepted the order of mercy, he took out his own Yulu, according to its natural topography, supplemented by elegance, and built it, which was called the South Garden.

When Han Gong came to this park, he looked back and forth, left and right, so as to determine its general planning layout. According to the height of the landform, open up the narrow and blocked places, make them bright and open, and build the landscape. A variety of exotic flowers and plants are planted in the garden, and many tall and precious trees are transplanted. In the clear spring and flowing water, there are strange peaks and boulders, and when you look up, it seems that people are giving up. The pavilion of the viewing platform, the hall and the pavilion built are lofty and magnificent, beautiful, not only can put on the utensils to worship the heavens and the ancestors, but also can play musical instruments, enjoy the song and dance. The pavilions set on the heights are spacious, bright and spotless; The rockery cave is tortuous and deep, and the willows are dark and bright. After the garden was repaired, the name of the landscape was all selected from the poems of Wei Zhongxian in the ancestors. The largest building is named Xu Xian, and the book written by the saint himself is hung in front of the church. Among them, the hall that can be used for shooting is called Herong, the viewing platform is called Hanbi, there is a round gate called Zangchun, and the flying pavilion is called Lingfeng. The name of the pavilion has far dust, secluded green, and many crops.

Since the Shaoxing period, the princes and generals have built many gardens, but none of them can match the South Garden. However, is Han Gong's ambition only to visit and appreciate the beauty of the scenery? The previous building is called Xu Xian, and the manor behind is called Gui Geng, which is Han Gong's ambition. Han Gong took such a name, all from the poem of loyalty to the king, so the ambition of Han Gong is to inherit the will of the ancestor to be loyal to the king. At that time, he was the same era as the king of loyalty, and he enjoyed glory and wealth because of his fame, and he was the only one who paid homage to the prince? One hundred and forty-five years later, the vast majority is unknown and unaware. However, only the descendants of the Han family can follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, promote virtues, and their merits are enough to be remembered in Yiding, go down in history, and be passed on to future generations. In the generation of Han Gong, the hard-working Wang family, Xun was in Sheji, and restored the grand occasion of loyalty to the king back then. And he is humble and awe-inspiring, sincere and deep, indifferent, does not seek fame and fortune, and never forgets the aspirations of his ancestors. The descendants of Han Gong will inherit the will of Han Gong, and if this continues, then the prosperity of the Han family will be the same as that of my Great Song Dynasty, even if it is a sage like the Western Zhou Dynasty and Qilu, how much worse can it be! Someone said: "The emperor relies on Han Gong, just like a big ship that sails steadily in a big river, although Han Gong wants to realize his ambition, can he get it?" "It's not like that. The emperor relied on Han Gong, and Han Gong's cultivation and morality seem to be two different things, but they are actually related, only with this ambition, and then worthy of the emperor's trust, and then obtain the reputation worthy of the loyal king. People in the world only know that the emperor trusts Han Gong, but few people understand Han Gong's cultivation and morality; I only know Han Gong's deeds, but I don't know Gong's ambitions, which is the reason why I have to say it in Nanyuan Ji.

I was old and sick, rarely came out to do things, and lived in the countryside of Shanyin, Han Gong wrote a letter and gave instructions: "Please come and make a record of Nanyuan for me." "I secretly thought: Under Han Gong's family, there are many people with outstanding talents, why do you fall in love with me Lu You, is it because I am stupid and old, idle at home, write articles and don't tell lies and nonsense, and I don't please people, but I only know the ambition of narrating the public? Therefore, I can only obey Han Gong's orders without prevarication.
