Chapter 050: Failed Lu Bu

In "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Zhang Fei scolded Lu Bu as a slave with three surnames, although there is basically no such thing in the official history, but Lu Bu is really not much better than the slaves with three surnames?

Let's not talk about Lu Bu acting as a tiger and digging people's graves, just say that in the Xiliang Army Group, it is recorded in history that Dong Zhuo's righteous son is only Lu Bu, and Lu Bu has the identity of a lieutenant general, which means that in fact, Lu Bu has a very high status in the Xiliang Army.

In Dong Zhuo's Xiliang Army Group, the second echelon mentioned above are those Zhonglang generals, namely Lu Bu, Niu Fu, Dong Yue, Duan Xuan, Hu Zhen, and Xu Rong, and Dong Zhuo's eldest son died early, and the other sons are still young, so Lu Bu, who was both a Zhonglang general and Dong Zhuo's son at that time, has almost become the second person in the Xiliang Army.

This can be seen from Dong Zhuo's arrangement of these generals of the Western Liang Army, after being defeated by Sun Jian, Dong Zhuo retreated to Chang'an, sent Dong Yue to Xingchi, Duan Xuan to Huayin, Niu Fu to Anyi, and the rest of the Zhonglang generals and captains were distributed in various counties to resist the army in Kwantung, only Lu Bu stayed by Dong Zhuo's side, although Dong Zhuo's decision had reasons for Lu Bu to protect himself on the one hand, but on the one hand, it was not the importance of Lu Bu.

Although Dong Zhuo was a little short-tempered in history, he was not bad for Lu Bu, and he already had the intention of taking Lu Bu as his heir, otherwise he would not recognize Lu Bu as his righteous son.

It's a pity that Dong Zhuo regarded Lu Bu as his son, and Lu Bu did not treat Dong Zhuo as his father.

Just like when Lu Bu killed his old boss Ding Yuan who single-handedly promoted him under the temptation of Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu also killed Dong Zhuo under the persuasion of Wang Yun, which has to be said to be a very ironic ending for Dong Zhuo.

In history, there were three people among the Kwantung princes who did not wait to see Lu Bu, namely Yuan Shu, Yuan Shao and Cao Cao.

After Lu Bu escaped from Chang'an, he was initially ready to defect to Yuan Shu, but Yuan Shu suspected Lu Bu of being capricious and rejected him. Later, Yuan Shu's territory expanded to Yuzhou and Yangzhou, and even a part of southern Xuzhou. In the end, no matter what, Yuan Shu also became an emperor.

Yuan Shao accepted Lu Bu at first, but felt that Lu Bu had too much appetite and let him go. Yuan Shao completely defeated Gongsun Zan after that, and gradually controlled Youzhou, Jizhou, Qingzhou, and Bingzhou in the north, becoming the overlord of the north, and was once the most powerful prince in the Central Plains.

Cao Cao rejected Lü Bu's surrender in Xuzhou and killed him directly. Cao Cao later defeated Yuan Shao and became the most powerful prince in the Three Kingdoms era, laying the foundation for the establishment of the Wei state, and even a little distance away from dominating the world.

On the contrary, the princes who were good friends with Lu Bu would not end well.

Zhang Yang and Lu Bu have been in contact for a long time, the two have a deep friendship, Zhang Yang also helped Lu Bu when he was in danger, and later Cao Cao crusaded against Xuzhou, Zhang Yang also sent troops to Dongshi, echoing from afar, but it also led to him being killed by his subordinates.

Zhang Miao and Zhang Chao's brothers welcomed Lü Bu as a Yanzhou pastor to fight against Cao Cao, but Lü Bu was defeated, Zhang Miao was killed by his subordinates on the way to Yuan Shu for reinforcements, and Zhang Chao and his family guarded Yongqiu, and finally Yongqiu was broken by Cao Cao, and the Zhang family was wiped out by Cao Cao.

