Chapter 011: Wronged! Lu Boyu
After Cao Cao fled Luoyang, according to the description in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", a total of two things happened. One thing is that Chen Gong rescued the captured Cao Cao in Zhongmu County, gave up the county order to follow Cao Cao and escaped, and the other thing is that Cao Cao ran to the house of his father's old friend Lu Bohao, and then Lu Bohao entertained Cao Cao, but the family was killed by the suspicious Cao Cao, and Chen Gong also left Cao Cao. The events of these two days are traceable in history, the events of Zhongmu County are clearly recorded in the "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms", and the affairs of Lu Boyu are also recorded in three places in Pei Songzhi's notes.
The matter in Zhongmu County is probably like this. Cao Cao changed his name and surname at that time, and fled east to Luoyang and to his hometown. When he passed through Zhongmu County on his way out of the Tiger Prison Pass, he accidentally aroused the suspicion of the local pavilion chief and was arrested back to the county seat. However, someone in the city secretly recognized him (recorded as Gong Cao) and interceded for him so that Cao Cao was finally released. In history, there is nothing about Chen Gong in this matter, Chen Gong came to him after Cao Cao became the Taishou of Dongjun, and the reason why Chen Gong betrayed Cao Cao has nothing to do with the Lu Boxuan incident.
According to the order in Pei Songzhi's note, the incident of Zhongmu County and the matter of Lu Boyao should have happened before, but we don't know what it happened now.
There are three records of the affairs of Lu Bohao's family, but they are all different, and even contradict each other, making it impossible to distinguish the true from the false.
The first is the record of the Book of Wei. "Taizu Yizhuo will eventually be defeated, so he will not worship and flee to his hometown. From the number of riding through the deceased Cheng Gao Lu Bo luxury; In his absence, his son robbed Taizu with the guests, took horses and goods, and Taizu killed several people with his hand. It means that Cao Cao and his entourage passed by Lu Bohao's house, Lu Bohao was not at home, and his son and guests robbed Cao Cao and robbed him of his horses and goods, Cao Cao counterattacked, and killed several people by himself.
The second is the record of the "Words of the World". "Taizu is too extravagant. Bo luxuriant travel, five sons are here, and the guests are prepared to officiate. Taizu thought that he was carrying his life, suspected that he was trying to kill himself, and killed eight people at night with a sword in his hand. ”
The third is the record of "Sun Sheng's Miscellaneous Records". When Taizu heard the sound of his food utensils, he thought he was trying to kill him, so he killed him at night. Then he said sadly: "I'd rather bear others than let others bear me!" "Yes." These are additions to the second account in Pei Songzhi's note.
In these three records, the record in the Book of Wei indicates that Cao Cao killed people in legitimate self-defense, while the Shiyu and Sun Sheng's Miscellaneous Records indicate that Cao Cao killed people because of suspicion.
In the record of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Cao Cao was ordered by Dong Zhuo to be wanted by Dong Zhuo for assassinating Dong Zhuo, and in the process of fleeing to his hometown, Cao Cao stayed at Lu Bohao's house. But we know that in real history, Cao Cao did not assassinate Dong Zhuo, but Dong Zhuo worshiped Cao Cao as the captain of the cavalry, and Cao Cao was unwilling to be an official under him and abandon the official and escape.
In "Shiyu", there is the words "Shi Peng has also been Zhuo Shu", indicating that Cao Cao had been ordered by Dong Zhuo to be wanted at that time, and "Shiyu" and "Sun Sheng's Miscellaneous Records" also have the descriptions of "carrying Zhuo's life, suspecting that he is trying to figure himself" and "thinking that he is trying to figure himself" in the matter of Bo Lu, but it is not reflected at all in the description of "Book of Wei".
In the Book of Wei, it is recorded that Bo Hao's son and his guests robbed Cao Cao for horses and goods, and then Cao Cao rebelled and killed them all. It is true that it can be justified from the description, but this is a bit unreasonable, we all know that Bo Hao is an old friend of Cao Cao's father Cao Song, who is Cao Song? Since he was a child, he was raised by the eunuch Cao Teng to Luoyang, and later became a member of the Third Prince! So could his friends be ordinary civilians? Boluxe's family should be either rich or expensive, at least they can't be poor, they won't be poor people, and it may be the filial piety recommended by Lu Bohao to Cao Cao.
