Chapter 133: Daylight
Marianne knew that the "bride" was a unique kind of wraith, and that there was no clear conclusion as to where the wrath would come from. In the continent of Tivak, there are many people who study psychics, magic, magical beasts, and brute beasts, but there are very few people who study resentful spirits. The number of Wraiths is small, so they are considered aliens on the continent, and anyone who studies this knowledge is considered ominous.
The Woodland Banshee can't technically be classified as a wraith, but the previous Woodland Banshee actually "merged" into a "bride...... Marianne was quickly analyzing her opponent with the knowledge she already knew in her mind, and seemed more composed than Ian and the others.
"That's because she can't see with her eyes!" said Zandar to Ian, "and if she had seen it with our own eyes, she wouldn't be sitting there now." With that, he turned his head again to look for Mister, and found that the latter was already cowering in the corner with his head in his hands, and he was trembling.
"Damn," the lizardman whispered silently with cold eyes, "I should have killed you with a sword, as you wished." β
The wind suddenly blew in the hall of the underground shelter and gradually strengthened, and the center of the whirlwind was the "bride" floating in the center of the hall. The books spread out on the desk began to frantically turn the pages, and as the whirlwind further strengthened, some of the books on the surrounding bookshelves fell one after another, and even the bookshelves crumbled. It was like the epicenter of a hurricane.
The tall "bride" let out a piercing screech and swooped down towards Ian.
"Damn Mister!" Zandar cursed inwardly again. It seems that the "bride" is still targeting Ian according to Mister's curse, just like the Woodland Banshee.
The "bride" was tall, but extremely fast, and in the blink of an eye, she was close to approaching Ian.
Zandar calculated the landing point and threw the hammer in his hand hard. But under the action of the hurricane, both the accuracy and the strength were affected.
With a bang, the "bride" raised her hand and slapped Zandar's hammer away with her arm bone. The lizardman prince saw his hammer spun to the side, shattering a wooden chair with a heavy blow.
At this time, Ian slashed away with a sword, but it was like a slash in the air, and it couldn't hurt the "bride" who became translucent in an instant.
Then, everyone present found that the "bride" was free to switch between the two states of "unstoppable" and "ethereal", and Ian was also tossing and turning with difficulty in the alternation of a sword swing and a sword being shaken, which was extremely dangerous.
Ian tries to find a pattern. He is constantly looking for opportunities, alternating attacks with Zack's spirits. Andrew has been released by him, and he needs more concentrated strength.
After a few rounds, apart from a few more scars of his own, he could only admit that "The Bride" was able to improvise and react comfortably to his offense. Whenever her sword slashed at her, she would most likely parry it in her physical form, but if Zach was asked to attack with a psychic sword, she would disappear from the plane of reality.
"Tricky. Ian began to feel this way, and anxiety and uneasiness began to grow. But the more you are distracted, the more you are hurt.
The finger bones of the bride's hands are as sharp as two steel claws, and the length of the ten fingers far exceeds the standard of human bones.
Ian remembered the legend of the "bride" and his heart moved. He jumped back several times in a row and jumped out of the range of "The Bride". Then his eyes stare ahead, mobilizing more of his imagination.
Zandar and Mister saw a spirit emerge in front of Ian that they had never seen before.
It was the appearance of a man, dressed in the traditional attire of a groom in the Empire. The collar that held the neck fastened the button to the top, and the tunic was tucked into the belt of the gown, and a sleeveless robe hung over it......
"What is Ian going to do?" Zandar looked at the spirit quizzically. Equally puzzled by him were Mister and the "bride". Marianne could not see what was in front of her, but she could sense the location of the "bride" and Ian through the magic element, including the new spirit.
Ian spurred his mind, and the groom walked unsuspectingly towards the "bride". The steps are getting faster and faster, and at the same time, they actually open their arms, as if they are going to hug the "bride"!
The tall demon looked at the spirit suspiciously, and then as he was about to touch him, he swung his steel claws violently, tearing the groom's spirit to shreds in an instant.
"What are you doing?!, it won't show mercy to the groom," Zandar couldn't help but exclaim, "it's a demon spirit, and it's long gone with the memories of life!"
Since the birth of the first "bride" Tracy, such spirits have begun to appear on the mainland, and often in places where love tragedies occur.
"I'm just ......," Ian muttered, not bothering to explain. He just wanted to see if he could confuse the groom by his appearance, and if it was rumored that the "bride" avoided appearing in the morning because of the wedding celebration, perhaps the groom's appearance would bother her.
