Chapter 652: Search Decisions
As a result of the lottery grouping, the 12 participating students of the China Armed Police University were divided into two groups and were drawn by other participating teams.
This made Jin Chen very depressed, and of the 12 participating students, 10 of them were members of the Flying Eagles. This is terrible, others don't know, but Mu Tianyu and Jin Chen clearly know that the members of the Eagle Eagles team are all special military talents recruited from various channels, and they are all personnel who are focused on training and paying attention to in the Jiangcheng Plan.
Among these 10 people, 6 are high-achieving students majoring in fire command or fire engineering.
Now, no matter which team wins, as long as the personnel of these two groups are drawn, half of the competition will be won. For other teams, it will be the strongest opponent. Because they were all selected according to the standard training of Mu Tianyu and Jin Chen.
Mu Tianyu, Jin Chen, and Zhao Zhennan had no choice but to follow the A plan prepared in advance, and quickly explained the coordination signals, gestures, abbreviations, and so on to the new 6 cooperating team members in the minutes before the start of the Sandhurst competition.
Mu Tianyu's strategy is to make as many new co-operatives as possible familiar with the signals, gestures and abbreviations in the operation. Try to make them uniform, enforce orders, and introduce each other to each other, and get acquainted with each other.
After doing all this work, I almost didn't stop, I got in the car and started to go to the field of orienteering.
It was located at the China Armed Police University
Mu Tianyu, Jin Chen and Zhao Zhennan, on the way to the car, according to the preset of each leading two cooperating team members, each explained how to cooperate with the action, quickly understood the content of the password, and responded quickly to complete the task.
When the car arrived at a wild wasteland, the guide told the team of 9 people that it was actually a team of 11 people, and the staff officer, team doctor and secretary general all rushed to the game site. A set of assignments was issued.
This set of mission books is a large sealed waterproof kraft paper envelope.
The guide opened the envelope in public and handed over all the contents to Mu Tianyu.
Everyone thought it was something, but if you look closely, there are two things: a map and a compass.
Mu Tianyu, Jin Chen and Zhao Zhennan have long known in their hearts that orienteering only has these two things. But the six military academy students who came in with the new cooperation were at a loss in their hearts when they faced a hill in front of them, overgrown with weeds and thorns.
The only girl sighed with a sad face: "What can I do about this? There is no road, how to complete the task! β
Indeed, as far as the eye can see, the hilly area in front of you is much more complicated than the situation at the special training ground for the US military's Sandhurst competition.
Under the close supervision of the recorder and supervisor, the guide asked Mu Tianyu, "Are you ready?"
Mu Tianyu replied loudly: "Ready." β
The usher then didn't say anything, and just shouted, "Okay, let's go." β
As he spoke, several chronograph stopwatches were pressed at the same time.
Guides, recorders, supervisors, all available. But they didn't say anything, just turned around and got into the car, the car started, quickly drove away, and disappeared into the mountains.
A student asked, "That's it?" What are we going to do now? β
Zhao Zhennan felt very naΓ―ve when he heard the questions of the team members who came to cooperate. He shouted to everyone: "Now that the game has officially begun, we must quickly find the 24 coordinate points marked on the map in the deep mountains and jungles on the opposite side within 3 hours." and remove the receipt card stored at the target location. β
"Wow......! It's not this hilly area, it's in the mountains. A student pointed to the mountain opposite and sighed in frustration.
Moreover, Mu Tianyu said: "Every coordinate point is a must-reach point." β
"What is a must-pass?" A boy asked.
Jin Chen hurriedly replied: "That is, all 9 members of the whole team must reach all the coordinate points." β
"After arriving at the coordinate point, everyone has to pass in front of the camera and collect the data that everyone has arrived, so that the search for a point can be effectively completed." Zhao Zhennan further explained, speaking very quickly. It indicates that from now on, it has entered the actual combat state of racing against time.
In the rules of the Sandhurst competition, there are quite strict regulations on the orienteering venue, as well as the terrain, features, and landforms.
First of all, the requirements for the topography of the competition area are:
1. It must have a difficulty that is suitable for the level of the competition, and ensure that it can enable the participants to give full play to their orienteering skills;
2. The competition area must be unfamiliar or unfamiliar to all players. At the very least, it should prevent local players in the competition from gaining a clear advantage in the competition. To ensure this, it is also clearly stipulated that a second competition may not be held at the same location for a period of three years.
3. The selection and determination of the competition area must be kept strictly confidential before the competition.
Topography is a general term for features and landforms.
Feature refers to fixed objects on the ground, such as residential land, buildings, roads, rivers, trees, etc.
Landform refers to the undulating state of the ground, such as mountains, hills, flat land, depressions, etc. Since the terrain has a great impact on the difficulty and duration of the orienteering competition, it is necessary to choose the terrain according to the needs of the competition.
In general, a qualified orienteering competition area should have the following characteristics: moderately undulating forest area with moderate vegetation; Limited visibility areas with diverse topography and sparsely populated areas.
Start and finish: The start and finish of orienteering races should be set in the same place, so that the organization of the race can be facilitated.
The starting and finishing points are generally set on open land that is flat and large enough to accommodate the scale of the race. For the finish line, it is even more flat and has enough length, so that the referees and spectators can clearly see the runners who are running back.
And this time, the Sandhurst orienteering did not put the start and finish together.
Mu Tianyu handed over the military map of 1:25,000 to Jin Chen, and the three of them began to discuss the military map and determine the route of action. Strive to complete the task as quickly and conveniently as possible.
First, they found 24 coordinate points on the map. Then connect the 24 coordinate points with a line, and try to avoid cliffs and deep waters during the connection.
However, if you only choose the best way to go, the distance will be very long, and it is completely impossible to complete the directional search to 24 coordinate points in 3 hours.
Mu Tianyu, Jin Chen and Zhao Zhennan saw that on the shortest connecting line, there were not only cliffs, but also deep rivers. If you take a detour, you will add a long distance, and it will not be possible to walk in 3 hours.
If you give up a few coordinate points, you can increase the speed and increase the insurance factor. But it's definitely not going to get a perfect score.
