Chapter 058: The Historical Yuan Shu Group
Generally speaking, the Yuan Shu Group is to exclude the Sun family, not because these people are not important, but because these people are too strong and finally stand on their own, and then do a big career, so they simply talk about it separately.
Even if you don't talk about those people in the Sun family, as a big boss, there are a lot of people from all walks of life under Yuan Shu. The Guang Wenchen mentioned by historical materials includes Zheng Tai, Zheng Hun, Yuan Lian, Yang Hong, Yan Xiang, Xu Xuan, Shu Shao, Yuan Yin, Yuan Si, Han Yin, Ma Riyan, Jin Shang, Chen Ji and other more than ten people, military generals Zhang Xun and Qiao Rui are the leaders, even if the Sun family is not counted, there are more than ten people such as Ji Ling, Han Xian, Yang Feng, Li Feng, Le Zhuo, Liang Gang, Liu Xun, Chen Lan (Chen Jian), Lei Bo and so on.
There are indeed a lot of people under Yuan Shu's command, but the quality is a hard injury, except for the Sun family, there are almost no shots in both civil and military aspects.
Yang Hong, the head of Yuan Shu's subordinates, and Zhang Xun and Qiao Rui, the heads of military generals, are the most obvious.
Yang Hong is the long history of Yuan Shu, basically the number one adviser of Yuan Shu, the status is equivalent to Xun Yuzhi and Cao Cao, Zhuge Liang and Liu Bei, but he basically has not many records in history, and he has not seen his figure in Yuan Shu's major decisions.
And the other major Wenchen of Yuan Shu were either incompetent, dissenting, or beyond their strength.
Yan Xiang was the master of Yuan Shu, and publicly dissuaded Yuan Shu when Yuan Shu was first preparing to become emperor, but in the end he still failed to stop his lord from doing stupid things.
Zheng Tai defected to Yuan Shu after a failed attempt to assassinate Dong Zhuo, and was appointed by Yuan Shu as the assassin of Yangzhou, and died on the way.
Zheng Hun is Zheng Tai's younger brother, when the world was in turmoil, he first took his nephew Zheng Yuan to avoid the chaos in Huainan, and later thought that Yuan Shu would inevitably fail, so he took refuge in his friend Hua Xin, who was the Taishou of Yuzhang at that time.
Xu Xuan is a very important figure in the history of the Three Kingdoms. He himself was the assassin of Jingzhou during the Yellow Turban Uprising, and together with Zhonglang general Zhu Jun, he annihilated the Yellow Turban Army in Wancheng, and was one of the heroes and elders who suppressed the Yellow Turban Army. Later, because he offended the eunuchs, he was very miserable, and when Tao Qian organized the anti-Li coalition army, Xu Xuan was the Taishou of Runan, and was one of the princes who actively responded to Tao Qian and Zhu Jun at that time.
Later, the imperial court moved to Xuchang and recruited Xu Xuan, but he was captured by Yuan Shu on the way, but did not give in to Yuan Shu, and after Yuan Shu's complete defeat and death, Xu Xuan stole the jade seal and returned it to the Xuchang court.
Shu Shao and his brother became famous at home because of the fight for death, and both brothers served under Yuan Shu, and later Shu Shao saw the suffering of the people and privately distributed Yuan Shu's military rations to the people, and was almost killed by Yuan Shu.
Yuan Yin is Yuan Shu's younger brother, first appointed by Yuan Shu as Danyang Taishou, and then expelled by Sun Ce, after Yuan Shu's death, because he was afraid of Cao Cao and led his troops, he took Yuan Shu's coffin and Yuan Shu's family to take refuge in Lujiang Taishou Liu Xun.
Yuan Si was appointed by Yuan Shu as Chen Xiang, and later Cao Cao attacked Chen and his troops came to Wuping, and Yuan Si immediately surrendered to Cao Cao.
Han Yin was an envoy sent by Yuan Shu to marry Lu Bu, and later Lu Bu betrayed the alliance and sent him to Xuchang, and Han Yin died.
Ma Riyan was a veteran and important minister of the imperial court, and once held important official positions such as Taiwei, one of the three dukes, and Taichang, one of the nine kings. Li Dao and others captured Chang'an, and after taking control of the imperial court, they appointed Ma Riyan as the Taifu and Lu Shangshushi, and jointly sent an envoy to Kanto with the imperial servant Zhao Qi. Ma Riyan was despised by Yuan Shu because he had asked for Yuan Shu many times, and the runes were taken away by Yuan Shu and not returned, and Yuan Shu also forced him to be his own adviser, Ma Riyan finally died of depression in the first year of Xingping (194), and after his death, the court was ready to give a funeral, but was stopped by Shaofu Kong Rong on the grounds of being a thief.
