Chapter 042: The Historical Jingzhou Liu Biao Group (Part I)

Because Liu Cong's reign in Jingzhou was extremely short, and his subordinates were basically Liu Biao's old department, Liu Cong basically failed to form a new small circle, and Liu Biao had the greatest influence in Jingzhou.

Liu Biao ruled in Jingzhou for nearly 20 years, which was already a very long time in the late Eastern Han Dynasty, in addition to the three families of Sun Liu Cao, only Liangzhou Han Sui Ma, Liaodong Gongsun and Liu Yan and Liu Zhang's father and son were separated for longer than Liu Biao.

Regardless of Huan Jie and Deng Xi mentioned above, Liu Biao's command also included Kuai Liang, Kuai Yue, Pang Ji, Zhang Hu, Chen Sheng, Cai Mao, Zhang Yun, Huang Zu, Lu Gong, Liu Hu, Han Wei, Huang Jie, Su Fei, Zhang Shuo, Chen Qi, You Heng, Zhang Xian, Yi Yuan, Gan Ning, Lou Gui, Wu Ju, Lai Gong, Jin Xuan, Han Xuan, Zhao Fan, Liu Du, Qi Wuhong, Song Zhong, Zhuge Xuan, Liu Wangzhi, Han Ji, Wang Cang, Huang Zhong, Liu Pan, Wang Wei, Wen Ping, Han Song, Liu Xian, Fu Xun, and two sons Liu Qi, Liu Cong and Liu Bei, who gradually became a power.

[Kuai Liang, Kuai Yue, Pang Ji, Zhang Hu, Chen Sheng]

Kuai Yue, the word is different, Xiangyang Zhonglu people. After Liu Xianqi entered Jingzhou, he helped him quell the rebellion of the thieves, and Kuai Yue and Pang Ji then went to lobby Zhang Hu and Chen Sheng, the Jiangxia thief party entrenched in Xiangyang, and made the two surrender.

Later, Cao Cao became bigger, coerced the Son of Heaven and ordered the princes to control the court. After Liu Biao's death, Kuai Yue persuaded Liu Cong to surrender and succeeded, and was awarded the title of Guangluxun, one of the nine kings.

Kuai Liang and Kuai Yue were both born in the Kuai family of the wealthy family in Nanjun County, Jingzhou, and there is no exact information to record Kuai Liang as a brother and Kuai Yue as a younger brother. After Liu Biao went south, he sought advice from them and Cai Mao, and the latter two offered advice to Liu Biao and helped Liu Biao pacify Jingzhou.

Pang Ji once went with Kuai Yue to persuade Zhang Hu and Chen Sheng, the Jiangxia thieves entrenched in Xiangyang, and after the success, Pang Ji, Zhang Hu, Chen Sheng and others were no longer recorded.

【Cai Mao, Zhang Yun】

Cai Mao, the word Deqi, is a native of Caizhou, Xiangyang. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the famous family of Jingzhou, the son of Cai Wei, his aunt was the wife of Taiwei Zhang Wen, and the eldest sister and the second sister married Huang Chengyan and Liu Biao successively to become the stepfamily. In the first year of Chuping (190), Liu Biao on behalf of Wang Rui was the assassin of Jingzhou, when the Jiangnan sect was prosperous, Cai Mao assisted Liu Biao to pacify Jingzhou, and during the period of Liu Biao, he successively served as Jiangxia, Nanjun, Zhangling and other counties. After Liu Biao died of illness, he supported Liu Cong to succeed to the throne, and in the thirteenth year of Jian'an (208), when Cao Cao waved his army into Jingzhou, he entered Cao Cao's command, and successively served as Zhonglang, Sima, and Changshui Lieutenant, and was knighted as the Marquis of Hanyang Pavilion.

Cai Mao and Zhang Yun are both Liu Cong's party, and Zhang Yun is Cai Mao's nephew. Cai Mao had been friends with Cao Cao earlier. During the period of serving Liu Biao, he once stopped Liu Qi with Zhang Yun and did not allow him to visit his seriously ill father, and also united with Kuai Yue to try to kill Liu Bei.

According to the "Xiangyang Old Records" records that Cai Mao had a good relationship with Cao Cao in his early years, Cao Cao went to Xiangyang after seizing Jingzhou, visited Cai Mao in person, entered his private room, called his wife, and said that he and Cai Mao were old friends, and had met Liang Mengxing together. It's a pleasure to see you again today.