Liu Bei took Lu Bu in Xuzhou in order to repay his kindness, but Lu Bu fought back, but took Xuzhou from Liu Bei, and later drove Liu Bei out. But this also made Liu Bei hate Lu Bu to death, and persuaded Cao Cao to kill Lu Bu, and eventually led to Lu Bu's death, which is also a retribution.

Yuan Shu and Lu Bu were separated and reunited, and the two reconciled again in the third year of Jian'an (198), but only a year later, Yuan Shu became unable to even return to the north, and was soon abandoned by the old department, and finally vomited blood and died.

The people who once rejected Lu Bu, Yuan Shu at least became the emperor, Yuan Shao also unified Hebei and was once the strongest princes, and Cao Cao almost unified the world. On the contrary, Ding Yuan and Dong Zhuo trusted Lu Bu but were eventually killed by Lu Bu; Wang Yun regarded Lu Bu as his right-hand man, and as a result, he died in Luoyang; Zhang Yang and Zhang Miao were close to Lu Bu, and both were killed by their subordinates; In the end, Lu Bu united with Yuan Shu, and Yuan Shu immediately died and the country was destroyed; As a result, only Liu Bei, who took in Lu Bu, had the best end, just lost Xuzhou, but at that time, Xuzhou was basically all Liu Bei's belongings.

It is ironic that after Liu Bei persuaded Cao Cao to kill Lü Bu, he became a prince who could confront Cao Cao in the future, and even achieved the great cause of the emperor.

The princes who accepted Lu Bu to take refuge and treated him well included Ding Yuan, Dong Zhuo, Zhang Yang, Liu Bei, Zhang Miao, and Wang Yun and later Yuan Shu, who controlled the imperial court, a total of seven people, Ding Yuan and Dong Zhuo were directly killed by Lu Bu, Zhang Yang was killed in order to rescue Lu Bu, Zhang Miao chose Lu Bu to die and the clan was destroyed, Wang Yun reused Lu Bu, as a result, Lu Bu was defeated by Li Guo's coalition army, resulting in Wang Yun's desolate end, Liu Bei took in Lu Bu and caused him to wander again, and later Lu Bu gave up the court to join Yuan Shu, and Yuan Shu was also self-destructive.

In addition to Yuan Shu's failure and Lu Bu's lack of much relationship, the failure and death of the other six bigwigs are inseparable from Lu Bu, and it is not an exaggeration to say that Lu Bu is a "bigwig killer".

In history, those who were pro-Lu Bu died, and those who reprimanded Lu Bu were prosperous.

From this point of view, Lu Bu is undoubtedly a failure.

And Lu Bu's failure is inseparable from his character.

1. Can't insist. Lu Bu lost to Cao Cao twice in history at this point, not to mention it when he was in Yanzhou, when he was in Xuzhou, Chen Gong had already told Lu Bu that Cao Cao came from afar and could not last, Cao Cao's army was actually very tired at that time, they were all holding on, and there was also the threat of Yuan Shao, if Lu Bu gritted his teeth and did not surrender in Xiapi, Cao Cao really might not be able to fight down.

2. Be brave and unstrategic. Lu Bu is brave and famous in history, but his brainlessness is even more famous, such as being played by Chen Qi and Chen Deng's father and son.

3. Capriciousness. There are too many capricious things in Lu Bu in history, which also led him to push his allies aside, after Xuzhou was surrounded, Yuan Shu was next to him, and after Lu Bu surrendered, Liu Bei killed him, but who is to blame!

Lu Bu is completely self-centered, very naïve, and will come as good as he wants, so for a better future, he killed Ding Yuan, and because he was suppressed by Dong Zhuo, he killed Dong Zhuo, and he didn't want to send someone under the fence, so he took the benefactor Liu Bei's Xuzhou, and broke with Yuan Shu when he felt that Yuan Shu was not good, how could such a person not be capricious?

4. Suspicious and suspicious. One is Gao Shun's matter, Lu Bu is not loyal because of suspicion, and the other is Hou Cheng's matter, which eventually led to the departure of his subordinates.

In the area of character, Lu Bu and his father-in-law Dong Zhuo have a fight, Lu Bu is naïve, Dong Zhuo is arrogant.
