Chapter 10: Mr. Fifty Dollars
"So. +≡,.23¢wx.” Zach raised his eyebrows, and under the light of the fire, his red eyes were not so abrupt, "You saw it." When did this happen?"
"How do I know, do I look like a man who can afford a watch? in the middle of the night, when I pee!" said one of the homeless men, impatiently, though his expression was rich enough to mean that he still maintained his personality. But he couldn't take his eyes off the well-dressed gentleman, Zack.
In fact, he didn't know why he was talking to this gentleman, he hated rich people. Of course all clean people are rich people, for him.
Zach nodded helplessly, "And then what did they do? Did you see that?"
"How do I know! I'm just peeing!"
The vampire accepted the statement, "Okay, thanks. The red in Zack's eyes faded, and he took out a sheet of Dole and handed it out. There was no need to cover up the process of his inquiry, the pupil of charm was just implanting the impression that he had no malicious intent on these people. The vampire is willing to keep this impression, and this inquiry can serve as a light-hearted conversation to corroborate the authenticity of this false impression, and how convenient it is.
"It's been a pleasure talking to you, goodbye. Zach smiled at a group of homeless men, turned and walked out with Benjamin Matthew, "Let's go over there first, maybe we'll find something left." Zach looked around, "James?"
The three aliens searched left and right, "James Lance?"
The vampire's face fell, and James was gone.
"I'll look for it, and you can go to the beach. Zach frowned, using his eyes of charm intently, making him ignore the movement around him. And the alpha of the human form is not much higher than the human senses, except for the sense of smell.
The information provided by the homeless man is scattered. Not much. Someone heard the crash from the north, and someone saw people in tattered police uniforms swaying around the area...... In the last one, I saw two people burning something on the beach.
Watch Benjamin and Matthew walk towards the sea, just at the eastern end of the road, a jumble of reefs standing on the sand that once the city of Barton had developed. I wanted to turn this place into "Noel Beach" in the southern area, but as a result, like the residential area here, it was abandoned.
Zach walked to the opposite side of Benjamin, and the houses on both sides of the road began to intact, and gradually there were dim lights shining through, and it was clear that this was the step of the construction at that time. To the west, there are more completed houses, and of course there are many unfurnished rough houses. And to the east. The worst is only one foundation, and even the homeless can't look down on it.
Zach really didn't know where James would wander around, so he had no choice but to choose a random family and knocked on the door.
Crimson covered his eyes again, and the people here were not very friendly, and the vampires had no choice but to do so.
James's route began to become clear, and some people saw the detective's path of action. Zach looked in the direction. Then frowned. Zach is getting closer and closer to Walter's home.
"You!" the woman's voice was anxious. "It's you!"
Zach turned his head sideways, and the wandering woman he had seen once cowered behind the pitch-black wall, with only one head exposed, looked more nervous.
"Is that you?" Zach grinned, "What's the matter?"
"Devil!" the woman saw Zach respond, with kindness. Quickly rushed out of the wall and stood in front of Zack, still the same shirt Zach had ever seen, still tangled and messy hair, she waved her hand excitedly. "I saw it! I saw it!
Zach had already noticed that this was a little different from the last time he had seen this woman, and the last time he had 'heard', "What did you see?" Zach asked with a smile as he pulled out his wallet.
"Necromancy!" the woman rushed to Walter's house, pointing to the open window, "Fifty bucks wanted to see what's inside! He listened to me and wanted to find out the truth! He's a good man!But the necrons jumped out of it!" The woman shuddered, "and the devil jumped out of it, too!!" The necrons ran and came back! The devil and the necrons fled with fifty dollars!!"
Zach doesn't understand, we do. The necromancer is Chapman or Wandel, depending on the expression, and fifty pieces refers to James who only gave her more than fifty dollars. The devil, that's the only thing Zach understands - Walter.
Zach opened his mouth, and he had to care that the guy called 'Fifty Bucks' in the mouth of this crazy woman was hit and killed.
"Fifty dollars is not so tall and strong......" Zach described James' appearance.
"It's him!" the woman was thrilled, she was thrilled that she had finally seen the evidence of the devil and no longer just heard.
Zach shook his head, walked under the open window, stared at a trail that had been dragged, sniffled, raised an eyebrow, James wasn't dead, but a guy was about to die. The smell of decay is very fresh, mixed with a strong smell of medicine.
"Fifty pieces didn't die. Zach smiled slightly, and for some reason, he felt that he should sue the woman for the news.
Zach pulled out a photograph of Chapman that James had shared with them when he came, "Necromancy, is this what it looks like?"
