Chapter 0411 - Just like that, the end of the world
Luoyan Lake is the largest lake in the grasslands of North Vendura, and the whole lake is gourd-shaped. It is hundreds of miles long, more than 20 miles at its narrowest point, and more than 40 miles at its widest point.
There are many islands in the middle of Luoyan Lake, where Jia Min and Chang'an are located, in fact, it is only one of the small ones, called Big Fish Island. It got its name because it was shaped like a big fish.
There are at least five or six islands in the middle of the lake that are larger than Big Fish Island. Badger Island is the largest one.
The biggest difference between Badger Island and other islands is not that it is the biggest, but that it is terrainous.
There are two peaks raised on the island, and there are rocks on the mountains. Because of the abundant vegetation, there are many products in the mountains, and there are many birds and animals.
Although there are no large and ferocious beasts such as tigers, bears, leopards, and wolves, there are many badgers, raccoon dogs, otters, mink, marmots, pheasants, hares, and flying dragons.
Among them, badgers are the most, so it is called badger island.
There are no permanent inhabitants on Big Fish Island, but there are dozens of families on Badger Island. Basically, they make a living by fishing and hunting and gathering in the mountains.
Badger Island is famous not because of its produce, but because of one temple here: the Twin Peaks.
The Twin Peaks Temple was built by a wandering monk and has a history of more than 100 years.
It is said to be a temple, but it is actually very small. There is only one main hall and two side halls. The remaining buildings are several buildings such as the dining hall, the dormitory, and the Tibetan Scripture Pavilion.
Because it is alone on the island in the middle of the lake, it is difficult to get around, so there are very few believers here.
In fact, in the North Vendura grasslands, even if it is not on an island in the middle of the lake, the incense of the monastery will not be vigorous.
Because there are not many people who believe in Buddhism here, the vast majority of people believe in shamanism.
Shamanism is a very primitive religion that does not have a presiding god, that is, there is no supreme god who dominates everything.
Many times, it already resembles a folklore.
However, among the upper rulers of North Vendura, there were still some people who believed in Buddhism.
Therefore, part of the offerings of the Twin Peaks Temple came from some tribal leaders, elders, and some wealthy people.
Other offerings are self-sufficient.
Forty or fifty acres of land mainly from the monastery. In addition, there is the income from the labor of a dozen or so servants of the monastery, including the income from collecting medicinal herbs.
Originally, fishing and hunting were also a good source of income, but because of killing, monasteries were not allowed to do it.
The presiding officer of the monastery is Master Jueneng, who has an apprentice named Changjin. The real clergy, just the two of them.
Kyaw Neng has a daughter named Tana, who is seventeen years old. It was born before Jue Neng became a monk. Because her mother died and she was helpless, Jue Neng took her daughter with her.
Although the monks pay attention to the emptiness of the four major things, they are not ruthless and unrighteous, abandoning their daughters, leaving them alone and helpless, and also violating the teachings of compassion.
However, recently, Jue Neng has accepted a new apprentice, and he is still practicing with his hair at present.
This apprentice is a Han Chinese. He was a prisoner of war in the war in North Vendura. His name is Jia Baoyu.
Jia Baoyu is not only Jueneng's apprentice, but also his son-in-law. He married his daughter Tana to Jia Baoyu.
"When contemplating the bodhisattva of self-reliance, when he walks in the deep prajnaparamita, he sees that the five aggregates are empty, and he overcomes all suffering. The relics are not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from color, color is emptiness, emptiness is color, and the same is true when you want to know it. The relics are the empty phase of all the laws, which are neither born nor destroyed, neither dirty nor pure, nor increased nor decreased. ”
Baoyu sat on the futon and meditated in her heart.
This "Heart Sutra", he can almost recite it backwards now.
In the Twin Peaks Temple, there are no other books except for some scriptures. In an environment where he has no friends and no acquaintances, the scriptures are his only refuge from loneliness.
"Therefore, there is no color in the air, no thoughts, no thoughts, no thoughts, no minds, no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind, no color, no sound, no fragrance, no touch, no vision, no consciousness, no ignorance, no ignorance, no old age, no old age, no old age. There is no suffering to gather and destroy the Tao, there is no wisdom and no gain, so there is no gain. Bodhisattva, according to Prajnaparamita, has no obstacles, no obstacles, no fears, is far away from upside-down dreams, and is nirvana. The Buddhas of the three worlds, according to Prajnaparamita, attained the three bodhisattvas of Anuttara. ”
As he read it, he pronounced the sound. However, Baoyu herself seems to be unaware.
At this time, if it seems to others, it seems that he has entered a state of concentration.
In fact, it makes sense to look at it that way. At this time, Baoyu seems to be in a dream.
"Heart Sutra" can drive away demons, purify the heart, and let people find their own self.
But where is my true self now?
Am I Jia Baoyu from Rongguo Mansion? Am I the one who killed the faithful little guy Mingyan for my own life?
Am I Jia Guifei's younger brother and the nephew of Wang Ziteng, the envoy of the Jingying Festival?
So. How did I become a slave to the Tatars?
Who the hell am I? How did I get here?
In the past, when I was in a dream, I often dreamed that I was with a leper monk and a Taoist priest, wandering around, is it that now I have traveled here?
