Chapter 13: The Adventurer's Guild
There are more and more spiders on the walls, making a "rustling" sound. Some have climbed onto tables and even chairs.
The hairs on Vane's whole body exploded, and he felt something creep up on his back clothes, and there was more than one. Soon there was a tingling sensation on the back of his neck, and he could already imagine what it was.
Vane wanted to scream but couldn't make a sound, his eyes were red and his whole body became a little crazy.
"Ah......h The scenery around him changed dramatically, and he found himself lying on the bed of the Blackwater Hotel again. The dark shadow standing at the end of the bed took a step back, seemingly surprised by Vane's sudden awakening.
Vane was sweating profusely, still lying in bed, unable to move. He moved his eyes, and with the faint moonlight, he could see the outline of the dark shadow. Felder on the bed next to him did not move, did not even snore, and the whole inn was eerily quiet.
The dark shadow raised the staff of the sheep's skull, hidden under the cloak, and began to make a creepy sound.
The voice didn't seem like it came from a human, it was poignant and low, like a myriad of ghosts wandering nearby, like the restlessness of the devil in the depths of hell. Wisps of black smoke emerged from the sheep's skull at the tip of the staff, and they struggled out like living creatures. The black smoke grew more and more, even emanating from the shadow's body, making him look like a demon from hell.
The temperature of the whole room plummeted. The black shadow slowly lifted the staff of the sheep's skull, and countless black smoke pounced on Vane. The wet and cold clothes made Vane shiver, and his eyes widened, his eyes full of fear and unwillingness.
Black smoke entangled Vane's hands and feet, some of which had begun to burrow into his mouth and nostrils. Wayne's body tensed, and his face was in pain.
At that moment, a white light suddenly erupted from Vane's chest, and the intensity of the light made the entire room feel like daylight. The white light came and went as fast as it came, and when Vane came back to his senses, darkness returned to the surroundings.
The surrounding sounds disappeared without a trace, as if they had just had a nightmare. Vane felt his hands and feet move, and he groped his way to sit up. Although he didn't understand what was going on and why the black cloak suddenly disappeared, the white light just now seemed to be emitting from himself. After waiting for his eyes to adjust to the darkness again, Vane left the bedside.
"Ahh
"Vane?" Felder's voice rang over.
"I'm fine...... Vane said grinning. The pain in the sole of his right foot made him gasp a few times.
"Go to sleep, why is it getting cold all of a sudden...... Felder muttered, shrinking his body into the blanket and going back to sleep.
Vane found the thing he had stepped on on the ground - a golden badge. The emblem is round in shape, with a raised four-pointed star in the center, polished to a tarnished finish, and engraved around it with a circle of small letters - "Shadow Wizards Society".
Vane searched in his mind, but couldn't find any information about it. It looks like this is most likely the organization behind the Black Cloak.
Vane put the badge away and went back to bed. He habitually touched the rabbit's feet and pan flute hanging on his chest, and suddenly his hand stopped on the pan flute—a crack appeared in the pan flute that had been good before.
Vane sat up, removed the sisal rope from his neck, and held the pan flute in his hand. A distinct crack appeared in the emerald green smooth surface of the pan flute, extending from the far left tube to the rear.
Vane had carefully studied the pan flute before. It seemed to be made of an unusual material, hard as iron but light as wood, and it suddenly cracked.
Could it be the white light that just emitted...... Vane's heart moved, and he thought of an unlikely possibility. He lay on the bed and gently stroked the pan flute and murmured, "If it's really you, then thank you." ”
Casali's day dawned very early, and Vane barely slept all night, feeling groggy in his head. When the sky turned white, he had already packed his luggage and sat on the first floor of the hotel flipping through the books.
"Vane!" Vane felt a tap on his left shoulder, and he subconsciously turned his head away. He quickly looked to the right when he realized he had been fooled, and Elena was standing there looking at him with a smile.
"Haha, you're up so early!" said Elena with a smile with a bag of luggage in each hand.
"Hey, are you sick?" Elena put something on the ground and pressed her right hand on Vane's forehead.
"Ah, it's okay, maybe I didn't sleep well. Vane said hurriedly.
"It's all right, you see your eyes are frighteningly red! and you have a fever. Elena reproached, but her eyes were full of concern.
"Ahem, can you touch me too, I feel like I'm a little feverish too. Felder came sick and sick.
"Felder, your money is out. Elena pointed behind Felder.
"Where?" Felder straightened up and became energetic.
......
As soon as the sky dawned, the members of the Black Ghost were already on their way to the Adventurers' Guild. The Adventurers' Guild is located in the eastern part of the Central Bay, not far from the airship field.
"It seems to be the Adventurers' Guild over there. Elena looked at the map and pointed to a tall building in front of her. She snatched the map from Vane on the grounds that "the patient needs to rest more", so she walked for almost an hour after half an hour's journey.
"That's right, it really looks old!" Ise sighed with wide eyes.
The Adventurers' Guild is an organization spread across the continent with headquarters in the Duchy of Lucan. Although the Adventurers' Guild has been somewhat unknown and has relatively few members over the years, as the first organization established by humans on the continent of Raffrey, its power cannot be underestimated.
The Casali Adventurers' Guild is the first major chapter, which looks like a church from the outside, with large pieces of stained glass that are clear and shiny in the early morning sun. Directly in front of it is a small plaza with old sculptures and fountains in the center that tell the story of ancient history, and many citizens are strolling there.
The ticket office of the Kaso Express is located in the lobby on the first floor of the Adventurers' Association, and the ticket windows are already crowded. Of course, most of them are still dwarves, and although humans have a height advantage, the dwarves that reach their chests are stronger, and they block the ticket windows like iron buckets.
The goblin in charge of the ticket sales stood on a chair and angrily demanded that the ticket-buying passengers line up, but the dwarves seemed to have a natural sense of indiscipline, gathering around the window and not giving an inch, and verbal and even physical altercations erupted from time to time. Later, only Simpson was able to buy five tickets, and one gold coin sold for twice as much as an airship.
"These usually kind dwarves are really scary to buy tickets. Felder looked at the ticket in his hand and turned it over.
"Let's go, the train should be going soon. Elena gestured for the others to follow, and then followed the crowd forward.