Marianne heard their conversation and guessed what Ian had done, and couldn't help but shake her head.
The wraith lunged at Ian once more, her screams echoing through the halls. But the next moment, her cry became terrible.
A huge cloud of light appeared in front of its hollow eye socket impartially, and it grew bigger and brighter.
"The reason why these spirits appear only in the afternoon," came Marianne's feeble voice, "is because they are afraid of the morning light, which makes them hidden." β
Now everyone had to close their eyes, except for the "bride", who had no eyes, and could only cover the hollow eye sockets helplessly with two steel claw-like hand bones, but as if to no avail, she clung to her head in pain. The light is everywhere, penetrating the hand bones and skull of the "bride", and even if there is a crack in the bone, the light will immediately penetrate it.
Ian, with his psychic sense, took advantage of this moment to urge Zack to rush towards it quickly and silently.
With a "click", Zack's long sword pierced through the arm bones of the demon spirit that he had reached out to block, and bone fragments were scattered one after another. It really can't get out of shape!
Marianne's daylight was so powerful that she was blind and had been living in this dark underground shelter for a long time.
"Although I
There was no more daylight," Marianne seemed to guess what Ian was thinking, "but the morning light was still clearly alive in my mind. β
Ian didn't think much of it, and urged Zach to quickly withdraw his sword, then turned around and burst forward from the other direction.
The blue spirit grew faster and faster, attacking the "bride" from all directions, gradually turning into a blue light, dancing around the demon spirit in the hall.
The "bride" gradually lost the strength to fight back under the sunlight, and could not hide, so she could only barely parry Zack's attack in place.
Suddenly, only a crisp sound was heard, and with a "click", Zack's long sword pierced through the white wedding dress and the sternum inside.
Zach drew his sword sharply, slashing off the "bride" before it could make a move, slashing off its head.
The strange screams of viciousness and pain seemed to puncture their eardrums, but fortunately they passed away quickly. The wind in the hall gradually subsided, and the air returned to calm.
Marianne looked tired and sat down in her chair in a daze. The large, blinding ball of light had dissipated, and Ian was still hard to see when he opened his eyes. After a while, my eyes adjusted to the dim light, and I saw nothing but mess.
"Are you alright?" Ian asked, looking around.
The culprit, Mister, remained curled up in the corner, silent. Zandar patted the dust off his body and was getting up from the ground.
"What did you just embodied?" Marianne asked Ian in a deep voice.
"The groom. Ian replied in a relaxed tone, not caring about his mistakes.
"Childish!" said Marianne, who seemed to use her last strength, reprimanded, and then coughed violently.
Just then, hurried footsteps came from the stairs, and Sherman returned from outside.
He was surprised to see the chaos of the entire hall, and his mouth widened. Then he immediately walked over to Marianne, who was coughing violently, and stroked her back.
"Marianne," he said, "you can't force yourself to train too hard. β
It seems that he misunderstood, thinking that this was the result of a training program designed by Marianne for Ian.
"I'll make you some medicine," he said, and he walked into the kitchen.
Ian suddenly remembered something, and immediately looked around, and sure enough, there was no sign of a click. He immediately turned to Shermanβit was too late, and Sherman's screams came from the kitchen.
"Monster!" he cried out in terror and ran out.
Zandar explained to Sherman what had happened to them and where the snap had come from, then glared at Mister coldly.
"Listen," he said sternly to Mister, "Ian and I must complete this journey, and anyone who tries to harm us is an enemy. Our enemies were not only the nobles of the empire. β
"I'm sorry," Ian's voice was a little tired, "Mister, there's a reason for this. I can't get Zandar to use the Seal of Reason on you, but I'm sure that if there is a Seal of Reason, there must be other ways to help you. β
Mister had put the veil back on, his legs together
Fold, sit on the ground with your knees crossed. He looked at Ian, at least the resentment in his eyes. Mister shook his head slightly, then lowered his head again.
He was flanked by Zandar, Ian, and Pata, and both humans and lizardmen sat underground by Marianne's bed, being lectured by scholars. Pa Da is to follow their example and join in.
Sherman was still standing at the foot of the bed, but his eyes were always watching Pa Ta warily. This strange anomaly makes him feel insecure - despite the fact that Paddle sees Marianne and Ian as one of his kind.
"Mister is doing the right thing," snapped suddenly encouraged, "and revenge will be avenged." β
Ian and Zandar looked at it in amazement, their eyes twinkle as if they had thought of something.