"Therefore, we know that Prajnaparamita is a great mantra, a great mantra, a supreme mantra, a supreme mantra, and an unequal mantra that can remove all suffering, and it is true. Therefore, to say the Prajnaparamita mantra is to say the mantra to say: Reveal the truth, Para reveal the truth, Para Reveal the truth, Para monk reveal the truth, Bodhi Sabha. ”
"Baoyu, Baoyu."
A female voice remembered.
Baoyu woke up from the artistic conception of the Heart Sutra.
Who's calling me? Is it Daiyu? How did Daiyu get here?
Baoyu got up from the futon and looked around, but no one was found.
He remembered that Master Jue Neng had gone out yesterday, and it seemed that he had gone to the house of the head of the Wattel tribe.
Master Changjin took the servants to collect pasture, and the Shuangfeng Temple raised four horses, and a lot of pasture was still needed in winter.
As soon as he thought of the leader of the Waters tribe, Baoyu thought of Jia Rong, Jia Huan, and Mingyan again.
I remembered the day I was caught by the Waterllers.
Why could the third brother of Huan be so ruthless and kill Brother Rong? How could I be so ruthless and kill Mingyan?
Did I do such a thing?
Where is Brother Xue? Has he already escaped? If he escapes, will he find someone to rescue us?
Who will come? Is it the second brother Lian or the fourth brother Min?
Will the fourth brother Min come? If he didn't listen to him at the beginning, and wanted to make military achievements, would he still be angry?
Alas, what kind of military exploits are you fishing? What's the use of being an official? It's just a name.
A pair of stinky skins, life does not bring, death does not take away, emptiness is color, color is empty, air is colorless, no desire to know, no eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body and mind, colorless sound, fragrance and touch.
"Baoyu, Baoyu."
A woman came over and walked in. She was holding her belly, she was pregnant, and she had some difficulty moving.
However, there was a happy smile on his face.
Baoyu came back to her senses.
This is his lady, Tana.
For Tana, Baoyu has mixed feelings.
Sometimes, he thinks that Tana is Guanyin Bodhisattva, who is specially here to help the suffering.
After being caught that day, he was sent to the Touren's Mansion as a slave.
Every day, they either strip themselves from the mud, or shear the grass and sheep, or carry water to pick up cow dung.
In short, it is to work endlessly and work again.
Every day, I eat fried yellow rice, or corn paste, and I can't eat a single meal, and I often wake up hungry in the middle of the night.
Every night, more than 20 people were locked up in a manhole, and it was difficult to even turn over. If you get up and relieve yourself, you won't even have a place to sleep when you go back.
Countless mosquitoes, seemingly endlessly biting, up and down the body, almost no good places, painful and itchy. Let life be worse than death.
When working, as long as the movement is a little slower, the leather whip will be put on the body.
Now that she thinks about it, Baoyu doesn't know how she survived those days.
Just when he felt that he could no longer support it, Master felt that he could take Tana to the Touren's Mansion.
Tana was watching them take off the blank that day, and she didn't know what to do, so she smiled at Baoyu.
At that time, Baoyu thought of Daiyu. It seems that Tana is the embodiment of Daiyu.
However, then he understood that it was not Daiyu, just a strange girl.
After a while, the housekeeper came, and when he saw Baoyu, he was full of smiles.
This housekeeper is usually unsmiling. As long as he smiled at one of the slaves, he suffered.
Either he was beaten half to death, or he was punished with more hard labor.
Now, he smiled at Baoyu, and Baoyu felt that he was about to face another catastrophe.
The housekeeper led Baoyu into a room, gave him a new set of clothes, a new pair of shoes, and told him to wash his face and comb his hair.
Then they led him to the chief's house.
Baoyu didn't know what they were going to do for themselves. However, everything is not up to him, he can only do whatever people tell him to do.
Otherwise, they were whipped up, hung and beaten, or tied with ropes and dragged on the prairie by horses.
The head man gave Baoyu two paths, one was to continue to be a slave with him, and the other was to marry a girl as a wife.
This girl is Tana.
It turned out that Tana took a fancy to him and asked her father Jue Neng, who asked for Baoyu with the head man to be her son-in-law.
Without thinking, Baoyu agreed to marry Tana. How could he let go of such an opportunity to escape from slavery?
Baoyu didn't know why Tana took a fancy to her, but he followed Jue Neng and Tana to Badger Island, and escaped the fate of slaves, which was real.
Here he married Tana and began a life that seemed heavenly compared to that of a slave.
No longer have to do those hard labors, no one beats him and scolds him, although it can't be compared with the life in Rongguo's mansion, but he is also the master here.
When the people of Badger Island saw him, they were going to call him sir.
All of this was brought to him by Tana.
"Baoyu, it's cold, add a leather coat."
Tana draped a lambskin coat over Baoyu.
"Tana, is Senior Brother Changjin back?"
"Not yet, they want to get more dried vegetables, pickle them in a few days, and keep them for the winter."
"Why don't you pickle it now?"
"There is no tank, but there is no need to rush, after a few days the lake is frozen, go to Dayu Island, push the tank there from the ice, and then you can pickle vegetables."
"Why is there still our tank on Big Fish Island?"
"My dad used to have a practice house there, and there was everything."
"There's still a house there? I'm going to see it someday. ”
"You have to go and see, and I will take you there in the next few days."
