After Tian Chou left, he swore to avenge Liu Yu and lived in seclusion in the mountains, and Yuan Shao and Yuan Shang recruited him many times, but they did not go.

After Cao Cao pacified the north and prepared to crusade against Wuheng, Tian Chou was also resentful because of Karasuma's murder of the local scholars, so he helped Cao Cao to go out, and opened up a new road for Cao Cao when Cao Cao's Northern Expedition encountered difficulties, and unexpectedly hit Wuheng's base camp, and finally won a big victory over Wuheng. Back in the Guannei, Cao Cao rewarded meritorious deeds, sealed Tianchou as the Pavilion Marquis, and sealed 500 households. At that time, there was a division to impeach Tian Chou for being narrow-minded and stubborn, violating the right path, and only knowing that he was sticking to the rules, and he should be removed from his official position and punished by punishment. Cao Cao respected Tian Chou's actions, hesitated for a long time, and finally handed the matter over to the prince Cao Pi and the ministers for extensive discussion. Cao Pi thought that Tian Chou was the same as the past Chu State ordered Yin Ziwen to let Yu Lu and Shen Baoxu evade the reward, and he should not be forced to fulfill his ambitions. Shang Shu Ling Xun Yu and Si Li's lieutenant Zhong Xuan also thought that he could obey his own wishes, and Cao Cao also wanted to give Tian Chou the title of marquis.

When Xiahou was leaving, he stroked Tian Chou's back and said, "Tian Jun, the Lord's heart is so sincere and thoughtful, can't you even take care of this?" ”

Tian Chou replied: "That's too much! Tian Chou is just a man who fled with his faith, and he was so lucky to be blessed to live completely. How can you sell the fortress of Lulong for a reward from Lero? Even if the whole country gives me Tian Chou a single favor, won't Tian Chou have a guilty conscience? The general has always known about Tian Chou, and he still wants to do this, and if he has to do it, I hope to kill myself here and give my life. Before he finished speaking, he wept bitterly.

Xiahoudun reported this situation to Cao Cao. Cao Cao sighed, knowing that he couldn't be reluctant, so he gave Tian Chou an idle position. Tian Chou died at the age of forty-six, and his son died young. After Cao Pi was enthroned by Chan, he respected Tian Chou's virtue and faithfulness, and gave Tian Chou's nephew Tian Xu the title of Marquis of Guannei, as a tribute to Tian Chou's descendants.
