Chapter 24: The Giant Snowy Owl

Wayne opened his eyes early in the morning, probably early in the morning, because it was still quiet downstairs. He sat up and rubbed his heavy head, his mental strength was a little overdrawn from yesterday's continuous casting of magic.

He rummaged through the satchel hanging from the bedside, and most of the compartments inside were empty. It's time to replenish some magic herbs, Vane thought.

"Vane, what time is it?" Felder asked with a lazy yawn.

......

It was exactly seven o'clock when I left the hotel.

Herbertsel was very quiet in the morning, the clanging of metal was gone, and the air was not so sultry. The streets looked deserted, the dim lights had thinned, and a few drunken dwarves were staggering along the road.

The group walked all the way north, and after half an hour, the rock wall on the edge of the dungeon was already faintly visible.

The north of the city is clearly different from other places, where the houses have become sparse and tall, the air is filled with the smell of various feces, and strange noises can be heard from time to time.

"What is this place?" asked Eth, covering her nose.

"Who knows, it's not like a place for people to live anyway. Felder finished speaking, and began to hum a little song leisurely.

"You're in a good mood, Lava Giant Slayer. Vane said with a smile.

"Of course, I'm so good......"

"Wait!" A gruff voice came from behind him. The group turned to see a brown-haired dwarf standing on the side of the road and waving at them.

"Are you going to the Solsen Oktoberfest?" asked the dwarf, patting his pants with his hand, and a few hairs of unknown animals slowly fell from his body.

"Yes, what's the matter?" replied Vane.

"Hahaha!" the dwarf burst out laughing, his cocked brown beard quivering. After a while he came to his senses and said, "Your first time in Herbertsel, right? The day here begins at nine o'clock in the morning. ”

"You mean Oktoberfest doesn't start until nine o'clock?" Vane complained a little about why he didn't ask yesterday.

"After nine o'clock, to be exact. The dwarf spread his hands and continued, "And you still have to squeeze the elevator after nine o'clock, which is not a good experience for outsiders. I have an alternative here, and I can go now, so come with me if you're interested. ”

The group walked after the dwarf, and Vane always felt that the dwarf had a familiar feeling, yes, like a goblin merchant.

Soon the group came to a tall wooden house, and a cooing sound of birds came from inside. The dwarf squeaked open the wooden door, and an even more pungent smell came out, causing several people to frown. The house has no roof, so you can see the deep sky, and if it weren't for that, the smell would be even more unbearable.

"Coo-goo-goo-goo......" Several tall figures appeared in front of them.

"It's ...... Snowy owl?" Vane stopped. Several large birds in front of them were standing upright on a log, tilting their heads to look at the crowd. They are snow-white, with only a few short black stripes at the ends of their wings, cat-like eyes, and a barb-like hawk's beak.

Seeing someone appear, two of the more active guys flapped their wings a few times, and suddenly a gust of wind rolled up in the house.

"This is the Thorsen Giant Snow Owl. The brown-bearded dwarf turned and looked at them with a smile on his face, as if waiting for their satisfactory answer.

"No, you mean riding one of these big birds?" Felder looked at the snowy owls that were more than two meters tall, and felt a little frightened. From time to time, their huge claws scratch across the stone slabs, making a sharp noise.

"I think it's better to take the lift......" Ace muttered quietly.

"Hey, Elena!" Vane snapped. Elena had already walked up to a snowy owl and touched the feathers on its wings with her hand. The feathers were smooth and soft, and she couldn't help but put her whole hand on top of her wings. The snowy owl cooed and leaned over to Elena, bowed down and arched her furry head at Elena, making her giggle.

"Haha, these giant snowy owls look a little fierce, but they're actually very docile. The dwarf said with a smile.

"It's true, at least not as disgusting as giant bats. Felder shrugged.

Seeing Elena's appearance, several other people also relaxed, and soon mingled with several snow owls.

The group quickly decided to take a snowy owl ride to the Oktoberfest grounds to the north. Although the price of twenty silver coins per trip is a bit expensive, it is acceptable to ride two people at the same time, and of course the Simpson can only be alone.

"Well, I'll ride one with Elena. Vane plucked up courage and said.

"No!" said Felder, Ace, and Simpson at the same time.

"Eth, let's go. Elena took Ace's hand and rode onto the Snowy Owl, turning back to give Vane a big smile.

"Take off!" the brown-bearded dwarf unleashed the chains on the snowy owl's feet. The snowy owl flapped its wings, the wind rose in the room, and everyone's clothes hunted. Vane watched them disappear into deep space.

"Vane, when did you kid become so bold. Felder rode in the saddle and said to Vane behind him, his tone seemed to have a hint of sourness.

"I'm afraid of Elena's danger!" Vne argued, not even believing him.

The snowy owl's wings flapped, and Vane clung to the belt in front of him, his eyes narrowed as the wind blew from his wings, and his black hair fluttered in the air. The snowy owl then left the ground and flew off the roof quickly.

The house on the ground quickly shrank, and Vane felt his heart rise to his throat. Felder wasn't much better, gritting his teeth and clutching his belt.

The snowy owl slowed down and began to fly upwards in a circle. Vane looked up, and sure enough, there were several bright lights not far above, and as he got closer to the top, the light became more apparent.

On both sides of the rock wall at the top of the dungeon, there is a huge passage in the north and south directions, from which the light emits. The snowy owl suddenly exerted its strength and accelerated towards the northern passage.

After entering the passage, the whirring wind continued for more than ten seconds, and suddenly lit up in front of him. The cold wind blew on his face like a knife, and Vane couldn't help but shiver despite wearing two more clothes. He slowly opened his eyes, and Felder was still lying on the body of the snowy owl like a dead dog, and the sight in front of him made him forget the cold for a moment.

At seven o'clock, the sky in Solsen was already bright, and the bad weather he saw when he came had disappeared, leaving only sparse and fine snowflakes drifting slowly, hitting his face and melting away quickly. The snowy owl's feathers fluttered in the wind, and its broad, soft body gave Vane some warmth. The conifers, covered in a thick layer of snow, are scattered irregularly across the vast expanse, drawing a giant pattern.

The snowy owl seems to have found a landing site and begins to dive downward. Soon the ground was close in front of him, and the snowy owl's outstretched claws made two deep marks on the snow, and it flapped its wings forward, and the huge impact lifted the surrounding snow more than a person high.

Eventually, the snowy owl stopped, standing with its head held high and cooing in the snow, as if this was where it belonged. Poor Vane and Felder fell straight into the snow without a firm grip.

Then the two snowmen got up from the ground and looked around blankly.

"Hahaha!" Not far away, before the snow on Elena and Ise's heads had been removed, the two of them laughed back and forth.

"Be careful!" Before he could finish speaking, a huge snowy owl landed nearby, and suddenly raised snowflakes in the sky.