After Jingzhou returned to Cao, Zhang Yun had no more records.

[Huang Zu, Lu Gong, Liu Hu, Han Wei, Huang Jie, Su Fei, Zhang Shuo, Chen Qi, You Heng]

Huang Zu was one of the few powerful generals under Liu Biao, who once led the army to defeat Sun Jian and take his life.

Huang Zu later served as Jiangxia Taishou, many times to resist the invasion of Sun Ce and Sun Quan brothers, Jian'an four years (199), Sun Ce attacked, Huang Zu was defeated, Liu Biao sent Liu Hu, Han Si to support Huang Zu, both of them died in battle, only Huang Zu escaped. Later, Sun Quan came to crusade many times, and Huang Zu also won a slight victory, killing Ling Cao and Xu Kun. However, Huang Zu was defeated and killed in the thirteenth year of Jian'an (208), and was chased by the knight Feng Ze when he fled. In this battle, Huang Zu took Zhang Shuo as the vanguard and Chen as the leader of the fleet, and both were killed.

Huang Jie is the son of Huang Zu, who once served as the Taishou of Zhangling, and was friendly with You Heng, and was later sent by Huang Zu to help Liu Xun fight against Sun Ce, and fled back after defeat, and there is no record of it.

After You Heng was sent to Jingzhou by Cao Cao, he was kicked to Huang Zu by Liu Biao, who originally respected him, but then he couldn't stand You Heng's arrogance, and in a fit of rage, he ordered him to be killed.

Su Fei served as the governor of Jiangxia and became friends with Gan Ning, but failed to recommend to Huang Zu several times. Later, when Gan Ning decided to join Sun Quan, Su Fei helped him escape. After the Wu army broke through Jiangxia, Su Fei was defeated and captured, and Sun Quan planned to behead Su Fei, but because Gan Ning used his life as a guarantee to pardon Su Fei, he demoted Wu Houguan to the military governor.

[Zhang Xian, Yi nationality, Gan Ning]

Zhang Xian, the former Taishou under Liu Biao, successively served as the Taishou of Lingling, Guiyang, and Changsha, and later rebelled under the persuasion of Huanjie, and the rebellion was quelled by Liu Biao after his death.

Yi, the word machine uncle, is a native of Shanyang County, Yanzhou. Yi is a fellow villager with General Zhennan and Jingzhou Mu Liu Biao, and has been attached to Liu Biao since he was young. After Liu Bei went to Jingzhou to defect to Liu Biao, Yi often visited Liu Bei and asked Liu Bei to take care of him. After Liu Biao's death, he took refuge in Liu Bei.

Gan Ning was originally under Liu Yan's command, after Liu Yan's death, Gan Ning betrayed Liu Zhang and took refuge in Liu Biao, but thought that Liu Biao was not the Ming Lord, and then left Liu Biao to attach himself to Huang Zu, and killed Ling Cao, the father of Ling Tong, when he served Huang Zu, he made great contributions, but was still not reused by Huang Zu, and then Gan Ning left Huang Zu with the help of Su Fei and took refuge in Sun Quan.

[Lou Gui, Wang Zhong]

Lou Gui, whose name is Zibo, recruited troops in the north of Jingzhou during the early peace period, gathered some troops, attached himself to Liu Biao, and later took refuge in Cao Cao.

Now many people believe that Wang Zhong was once Liu Biao's subordinate, but no relevant historical materials have been found. It is recorded that when Wang Zhong was in Guanzhong, he fed on people due to hunger and fled south to Wuguan. Later, he led the dead party to attack Lou Zibo (Lou Gui), who recruited people for Liu Biao, won thousands of soldiers, defected to Cao Cao, worshiped the Zhonglang general, and followed the expedition.

So to be precise, Wang Zhong is not Liu Biao's subordinate, and he has never worked for Liu Biao.

[Wu Ju, Lai Gong]

After Zhang Jin, the pastor of Jiaozhou, was killed by his subordinates, Liu Biao sent Lai Gong to take over Jiaozhou before the imperial court.

Wu Ju, also known as Wu Chen. is a friend of Liu Bei, and after the death of Shi Huang, he was named Cangwu Taishou by Liu Biao. But later, Wu Ju and Lai Gong fell out of harmony and raised troops to chase Gong. In the fifteenth year of Jian'an (210), Sun Quan sent Buqi to assassinate the history of Jiaozhou, and Wu Ju was attached to the internal violation. The following year, he was booby-trapped by Buqi.
