Chapter 9: Elena's Hobbies

It turned out that before they knew it, they had arrived at the port of Casali in the Central Bay. The calm sea is as if it has been dyed with blue dye, and the slightly swaying water reflects the sun's rays. More than a dozen stone piers jut out of the edge of the harbor and stand in the middle of the sea, with various ships docked next to them.

In the center of the port is a huge square with a length and width of several hundred meters, and the ground is paved with large bluestone slabs. The square is full of people coming and going, and it is a busy scene.

The four giant stone sculptures in the center of the square firmly caught everyone's attention. It was four full-body figure sculptures carved out of white rock, roughly estimated to be more than fifty meters high, and the lowest thirty or forty meters high. They are lined up and look out to sea.

"Look at the Rebel Hero Statue!" exclaimed Eth excitedly. "This is one of Casali's symbols!"

"Ah, that's right, these statues are said to be as old as Casali and have been there for more than two hundred years. Felder said as he walked towards the center of the harbor square.

As Felder said, shortly after the city of Casali was founded, four giant statues were erected to commemorate the leaders who led the rebels to victory in the Battle of the Ages: Cromwell, the dwarven god of war, Deirdre the elven ranger, Rains Nelson, the chief knight of the humans, and Cedric, the master of the goblin mechanic.

Vane strolled through the piazza of the harbor on bluestone slabs, the most relaxing moment he had ever had since arriving at Casali. A gust of sea breeze ruffled Vane's hair, and he unconsciously lifted his head slightly and narrowed his eyes. Not far away, four tall figures seemed to have life in the sun, and an inexplicable sense of security soothed Vane's heavy mood a little.

"Ahh

Vane looked ahead, and Elena and the others were gathered around something. Why do girls like to scream so much...... Vane thought helplessly and walked over.

"Ahh And in the middle stood a green-skinned goblin wearing a wide-brimmed hat.

"This lady, this cute short-legged iguana comes from the distant Magic Kingdom of Dvosk. The goblin's eyes were hidden under the brim of his hat, and his mouth was grinning to reveal a mouthful of white teeth.

"It'...... Don't bite, do you?" asked Elena, a little worried. It was an olive-green iguana with dark green stripes.

"Of course not! these little ones are Divosk's most popular pets. If you don't have an iguana, you won't make friends in Dvosk!" said the goblin dance.

"Or do you want to look at this gray-backed iguana again?" the goblin asked, pulling another iguana out of the box.

"No, no, this one. Elena counted twenty silver coins and gave them to the goblins.

"Keeping an iguana is very simple, you just need to take a little time out every day to put it in a tree or grass and it will eat on its own. The goblin chattered as he tossed the silver coins into the nearby chests, seemingly enjoying the sound.

Elena got up with the short-legged iguana in her hand and was about to leave, when the goblin spoke, "I think you're here for a tour, right?"

"Suffice it to say, we are preparing to sail to the Duchy of Lukan. Elena said as she gently stroked the iguana in her hand.

"Unfortunately, I heard that the route to the south has been suspended. I've been stuck here for a few days now, so unlucky, I still have a bunch of little ones to take care of......"

Ten minutes later, the Casali port passenger ship ticket office.

"Sure enough, the green-skinned little man said it was wrong, what a bad luck!" Felder leaned against the wall, a little dejected. Next to him was a large crumpled piece of paper that read: "Due to a storm at sea, the route in the direction of the Duchy of Lukan and the Kingdom of Divosk was suspended for three days. ”

"We can try other things, like riding a split-hoof ox. Simpson said, wiping the sweat from his head, his clothes were soaked.

"Big man, you really don't have common sense. Felder shrugged his shoulders and continued, "To the south of here are the Chiyi Mountains, which stretch for hundreds of miles. Not to mention that you might crush the Splithoof Ox to death, it's almost impossible to climb over the Red Wing Mountains. There's the largest volcano in the continent of Laffrey, the Mestre crater, where the split-hoof cow will only turn into a grilled steak. ”

"Do we have to wait three days? I don't want to spend a minute in the Gulf of Tonkton. Ace pouted.

"Perhaps, we can move to the Central Bay. Are you right? Elena said as she stroked the short-legged iguana in her hand. Her fingers were slender and white, and the iguana seemed to enjoy it, lying motionless with her eyes closed.

"Elena, how can you be a girl like that kind of thing. Felder pursed his lips and deliberately exaggerated.

"What's wrong with the girls? Do girls have to dress the dolls?" Elena put the iguana on her shoulders and crossed her hands on her hips.

"Ahem, why don't we go to dinner first, and inquire about the hotel by the way. I've heard of a nice tavern......"

At Vane's suggestion, after about an hour, the group finally found the "nice" tavern. The tavern was in a narrow alley, and it looked unremarkable, with the words "Dirty Wolf Ears" crookedly written on the humble wooden signs. If it weren't for the iguana, Vane would have thought he would still be in the Beibu Bay Area.

Elena looked around, frowned, and said, "What is this place, Vane, are you mistaken?"

A few steps away, several scantily clad women were throwing winks at Vane and the others, letting out a prodigal laugh. Not far away, a drunkard leaned against a wall and whistled at several women.

Vane's face burned as he walked briskly to the tavern door, pushed open the creaky wooden door and stepped inside.

There were very few customers in the tavern, only a few people sitting at small tables, drinking beers with their heads down, looking restless. Although it is a little deserted, the quiet atmosphere with soft lighting is also relaxing. Vane and the others sat down at a round table.

"What, not even a maid. Felder looked around, his tone tinged with disappointment.

The bartender was a thin middle-aged man with a mustache and a smile that looked a little hypocritical. He walked up to the crowd, nodded and asked, "How many people, what are you going to do?"

After everyone ordered food and drinks, Vane asked, "Is there a hotel around here?"

"Our boss knows this kind of thing better than me, you can ask when he comes. The bartender nodded and smiled. Vane nodded, not thinking there was a problem in his words.

The bartender walked to the bartender, and his face, which had been smiling a moment ago, turned gloomy. He tapped three times at an empty, slightly darker barrel before humming a brisk tune.

"Squeak......" Not long after, the wooden door next to the bartender was pulled open from the inside, and a faint noise could be heard. A man clutched his right hand, limbly stepped out of it, and left the tavern without stopping.

"Sixty-four—" the bartender called lazily.

The man at a small table scrambled to his feet, walked briskly, handed his things to the bartender, and disappeared behind the door.
