Caesar-class battleship
As the largest capital ships of the High Seas Fleet (Hochseeflotte), the five Caesar-class ships became the core of the German Navy's combat force during World War I. There were five ships in this class: the Kaiser (German for emperor), Frederick the Great, Catherine (Empress), King Albert (King of Prussia, son of Frederick William III), and the Regent Louitpold (Prince of the Kingdom of Bavaria, who served as regent after the mysterious death of the "fairy king" Ludwig II of Bavaria). They survived the Battle of Jutland and the 1917 crusade against Russia, and were handed over to Britain after the war, where they were all scuttled in Scapa Bay. The Caesar-class was the first German battleship to use steam turbine power, and as an attempt at a new technology, the Louitpold Regent was also prepared to install a diesel engine as the main power (but it was not installed in the end).