The woman leaned over to the picture, and her face changed, "The necromancer is a policeman!
This is equivalent to confirmation, and Zach put away the photo, "Thank you." This place is dangerous, you should stay away, you don't want to be retaliated by the devil. "The vampire is not interested in speaking for Walter, in fact he is still very angry, Walter actually secretly took in the photographer, and after the Windwinds left, these soul aliens were left alone!
Okay, Zach is on the extreme, and Crowley is in charge, but not in charge.
The woman's body trembled, and she seemed to realize that she had witnessed the whole process of the devil's murder, and she trembled and quickly retreated, "You, Mr. Hundred! You have to be careful!" and then disappeared. Amazing woman.
Zach shook his head and looked inside the window, where Walter seemed to be in such a hurry that he didn't even close the window. However, Zach no longer worried about James's life, there was only a small amount of blood on the ground, and Zach could already tell that it was the smell of James. This is an unusually large amount of blood when the detective bleeds in front of Zack. Looking at the bloodstains on the lower corner of the window, Zach already had an idea of what was going on.
"This is it!" Matthew's voice was a little excited, looking at his alpha expectantly, waiting for approval.
Benjamin nodded and looked at Zack who was standing under the window in a daze, "Did you find this place too?" ”
"Yes. Zach nodded, smiling helplessly, "How did you find it?" ”
"The smell of gasoline. Matthew was a little excited, "Under the reef, we found the burned police uniform, and the residual smell followed here. ”
Benjamin tugged at the corners of his mouth, "The smell of gasoline is strong, there's nothing to be happy about." ”
Matthew sighed and honestly stood aside and didn't speak. Zach patted Matthew's shoulder comfortingly, at least Zach didn't notice any gasoline smell, and in a day, Matthew was able to capture it, which was already very good.
"What's going on here. Benjamin frowned, and where Zach stood, the smell was distinct, James, Walter, and the stench of decay mixed in with alcohol and drugs.
"It's the same as you smell it. Zach's expression was a little weird, he still couldn't fully comprehend the development of things, "I don't know why, Walter and Wandall kidnapped James and left. Zach blinked, and when he said it, it was even more unbelievable.
Benjamin pushed Matthew forward, "Remember the smells, and you'll find them." Himself and Zach began to inspect around Walter's house.
Matthew nodded honestly, feeling the smell around him. He wanted to meet Alpha's expectations.
The truck pulled onto Route 27 and headed north, soon entering the North District. Benjamin stopped the van and grimaced, "And then?"
Matthew, who was sitting in the back seat, looked sad and his mind was in disarray, in fact, just as they left the desolate residential area, he had already lost the clue to the smell, and he could only vaguely feel that he was heading to the North District.
Then after entering the North District, the gang gathering place in the east, and the factory in the west, all kinds of mixed smells poured into the young wolf's nose, and he was completely lost.
And then. Benjamin urged again.
Matthew hurriedly pushed the car door, jumped out of the car, and ran back and forth on the empty highway, sticking his head out, sniffing left and right. He pursed his lips, his nostrils bulging and contracting rapidly.
Zach couldn't help but laugh, "Benjamin, are you doing this?"
"Shhhh On Alpha's face, the fluff began to show through, and the bulging nose twitched slightly. The fluff faded quickly, and Benjamin regained his expression of coldness and disappointment, and shouted at Matthew, who was about to lie on the ground, "That's enough! We're wolves! Not dogs!"
Matthew walked to the truck with a sad face, lowered his head, and sat back in the back seat silently, "I'm sorry." I've let you down. ”
Benjamin snorted heavily, and started the truck again, in a very clear direction, "Look, study hard." ”
Zach raised an eyebrow, he wouldn't break Benjamin's small gestures, reminding the business, "Go slow, we should give James and Chapman a little more time together." ”
Benjamin shifted gears and continued to educate his wolf cubs, "The most important thing is to eliminate, you have to strip away those distracting factors, and distinguish what you ......"
The vampire's lower lip twitched into his teeth slightly, and he wanted to keep himself from laughing. Back to business, about what Zach said, he wanted James and Chapman to spend more time together. I remember Zach saying to James in his office, "You should be grateful, it's the power that gives people who have gone on a fork in the road the right to choose again." "What?
Of course, James retorted, saying that it was an alien 'power'.
For Zach, it was a surprise, but the way things are going couldn't have made him happier. Let James himself understand whether this is a privilege to be grateful for a second choice or a power when he is in it. (To be continued......)
