Chapter 980: Conclusion (Part II)

Many people have not received such education since childhood, nor have they heard the saying that writing is a public instrument in the world.
The basic function of writing is to educate the hearts of the people in society, not to vent one's garbage, nor is it a convenient tool for the pursuit of fame and fortune.
To be able to write a coherent chapter, or to be able to write a coherent sentence, or even to be able to write a flowery article, this is not enough to be called a literati.
"Wen" means to be without fault.
In history, the kings who were honored as "Wen" were all kings who were almost sages, with noble personal morals, and when they were in power, the country was peaceful and the people were safe, and the social atmosphere was good.
For example, "King Wen of Zhou" and "Emperor Wen of Han". There are very few kings who can obtain the honorific title of "Wen" in history. Even a famous saint king like Tang Taizong could not get the evaluation of "Wen" because of his personal morality.
The literati, on the other hand, are the kind of people who have few mistakes and can influence others to reduce their mistakes through written education.
The so-called words are words that can make people's hearts cleaner and less faulty after reading.
This "word", as can be seen from the pictographic structure, is for the children in the family to learn what are the correct values and what is the right behavior.
Words are the inheritance and continuation of the wisdom of the previous generation of human beings.
Words are sacred.
In ancient times, not everyone dared to write an article, nor could they just put together a book to circulate to the world.
If what you write can't have a beneficial impact on the hearts of the world, you are responsible for cause and effect.
If you don't know the truth, how dare you write casually, for a little personal fame and fortune, you will come to pollute the hearts of the people of the world?

Mr. Lin Ching-xuan, a famous contemporary Taiwanese prose writer, has repeatedly talked about the cause and effect of intellectuals and writers in his "Ten Books of Bodhi".
After reading it, I was very alarmed, and I felt that it was extremely necessary to excerpt it here, hoping that those who were destined to see the consequences of their actions would arouse some vigilance.
Mr. Lin wrote that he was once practicing in the mountains and heard a story from a mage:
There was a man who had not done any great evil in his life, but when he died, he fell into the Infernal Hell.
The Infernal Hell is a hell of uninterrupted suffering, suffering all kinds of great suffering every day.
He struggled to recall the karma he had created during his lifetime, believing that his sins did not deserve such suffering, so he pleaded to the jailer: "The Infernal Hell is only for those who commit the sins of the five rebellions, and I have not committed the sins of the five rebellions in my life. 2. Killing mothers. 3. Kill the arhats. Fourth, bleeding from the body of the Buddha. Fifth, the broken and united monks), why is it recompensated? ”
"What did you do in your previous life?" The jailer asked.
"I was a writer in my previous life." The man said with a sense of confidence.
"When you write, you have no pure thoughts, your motives are not pure, and you write about some evil views, lustful thoughts, murderous intentions, and evil tastes, which lead people to fall into evil views, lead people to lustful thoughts, lead people to kill their husbands and wives, and lead people to impure behavior, and I don't know how many people have produced the sin of the five rebellions, and this sin is much more serious than the five rebellions."
The writer trembled all over his body when he heard this, and he couldn't help but kneel in front of the jailer out of fear when he read the works he had written before his life, and his lustful and evil tastes seemed to be at present.
"I know I'm wrong now, but when will I get out of this infernal hell?"
"At least until your books are completely wiped out in the world, or every word you have written that is guilty of evil opinions, lustful thoughts, murderous intent, and evil tastes disappears from the world."
Mr. Lin said, "After listening to the Venerable Master's story and thinking about the many writers in our world who are preparing for hell, I feel deeply compassionate. ”
In another essay, he wrote:
The Venerable Master told everyone, "In hell there is eternal night, and sentient beings cannot see the light, especially since many monks and intellectuals live in this lightless hell after reincarnation and suffer all kinds of suffering. ”
"Monks and intellectuals in hell?" Mr. Lin was confused.
The Venerable Master said, "Generally speaking, the wicked go to hell for karmic retribution, and if they do not do a good job after becoming a monk, they will make offerings to all sages, and if they do not practice the Tao for sentient beings, they will become a monk in vain, and their sins will be increased by one level, so they will go to hell." Intellectuals are born with better roots, and should be teachers for all people, and enlighten wisdom for all people, but many intellectuals refuse to help others and teach, cling to knowledge, and they will inevitably fall into hell after death. ”
Mr. Lin couldn't help but sigh: "In this world, we are fortunate to be so-called intellectuals, how should we spread knowledge and intelligence to the public, and how cautious and fearful we should be in our mood!" ”

