Chapter Seventy-Four: The Rest of the Island

"You've done your best, and a thousand words can't express how grateful we are to you." Katyusha said to the dolphins, took out three boxes of canned sardines from her backpack, opened them, and sprinkled the dolphins' favorite food into the water in front of them.

"Thank you! Take care of yourselves, lovely elves. Hopefully we'll have the chance to meet again. Hugh waved to them.

The dolphins seemed to understand him, nodded thoughtfully, and made waves in the shallow water, gradually swimming towards the distant sea.

Olivia and Luis waved their hands and looked at the back of the dolphin that was gradually moving away: "Goodbye friends, next time I will prepare a little more fish for you~"

After bidding farewell to the dolphins, the members of the Secret Service Team carried the old captain up to the beach and moved to the shade of a tall coconut tree.

"Why don't you see off our captain here, and hopefully this island will be the last piece of paradise in his life." Hugh suggested.

"Let's fulfill his last wish, and he will be happy if he has a spirit in heaven." Katyusha echoed.

"I'm going to find the tools." Louis finished speaking and walked towards the depths of the jungle ahead, and it wasn't long before the sound of blades slashing through wood could be heard.

"We're going to look for the necessary materials, too." Katyusha and Olivia walked towards the reef area by the beach, looking for stones of a good size.

Hugh used a large conch shell found on the beach and acted as a shovel to dig up the sand under the coconut tree next to him, stacking it aside for the old captain.

After more than half an hour of busyness, the captain's grave was ready, and the side was filled with stones of different sizes, and Louis used a dagger to cut a small tree with a thick bowl mouth and cut it into a wooden tablet, and carved the inscription on it with the tip of the knife: "Beloved Firelight 002 Old Captain Jack is buried here", and the inscription underneath: "Vulcan Company 2032.8.28"

Everyone worked together to slowly put the captain into the tomb, buried it with sand, and then reinforced it with stones, and finally erected a wooden monument, and Katyusha deliberately found a few unknown wild flowers from the bushes on the side, placed them in front of the tombstone, and stood in silence with everyone.

"Rest in peace, Captain. May your spirit in heaven bless us with a safe return. Olivia prayed silently in her heart for the captain.

"You have worked all your life for the company, and now you have to be buried here, although this is your last wish, but we still feel that we can't let go, and we hope that this small island can bring you peace and warmth." Katyusha brushed away her long, messy hair that had been pounded by the sea in front of her, and quietly stared at the captain's tombstone.

"If it weren't for their deliberate sabotage and sinking of our freighter, the captain would not have died, and we would not have fallen into the situation we are in." Louis said through gritted teeth.

"A gentleman's revenge, ten years is not too late, the coming day will be long, we will settle this account with them sooner or later." Hugh's eyes were filled with anger.

After a few moments, everyone finished a moment of silence and a farewell to the body and went to the beach.

"The size of this island is not small, and it is not easy for rescue helicopters to find it, so I think I can cut down some branches and stitch them together on the beach to make an international distress signal for SOS." Hugh asked, looking back and forth at the narrow stretch of beach.

"I think it's an idea, and it can also help them save a little time and find us faster." Louis exchanged praises, patted Hugh on the shoulder, and walked with him towards the jungle behind the beach.

"Count me in, there is strength in numbers." Olivia shouted, trailing.

Luckily except for the tall coconut trees, the rest of the vegetation was relatively low, and it was easy to climb up, and it was not long before enough branches were piled up on the grass under the trees, and it was enough to remove the leaves carefully, as long as the shape was in line with the long strip and easy to splice.

On the long, narrow beige beach, the special forces began to cooperate with each other, using a branch of similar size, and put up a 10 x 7 meter "SOS" international distress signal.

"Hey, I said Louis, your S style is too non-standardized, it's 505, and the tail at the end of the 5 is still straight, who can understand this?" Olivia craned her back and grumbled.

"I'm sorry, rectify it immediately. Hugh, come and help. The other party beckoned Hugh and quickly adjusted the words for distress signals.

At this moment, a group of monkeys emerging from the bushes not far away, standing on the edge of the beach, looked curiously at the group of humans who had evolved more successfully than themselves.

"Oh, no, these guys aren't going to make trouble, are they?" Louis looked at the dozen monkeys worriedly.

"It seems that this place is inseparable from people, and I don't want my own labor to come to naught, so let's set up camp here." Hugh suggested.

"It seems that this is the only way to go, but it doesn't seem to be our target." Katyusha pointed to the group of monkeys, and saw a few sturdy male monkeys, the first to climb a fruitful coconut tree on the side, and quickly moved towards the coconut at the top of the tree as if they were walking on the ground.

"Not to mention, I see the coconut now, and I feel extra thirsty." Hugh smacked his chapped lips and floated in the sea for more than ten hours without a drop of water, while the salt of the sea water exacerbated the process of water seeping out of his body. Because their minds were full of thoughts about fighting for a glimmer of life at sea, everyone realized that their throats were almost smoking with thirst.

By this time, the male monkeys had climbed to the top of the tree, shaking vigorously and beating the coconut in an attempt to get it out of the trunk and fall below.

The coconuts, which were already seven or eight ripe, with the efforts of the monkeys, fell very well to the beach below, raising a piece of sand. The monkeys below ducked early, cheering excitedly to welcome the fruits of victory.

Louis was impatient to snatch the monkeys' summer goodies, and two or three more coconuts fell from the sky. caused a burst of exclamations from his teammates to remind him to pay attention to safety, but fortunately, due to the relatively safe distance, there was no accident. But the monkeys soon spotted the uninvited guest and his attempt, and the monkeys below chirped, grabbed the sand and shells in their hands, and threw them at him in an attempt to drive him away. The monkeys in the trees stopped picking the fruit and moved quickly in the direction of the tree, ready to strengthen their ranks and help their own kind.
