Chapter 61: The First Interception (1)

The thieves in Shaanxi were most harmed by the king of Hequ Jiayin and the security god Yikui, because most of their two thieves were deserters, and the discipline and combat experience of the troops were far stronger than those of other bandits in the south and the interior.

The local thieves in the interior are only plundering ordinary people in the countryside, and these two thieves are the real destruction of the city. With strong combat power, they repeatedly killed and injured officers and soldiers, seriously threatening the rule of the Ming Dynasty. Yandong Wang Jiayin, Yanxi Shenyikui is a famous big man in black and white, it can be said that if the two of them stomp their feet, the entire Yan'an Mansion will be shaken. (Note 1)

Fortunately, now that Shen Yikui has been appeased, Wang Jiayin was also defeated by the official army after being alone. None of the thieves who are still operating in Shaanxi are opponents of the official army. Therefore, Yang He, the governor of the three sides who had freed his hands from the border areas, was finally able to start cleaning up other bandits in the interior.

On the 11th day of May in the fourth year of Chongzhen, Wang Chengen struck the monkey in Shibaochuan from Baishui to Haoyang and beheaded more than 200 levels. The remaining thieves fled to Chengcheng, and a few days later went south to Yijun County to lay the golden lock of Xi'an, the gateway to Xi'an, in an attempt to flow into the core area of Shaanxi Province in the Ming Dynasty.

Yang He was on his way to Yaozhou on 15 May when he received the news of the unexpected loss of Jinsuoguan through Tang Bao. Although there are other bandits in Xi'an Mansion, they are not as threatening as these fugitives in Yan'an Mansion. Once this group of fugitives who escaped from Yan'an Mansion scattered in Xi'an Mansion and taught their combat experience to other bandits in the mainland, Yang He would definitely not be able to bear these consequences.

Therefore, knowing that the situation was critical, Yang He immediately mobilized troops from all over the country to carry out a joint attack. Under the strict orders of the governors of the three sides, the officers and troops in various places launched a swift action to suppress the fleeing thieves. Within a few days, all units were captured, and the officers and soldiers repeatedly gained success.

Over the next month, the thieves were struck one after another. More than 8,000 people, including the thief's head Mantianxing, Jinyin Peng (that is, Wang Chenggong, Wang Chenggong, Wang Zishun's nephew), Yizhangqing, and Chaodian Army, descended with their wives and children. The Heavenly Monkey and the Heavenly Monkey were defeated by the official army, fled to Yizhou, and lit the lamp to beg in the clear stream. (Note 2)

Yang He took the action of exterminating one place against the thieves, and then pacified one place; The strategy of settling one place and placing another place. Hoping to quickly stabilize and restore order in Shaanxi, at the same time, the inspector Wu Fu had already informed Yang He by letter that Wu Fu still had 18,000 taels of silver there, which was reserved for appeasing the thieves. On the insufficiency, Wu Fu is trying to collect donations from the local gentry in Shaanxi.

After the money that the governor of the three sides appeased the thieves had landed, God also opened his eyes to rain one after another during this time. The crops in the farmland are growing gratifyingly, and there is already a faint image of a good year, and the situation of the thieves in Shaanxi is very good. Judging from the current situation, the thief rebellion in Shaanxi can see the end, and Yang He, as the highest military and political governor in Shaanxi, is very happy.

However, in this environment, some officials from the local government and county of Shaanxi expressed to Yang He their worries about the rebellion. Some of the appeased people were constantly collecting grain in the fields, which had aroused the dissatisfaction of the local people. More and more people have already reacted to the magistrates, and the big leaders of the thieves who have been appeased will definitely choose the opportunity to rebel. They hoped that the governors of the three sides would be like Hong Chengchou and Li Yingqi before, and directly seek an opportunity to dispose of all the leaders of the Descending Clans in one go.

It's not that Yang He can't see some of the tricks of degrading, but he thinks it's only part of the phenomenon. At present, Shaanxi's appeasement cannot be wasted because of choking, and it is absolutely impossible to dispose of all the leaders of the Ding Ding just because of a few lawbreakers. Even if they do kill these people, there will be their subordinates or others who will come out and become thieves.

In order to stabilize order in Shaanxi, it is necessary to start from the root cause and thoroughly remove the soil in Shaanxi that produces thieves. This requires the government to seriously begin to organize production and reorganize the troops. And these appeased bandit leaders, as long as the government's policies are implemented properly, they will become a huge help to the government.

These help not only helped the government to organize the people to restore local production more efficiently, but also cleared out other troubled thieves in various places, and even resisted the raids of the Mongols in the north.

Yang He's thoughts don't just exist in his head, he has put them into action. There have been many Dingding who have been incorporated into the official army to hunt down other thieves, and in the north of Yansui West Road, there is even news of the meritorious service of the Dingdings, which strongly supports Yang He's Fuce.

In mid-May, the troops of the original Shen Yikui, who had been planted around Ningsai, reported their succession to Yang He, the governor of the three sides, and others in various military forts. Together with other officers and soldiers, they fought hard and successfully intercepted a Mongol invasion. A total of 137 levels of beheadings were beheaded in various military forts, and 144 Dama, two camels, and armor equipment were obtained.

……

Time and vision returned to the Fort of the River, and the troops of more than 100 Mongolian cavalry in the north broke through the mouth pier. Fan Shunjiang, Che Jibao and others with sentry horses were monitoring the Mongols who were constantly moving south. After sending people to report to the surrounding border forts, the big boss Zhang Mengjin also received news from other military forts, and the Mongols broke into both Ningsai Fort and Liushujian Fort.