This is not a unique realization of Mr. Lin alone.
Mr. Nan Huaijin, a master of Chinese culture in Taiwan, has also warned the public many times in his teachings that it is not necessarily a good thing for a person to write and gain fame and fortune. If the words he wrote were wrong, and someone read his words and had evil thoughts or did bad things, then he would be held responsible for the subsequent unfortunate fate of that person.
Some people often praise Mr. Nan for how well he has learned and how rich his writings are, but the old man himself has always maintained a clear head.
He said: "As the saying goes, the writings are equal to the body, and the sins are equal to the body. "The more you write, the more opportunities you have to commit mistakes, and the greater the likelihood of sin.
What we see in these writers is the diligent pursuit of personal fame and fortune, but the deep concern for the hearts of the people in the world, and what they worry about day and night is not whether they can make money every day and become famous and have a family, but whether the hearts of the people in society will become better and whether people will reduce the chances of making mistakes in life.
They care about the public, not themselves.
It is concerned about how to give the cleanest, most beautiful, and most genuine things to the public, rather than how to find ways to plunder money from the public and absorb the admiration and worship of the public.
What a difference in intentions.
This is the real great weapon of the country and the real master's demeanor.
If a person always thinks only about himself, where is his mind? The values he advocated and preached did not serve as an example and model for the world, but where did they learn from them?

Some online works are keen to write about the women in the harem in order to compete for fame and fortune (the essence of competing for favor is to compete for fame and fortune, and they don't love that man, otherwise why can't they bear to use him as a tool, why can't they bear to hurt the woman he loves, so as to make him sad?) And, unscrupulously, he finally trampled on all his competitors, stepped on their bloody corpses, and stepped on the supreme throne.
How many young girls, after seeing these works, will rise up and follow suit, believing that if they don't murder others in life, they will be murdered by others, and they must do everything to become survivors?
In their cardamom years, these works teach them how to live in a world where they murder each other, not each other, and stimulate their vanity, jealousy, narrow-mindedness, meanness, and viciousness, telling them that if they don't, they will become losers.
What a terrible education of the human heart.
How terrible a person's life will be if they have been exposed to this kind of influence for a long time.
In this book, I write about a very different court. In this court, husband and wife love each other and respect each other like guests; The concubines are respectful and orderly, united and considerate of each other; Between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, they are as close as mother and daughter, and there is no mustard; Princes and princesses, brotherhood, sisterhood, help each other, gain and lose. The education of children and grandchildren is both strict and loving.
This is a normal family. This is normal human ethics. This is the first family in the world, and it is the model that all families in the world should have. Because this family has done well, it has won the respect and support of people all over the world from the bottom of their hearts. Even if there is a conflict of personal desires in this family (two men love the same woman, and multiple concubines love the same man), they also know how to refrain from restraint, tolerance, sacrifice, and mutual understanding for the sake of the well-being of the world.
There are so many dynasties in China, one family is respected, and they can last for hundreds of years, relying on not the kind of jealousy, intrigue and inferior behaviors and dark minds, relying on such a heroic righteousness, a group of harmony, and such a normal human relationship.
The Zhou Dynasty lasted for more than 800 years, the Shang Dynasty for more than 600 years, the Han Dynasty for more than 400 years, and the Tang Dynasty for nearly 300 years. If the mainstream of the court at that time was all such a miasma, how could the people of the world respect and endure its existence for so long?
If your next-door neighbor's house is the kind of relationship that is a palace fight all day long, you must also fear and loathe being a neighbor, and look at this well-dressed beast with contempt all day long, right?
Everyone should read the official history, do not understand China's history from the palace fighting drama, and do not mistakenly think that China's history is like that.
Literary works should not write about those improper behaviors and abnormal relationships, but should write more about those legitimate behaviors and normal relationships.
We should write more about the queen mother like King Wen of Zhou, the eldest grandson queen, and the virtuous queen like Queen Ma, write more about the excellent concubines like Yin Lihua (Liu Xiu's concubine, who later became the queen), and write more about Ban Jieyu, who is knowledgeable and courteous, in the face of bad monarchs, knows how to advance and retreat, skillfully not get involved in palace fights, so that their lives will not be a disaster for the dynasty, but will be conducive to cultural construction.
This was the mainstream of women in ancient society. This is an example that the people should be familiar with and learn from.
Both online platforms and film and television platforms should publicize such an example to the people, so that the people's will will become more and more virtuous, and the anger in society will be reduced and loyalty will increase.
Isn't it much more comfortable to live in a society full of goodwill to each other than to live in a society where each other calculates?
It should be said that today's society, to a large extent, has been reduced to a situation of mutual harm, and the nurturing and mass dissemination of literary works day and night must bear considerable responsibility for this.

I know that these words are superfluous for the environment here.
I am writing this just to tell you that when I wrote this book about us, I was righteous, mindful in my self-inquiry.
Not only will the words here be sacrificed to the past, but also to the guidance and education you have received along the way.
From coveting the feelings between men and women, to today, understanding what is good and evil, what is right and wrong, understanding the meaning of life and the role of words, and being willing to use one's body as a torch to illuminate the world, what a long road it is.
The fact that I have been able to come here and finish this book in this way is the achievement of all sentient beings.
I am deeply grateful.

May you always be happy from sorrow,
Attaining profound Dharma benefits,
Eliminate all your troubles.
May this merit spread to all.
We and all sentient beings have attained the path of Buddhahood.
The void is endless, the sentient beings are endless, the karma and troubles of sentient beings are endless, and my dedication is also endless.