And what was the situation with Cao Cao at that time. Cao Cao is running away, what good things can he have? And how much can a few batches of horses be worth, even if the Bo Hao family who puts a few horses in their eyes is in Cao Song's eyes, it is impossible for Cao Cao to put it in Cao Cao's eyes, don't forget that it was not the Bo Hao family who invited Cao Cao over, but Cao Cao himself. One of the reasons why Cao Cao chose Bo Lu's family is that acquaintances are easy to take care of, and the other should be that Bo Lu's family should be able to shelter Cao Cao at that time, or maybe Cao Cao also wants to get some supplies from Bo Lu's family, otherwise it makes little sense for Cao Cao to take the initiative to go to Bo Lu's house.
Moreover, the Book of Wei is the official history book of the Wei State, and it is biased in describing the actual founding emperor of the Wei State, and it is understandable that Cao Cao has some beautification and polishing in some places, but even so, the Book of Wei tells us at least three things, one is that Cao Cao did go to Bo Lu's house in history, and the other is that Cao Cao killed many people at that time.
This is also clearly recorded in the "World Language", and the specific number of people is also recorded in detail, Cao Cao killed eight people and left. In the Book of Wei, it is described as killing several people, which means that Cao Cao himself killed at least three people. Moreover, in the records of these historical materials, there is no indication that Cao Cao himself was injured, nor is there any historical material to support that Cao Cao was injured at that time, which shows us that Cao Cao killed many people almost without damage at that time.
Throughout the history of the Three Kingdoms, although Cao Cao himself is not bad at martial arts, he is not a hundred people who are killed or a thousand enemies, and Cao Cao is not famous for his bravery in the official history. With Lu Bohao's son and guests taking the lead, it is inconceivable that Cao Cao can also kill several opponents with almost no injuries. If you want to rob, Bo Lu's son plus the guests are quite numerous, and the strength cannot be so bad, if they are so weak, how can they still have the courage to prepare to rob!
Therefore, the theory of robbery is not valid, and Lu Bo's family does not need and does not want to rob Cao Cao. So why did Cao Cao do something to the Bo Hao family?
First of all, it must not be for money, because Cao Cao can't take it away and doesn't need it, Cao Cao was ready to gather people to revolt against Dong at that time, but he had to flee back first, and he couldn't bring much when he fled, so if he needed it, it was better to ask Lu Bohao's sons directly for some.
In this matter, the records in "Shiyu" and "Sun Sheng's Miscellaneous Records" are closer to what we know in history as Cao Cao, who killed people because of suspicion.
Cao Cao was a very ambitious and enthusiastic young man when he was young, and after he left Dong Zhuo, he was single-mindedly thinking about how to crusade against Dong Zhuo and Kuang to restore the Han Dynasty. But on the other hand, Cao Cao was also very afraid of Dong Zhuo's revenge, although Dong Zhuo didn't know that Cao Cao was preparing to deal with him, but Cao Cao himself knew! At that time, Dong Zhuo was so powerful that even the emperor was abolished casually, and he was a murderous fear demon king, Cao Cao thought that he would definitely not end well in the hands of Dong Zhuo (in fact, Cao Cao thought a little too much, Dong Zhuo really didn't know what Cao Cao thought at that time, he only knew that Cao Cao didn't give him face), so Cao Cao was always suspicious when he ran away.
Then when he arrived at Lu Bohao's house, he didn't know why he began to be suspicious, and then the more Cao Cao thought about it, the more suspicious he felt, and then he couldn't help but kill him. The people in Bo Hao's family were completely defenseless, and Cao Cao's own martial arts were not low, so Cao Cao killed almost all the people in Bo Hao's family at home, but Cao Cao was such a smart person, he felt that something was wrong afterwards, but it was already difficult to recover, at this time Cao Cao looked at the corpses all over the ground, and comforted himself with desolation and misery: "I'd rather bear people than people bear me!" ”
According to historical records, Shang Bohao's family was the first good person Cao Cao killed because of suspicion, but it was by no means the last.
Finally, as for the third thing that the Book of Wei tells us, this matter is also confirmed by other historical materials, that is, Lu Bohao was not at home when Cao Cao came. Therefore, Cao Cao's killing of Lu Boyu can be said to be an eternal unjust case, but it can also be said that Cao Cao was not wronged at all, which is fortunate that people are not at home.
But what is really wronged is Lu Bohao, who went home and found that his family was dead, who did Bohao offend, he asked the white-haired person to send the black-haired person!