Jin Shang was appointed by the imperial court as the next Yanzhou Assassin after Liu Dai's death, but Cao Cao had already been elected as the Yanzhou Assassin before him, so Jin Shang and Yuan Shu joined forces to defeat Cao Cao, but failed, and after that, Jin Shang followed Yuan Shu. When Yuan Shu was proclaimed emperor, he planned to appoint Jin Shang as a lieutenant, but Jin Shang fled after refusing, and Yuan Shu killed him. After Jin Shang's coffin was transported to Beijing, Emperor Xian issued an edict ordering hundreds of civil and military officials to pay homage, and his son Jin Wei was also appointed as Langzhong.
The Chen Ji here is Danyang Chen Ji, not Yingchuan Chen Ji (Chen Qun's father), who was once appointed by Yuan Shu as the Taishou of Jiujiang.
And Yuan Shu's military generals are no better than his ministers.
Zhang Xun and Qiao Rui are all old subordinates of Yuan Shu, who were named generals after Yuan Shu captured Huainan and captured Shouchun, and were the first of the generals under Yuan Shu.
Yuan Shu said that the emperor sent two people to lead a large army to crusade against Lü Bu, but the two were killed by Lü Bu and lost their armor, and Qiao Rui was captured alive by Lü Bu. In the same year, Yuan Shu sent two more people to resist Cao Cao, but the result was another big defeat, Qiao Rui was killed, and Zhang Xun barely fled back.
Li Feng, Le Zhuo, Liang Gang and other generals were also killed by Cao Cao's army in this battle, and the backbone generals under Yuan Shu's command were recorded to have hung up four, and Yuan Shujun's strength also plummeted after this battle.
Ji Ling is also one of the generals under Yuan Shu, who once led an army to crusade against Liu Bei alone, and was finally stopped by Lu Bu, which may be why Ji Ling was despised by Yuan Shu, and Yuan Shu never used it again.
Chen Lan and Lei Bo were originally Yuan Shu's subordinates, and they had taken refuge in the two after the decline of Yuan Shu, but they were rejected, and later the two gathered tens of thousands of people to loot in the Jianghuai area, and were finally broken by Zhang Liao.
Liu Xun was the Taishou of Lujiang under Yuan Shu, and after Yuan Shu's death, he became one of the largest direct beneficiaries, basically taking over the remnants of Yuan Shu's forces. At that time, Yang Hong and Zhang Xun, the leaders of Wen and Wu under the command of Yuan Shu, were ready to lead everyone to join Sun Ce, but they were robbed by Liu Xun on the way, and they also returned to Liu Xun. Later, Sun Ce defeated Liu Xun, and Liu Xun was forced to take the rest of his troops to Cao Cao, and Yuan Shu's eldest son Yuan Yao and other relatives eventually returned to Sun Ce.
In addition to the above-mentioned people, Chen Yu and Zhuge Xuan may also have served Yuan Shu in history.
Chen Yu was once appointed by Yuan Shu as the pastor of Yangzhou, and refused Yuan Shu to enter the city when Yuan Shu was defeated by Cao Cao and went south to Shouchun, so he broke with Yuan Shu, Yuan Shu reorganized the army and defeated him, Chen Yu fled to Xiapi, and succeeded him as General Anton after Tao Qian's death.
Zhuge Xuan is a descendant of Zhuge Feng, the commander of the Western Han Dynasty, Zhuge Liang's father, who was originally under Liu Biao, and later resigned because of the death of his brother Zhuge Jue (Kong Ming's father). In the Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms, it is recorded that Yuan Shu was listed as his successor after Yuzhang Taishou Zhou Shu fell ill, but soon the imperial court appointed Zhu Hao as Yuzhang Taishou, and Zhu Hao received the support of Liu Xuan, and finally defeated Zhuge Xuan.
Historically, the Yuan Shu Group is obviously quantity and quality, but then again, as long as there is a little vision and ability, how many people will do things under Yuan Shu's hands? Yuan Shu is ambitious, but it's a pity that he doesn't have that ability, so the talents under his command basically went to Sun Ce.
Yuan Shu himself is not an excellent lord, his ambition exceeds his strength too much, and most of his subordinates are mediocre, so in history, Cao Cao organized the armies of various princes before Shouchun, and the Yuan Shu group could not be maintained, which is not an incomprehensible thing.
