The concubine shall not mourn for three years for his eldest son, because the eldest son of the concubine will not inherit his grandfather. As the heir of the great sect, he will serve the inherited.

In "Mourning Clothes", it says: Why 3 years? Those who accept the heavy responsibility of sacrificing to the temple must serve the person who accepts the heavy responsibility of their own sake. What kind of person can be his heir? The same great sect can be his heir. What kind of person can be someone's heir? The second son born to a person's wife, and the son born to a concubine. As someone's heir, for someone's grandparents, for someone's wife, for his wife's parents, brother, brother's son, as someone's heir, for these people, as someone's own son. Wives are to be put to death for their husbands.