Zhang Mengjin thought that the Mongol troops who invaded Duhe Fort were not too many, and after leaving Guan Zhiqing and Wei Heyong to be responsible for defending the fort, Zhang Mengjin and Zhao Wankui, the third leader, led more than 500 soldiers to Kekechuan and Shuangmiaoer to set up ambushes respectively.

After a rapid march, Zhao Wankui had already led his troops into the ambush site. At this time, he and his more than fifty birdmen and archers were all hiding in a bush in the Cocoa River.

He Zongwei crawled over at this time and reported to Zhao Wankui, the third master: "The spearmen and sword players are hidden, and Lao Zhou and the cavalry are also hiding in the forest behind, this time we will wait for Dazi to come to the door." ”

"I don't know which way Dazi will go, this time Dazi doesn't know that we will garrison Duhe Fort. More than 100 men and horses dared to go all the way south, and if they didn't join the Dazi brigade, they were simply looking for death. Zhao Wankui whispered to He Zongwei, and at the same time, he also checked the bird gun in his hand.

This bird gun turned out to be Zhang Mengcheng's, but Zhang Mengcheng returned to the village to teach, and he didn't have much opportunity to use it, so he handed this over to Zhao Wankui. Now after a period of serious training, Zhao Wankui can already operate the bird gun very skillfully to fight.

"The three masters, how are you going to use the head of the son this time. Is it going to be a hereditary military attaché, or is it just exchanged for silver? He Zongwei saw that Dazi had not appeared, and he felt a little bored, so he chatted with Zhao Wankui.

"I'll see how much I get, but I'll probably ask for silver. Even if the silver has not been of much use for a few years, won't it be able to use it when the year gets better in the future? "Zhao Wankui didn't think that the government could really give out the monthly rations that the hereditary military attaché could theoretically receive, so he still felt that the ready-made silver was easy to use.

"I'm determined to change to a hereditary family. No matter how low the six-rank military attache is, he is also an official, and the magistrate in the county is only seventh-grade. With this official position, isn't it even more powerful than the county. He Zongwei made up his mind to take an official position, he used to watch those military attachés in the military fort as a prestige, and he made up his mind that he would have to be an official in the future.

"Even if you become a thousand households, you have to kowtow to the county lord of Qipin. And there is no real position vacant, what is the use of you having a military attache title empty, and the monthly rations of the imperial court may not be issued. Zhao Wankui was a little overwhelmed by He Zongwei's unpromising appearance, and directly reminded He Zongwei to say.

"Anyway, my mother-in-law and children have food in the village, and I don't have to worry about food and clothing, so now it's important for me to get a military attache to have a good time." He Zongwei held an artemisia grass in his mouth and said nonchalantly.

In the past few years of looting life, He Zongwei has actually made a lot of money, and he handed it all over to his mother-in-law who is in charge of the family. His mother-in-law had already given birth to a son to him before, and after his mind had stabilized, He Zongwei felt that he had everything, and he was only missing a majestic official hat.

PS: Note 1: In the early days of the peasant army in the late Ming Dynasty, when the peasant army was still in Shaanxi, whether it was Yang He, the governor of the three sides, or Wu Fu, the governor of the imperial history, or other Ming officials who knew the situation of thieves in Shaanxi, they all unanimously believed that Wang Jiayin and Shen Yikui's subordinates were "the strongest among the thieves". The other branches are mostly the remnants of these two big bosses or some local bandits, and they can't be compared with the two of them at all.

In actual history, Wang Jiayin (succeeded by his subordinate Zijin Liang) This branch of the thief faction became more and more ferocious, and the well-known thieves such as Zhang Xianzhong and Lao Huihui who were wandering around Shaanxi were all headed by Wang Jiayin's subordinates in the past. Even Li Zicheng, who rose later, and Gao Yingxiang are also one of the leaders of the thieves under the loose bandit group of Zijin Liang.

Note 2: For details, please refer to "Yang He, the Governor of Shaanxi Trilateral Minister, entitled "Gong Report on the Situation of Suppressing Thieves". It should be noted that the Heavenly Monkey, the Heavenly Monkey and the Mixed Heavenly Monkey (Zhang Mengjin) mentioned in this book are three separate people, and it is not a clerical error by the author. For example, according to the records in volume 92 of "Guoyu" and volume 1 of "Suikou Jiluo", the real name of the heavenly monkey is Liu Jiusi.

However, it is worth mentioning that in the fifty-first volume of "Chongzhen's Long Edition", Wu Fu has reviewed the matter of the Mixed Sky Monkey, "Zhao Dayin reported the beheading of the Mixed Sky Monkey, named Zhang Ronghua, and was appeased in Dunzhou. It means that Zhao Dayin once claimed to kill the Mixed Sky Monkey, but the person known as the Mixed Sky Monkey is actually called Zhang Ronghua, and now he has been appeased in Yanzhou. At that time, Wu Fu was the one who verified the military exploits everywhere, so there should be no mistake. But there are also other historical materials, such as the first volume of "Suikou Jiluo" mentions that the monkey is Zhang Mengjin. Who exactly is the monkey, whether it is inherited by several people or simply coincidentally the same name, due to the limited mention of historical materials, so the actual situation can no longer be clarified.

Although the author cannot absolutely guarantee that the two are not the same person, they can still be distinguished from each other according to the existing historical data.
