Chapter 102: Deep Mountain Buddhist Temple
Fohui Mountain is called "Big Buddha Head" in later generations, the altitude is more than 460 meters, and it is named after the head of the giant Buddha of the cliff carved on the top of the mountain in the second year of Jingyou of the Northern Song Dynasty.
Now is only the sixth year of the great cause, the big Buddha head is naturally not yet, and only the Buddha Hui Temple halfway up the mountain is more well-known on Fohui Mountain.
Fohui Temple was built in the fifth year of the emperor's reign and is one of the three Buddhist temples built by Emperor Wen of Sui Emperor Yang Jian in Licheng Prefecture. The other two are the expanded Shentong Temple on Kunrui Mountain and the newly built Thousand Buddha Temple on Lishan.
Speaking of these three temples, the Shentong Temple in Kunrui Mountain and the Thousand Buddha Temple in Lishan are both more famous than Fohui Temple.
Shentong Temple is located in the Kunrui Valley, in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the high monk Lang Gong traveled west and returned to the east, and established this temple in Kunrui Mountain at the northeast foot of Daiyin, the name Lang Gong Temple.
To the Northern Wei Dynasty, the Northern Zhou Dynasty was completely destroyed due to war, and only half of the wreckage of the main hall remained in Langgong Temple.
Sui Kaihuang three years, the great Sui Emperor Yang Jian who sincerely worshiped the Buddha passed through Licheng, admired the famous Langgong Temple, because of the Langgong Temple site "through the repeated feelings", so it is said to be supernatural. He ordered the local government to rebuild in situ, and renamed Langgong Temple as "Shentong Temple".
In the first year of Renshou, Emperor Wen of Sui Emperor Yang Jian sent relics to 30 monasteries in the world, and specially ordered the senior monk Fa Zan to send relics to Qizhou Shentong Temple, and built four gate pagodas to worship relics. Shentong Temple is therefore full of incense.
Lishan, is the famous Thousand Buddha Mountain of later generations, three years of opening the emperor, Emperor Wen of Sui Yang Jian passed Lishan and had enlightenment, then ordered people to dig caves with the mountain trend, carry carved Buddha statues in the cave, so Lishan began to call Thousand Buddha Mountain, and build a temple on the mountain, the name Thousand Buddha Temple.
Compared with the above two temples, Fohui Temple has neither legends, nor the treasure of the town temple, but also no fine carved stone carvings that can be passed down for thousands of years, and the prosperity of incense is also the worst of the three temples.
The reason why I only mentioned Fohui Temple was that I didn't want to visit the mountains and rivers and worship incense. It was because he was entrusted by Master Dazhi to go to Fohui Temple to meet the abbot of the temple, Master Dabei.
Master Dabei is the younger brother of Master Dazhi, before coming to Fohui Temple, he had a list in Rencheng Chongjue Temple, and he had a very good relationship with his brother Master Dazhi. Therefore, he also heard a little about the real reason why Senior Brother has not left Chongjue for 20 years.
The reason why Venerable Dazhi asked him to find his junior brother was because he had been in retreat for too long, and he had not left Chongjue Temple for 20 years, so he had no way to give him more help.
On the other hand, his younger brother, Master Dabei, has traveled the world since he was young and has made many friends. The official disciples of Fohui Temple alone have nearly a thousand people. There are more than 10,000 lay people and believers in the name of the monastery.
If the Great Compassion Mage is willing to help with the rectification, this is also a great help.
Since he had waited for the person mentioned in the master's words, Master Dazhi also unreservedly pulled his fellow disciples in.
This seems to be a big gamble in the future, if he can win the first emperor Li Shimin in history, it is natural to give a certain reward to the Buddhists who helped him.
But what if you can't win this showdown? Or is it that I fought Li Er to the death, and was picked up by a third party? After all, neither Wang Shichong nor Dou Jiande are soft persimmons, their own appearance has changed history, who can say for sure, others will not get more help and resources than in history?
If the latter two situations occur, the Great Wisdom Mage, who not only supports him, will end up miserable. I am afraid that the entire Buddhist power will fall apart under the severe suppression of the eventual victors. Several movements in history to exterminate Buddhism have had this background to a greater or lesser extent.
After experiencing the painful lessons of history, it stands to reason that Buddhist disciples generally do not have a clear political inclination, and whether you are Li Er or Liu, they will not clearly indicate who they will support or help until the general trend is settled. This is for the safety of his own disciples, and it is understandable.
However, it is not without exceptions.
For example, the famous legend of the Shaolin Thirteen Stick Monks who saved the Tang King. It is the story of Li Shimin's conquest of Wang Shichong, who unfortunately fell into distress and was rescued by the monks of Shaolin Temple when he fled alone.
Although there is no historical record to support Li Shimin's rescue, however, in the inscriptions such as "Tang Taizong Sue Baiguwu Shaolin Temple Throne Book", "Tang Taizong Gave Shaolin Temple Teaching", "Emperor Tang Songyue Temple Tablet" and other inscriptions, there are clear mentions of Tanzong and other thirteen monks, and the capture of Wang Shichong's brother Wang Shiyun's son Wang Renze.
Although the capture of a Wang Ren may have little impact on the overall situation, it can be seen that when the situation is not clear, the Shaolin monks have a clear attitude on Li Shimin's side.
Does this mean that after decades of vigorous support from Emperor Wen of Sui Emperor Yang Jian and the current Great Sui Emperor Yang Guang, Buddhist monks have become more ambitious?
Or is it true that the legend of Tianyantong before the death of the monk is really true, so the disciples of Buddhism will stand on the winning side with a clear banner?
Although Laichen has experienced the seven-character verse incident left by Master Dazhi's master, there is no clear indication between the lines of the twenty-eight characters on the cloth strip, and it may be more accurate to say that it coincides with the meeting. So I always suspected that I was being tricked by the old monk Dazhi.
I don't have confidence, where does the old monk get the confidence? Not only tied Chongjue Temple to Lai's body, but also tied his junior brother Master Dabei and Fohui Temple to his chariot.
I'm afraid it's not just these two monasteries, once Master Dabei also agrees to help, I'm afraid there will be more monasteries from all walks of life.
When I think about it, my head is as big as a fight, and I haven't set a clear direction yet, but I have been pushed by others, and I can't help but go to the road of hegemony.
"Alas~" sighed softly, and looked up at the three big characters "Buddha Hui Temple" painted on the stone archway standing at the foot of the mountain.
It is the Mid-Autumn Festival, at a glance, the wild chrysanthemums all over the mountains are dotted among the green pines and cypresses, which makes people refreshed and relaxed. The nervous mood is also relieved.
"There must be a road before the car reaches the mountain, and the boat will naturally go straight to the bridge." Came to the mouth and unconsciously muttered: "Since you have reached this point, let's go on." ”
"Good sentence, good sentence."
When I heard the words, it was Xu Shiyun who was praising him: "Childe's sentence 'There must be a road before the car reaches the mountain, and the boat will naturally go straight to the bridge.'" It's really a sentence that points out the truth of life.
If you don't walk to the front of this mountain, how can you see the way up the mountain? If you don't decide to do something, you don't know what you can do. ”
Lai Lai nodded: "Originally, I was hesitant, but now when I see this Buddhist temple hidden in the mountains, I suddenly realize some life truths."
There are some things, how do you know if you don't succeed if you don't give it a go? How do you know how much potential there is without spelling? ”
