Chapter 008: Pacifying Jiangdong
Sun Ce in the "Jiangdu right" plan, the first thing is to seize Wu County and Huiji, after he defeated Liu Xuan, Wu County also has Wu County Taishou Xu Gong and Yan Baihu and other forces, Huiji was occupied by Wang Lang, Sun Ce thought that Yan Baihu was not worried, so he took Huiji first.
Later, although Wang Lang did not follow the advice of Gong Cao Yu Chuan and actively defended the territory to resist Sun Ce, he was finally defeated, went into exile in the south, and was captured by Sun Ce, Yu Tuo was subdued by Sun Ce, and Wang Lang was unwilling to take refuge in Sun Ce, and was finally recruited by the imperial court to go north.
【Captive Wang Lang】
When Sun Ce went south, Xu Gong, the Taishou of Wu County, was also actively fighting against Sun Ce, and he was organizing resistance in Youquan, and then Zhu Zhi entered Wu from Qian Tang, crusaded against Xu Gong, and defeated Xu's army. Xu Gongnan fled to join the bandit Yan Baihu, and Zhu Zhi entered Wu County, so he took charge of the affairs of Taishou.
At that time, Yan Baihu and others from Wu County each led more than 10,000 people and stationed in their respective territories in Wu County. Wu Jing and the others wanted to defeat Yan Baihu and the others first, and then go to Huiji. Sun Ce said: "Yan Baihu and other thieves have no ambitions, so they will be captured. So he led his troops south and first crusaded against Wang Lang, the Taishou of Huiji.
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the south was only initially developed, and the territory was relatively large, especially Yizhou, Jingzhou and Yangzhou were undoubtedly large states, and the area was at least two or three times that of the Central Plains, and at that time Huiji was also a large county in Yangzhou, and its area was no smaller than Yanzhou and Yuzhou in the Central Plains, and the land of a county could be compared to a state.
Seeing Sun Ce going south, Cao Yu, a subordinate of Wang Lang, said in turn: "Sun Ce is good at using troops, so it is better to avoid his front for the time being." But Wang Lang did not listen, thinking that he could resist Sun Ce, so he sent troops to Guling to resist Sun Ce. At the beginning, Sun Ce crossed the water several times and could not take it.
Sun Ce's uncle, Sun Jing, then said to Sun Ce: "Wang Lang is holding the city with danger, and it is difficult to break through it immediately. From here, dozens of miles to the south is Chadu, which is the key point of the road leading to Huiji, and it should enter Wang Lang's rear from there, which is exactly what the art of war says: 'Attack it unprepared, surprise it.'" 'I must personally lead the army as the vanguard, and I will surely conquer the city.' ”
Sun Ce then took his suggestion and pretended to order the whole army: "In the past few days, it has been raining muddy, and most of the soldiers have abdominal pain after drinking this water, so I ordered to quickly prepare hundreds of earthen pots to drink clear water." "At dusk (a talk of night), many torches were lit as suspicious soldiers to confuse Wang Lang. Then, a force was sent to attack Gaoqiantun from Chadudao. Wang Lang was shocked and sent the former Danyang Taishou Zhou Xin and others to lead the army to meet the battle. Sun Ce defeated Zhou Xin and the others and beheaded Zhou Xin.
Wang Lang's army was defeated, and Wang Lang himself fled, and Yu Chuan followed him as a cover all the way. Later, Sun Ce caught up with Wang Lang and captured him, and Huiji was pacified by Sun Ce.
【Wang Lang and Yu Translation】
As Wang Lang's subordinate, although he didn't think that Wang Lang could win when Sun Ce attacked, he still did his best for him.
After Sun Ce pacified the meeting, he was eager to get the help of Wang Lang and Yu Tuo, but in the end, only Yu Tuo was willing to assist Sun Ce, and Wang Lang was recruited by the imperial court to leave Jiangdong.
Yu translated the word Zhongxiang, a native of Huiji Yuyao, and was later appointed as Gong Cao by Wang Lang. When Sun Ce went south, Yu Tuo was mourned by his father at that time, he came to the gate of the county government wearing linen and filial piety, Wang Lang wanted to welcome him into the mansion, Yu Tuo then took off his filial piety clothes and went in to meet him, Yu Tuo persuaded Wang Lang to avoid Sun Ce, but Wang Lang decided to fight with Sun Ce, after the defeat Wang Lang fled, Yu Tuo followed to the sea, and protected Wang Lang to flee to the eastern Houguan County, the magistrate of Houguan County closed the city gate and did not let them in, Yu Tuo went to persuade, and then was put into the city. Wang Lang said to Yu Translation: "You have an old mother at home, go back." Yu Chuan left Wang Lang in order to fulfill his filial piety.
According to the "Book of Wu", Yu Fang wanted to send Wang Lang to Guangling, that is, Xuzhou, but Wang Lang did not agree, he had to go to the south to find Nanyue, and when it was time to wait for the official, Wang Lang wanted to go to Jiaozhou, this Yu Fan persuaded Wang Lang: "There is no Nanyue in Jiaozhou, will it be safe for us to go" Wang Lang temporarily stopped the action.
However, the account of Yu Translation is different from that of the Three Kingdoms and the Book of Wu (Wei Yao Edition) in the Farewell Biography of the Translation.
It is recorded in "Farewell Biography" that Wang Lang sent Yu to send Yu Zhang to meet Yu Zhang's Taishou Huaxin in an attempt to raise rebels. Before Yu Tuo arrived in Yuzhang, the news that Sun Ce had gone south to crusade against Huiji came, so Yu Tuo went home. As a result, Yu Tuo's father died on the road, and Yu Tuo did not dare to go past the door of the house because he was a messenger and in order to complete his responsibility.
The records in the "Book of Wu" and this biography are basically consistent, and there are too many discrepancies in the records in "Farewell Biography", and Hua Xin should have been Yuzhang Taishou after Zhu Hao's death, and when Sun Ce was crusading, Yuzhang Taishou should have been Zhoushu, so the reference value is not great.
And after Yu Chuan came back, Sun Ce still appointed him as Gong Cao, and treated him as a friend, and personally visited him, "Jiang Biao Biography" recorded that Sun Ce wrote a letter to Yu Chuan at that time: "Today's affairs, should be shared with the Qing, do not say that Sun Ce is treated as a county official." Yu turned to Sun Ce.
At that time, Sun Ce not only wanted to get Yu Translation, but also wanted to get Wang Lang, but unfortunately it was different from Yu Translation, Wang Lang did not appreciate Sun Ce at all.
Wang Lang's word Jingxing, he was originally a subordinate of Xuzhou Thorn Shi Tao Qian, and was later sent by Tao Qian to Chang'an to meet the Son of Heaven, so he was appointed as the Huiji Taishou, so Wang Lang was originally Tao Qian's subordinate, and it may even be a chess piece in Yangzhou, but later Xuzhou went through chaos, after Liu Bei and Lu Bu came to power, the relationship between Wang Lang and the north was weakened.
When Sun Ce went south, although Yu Fu thought that Wang Lang's strength could not resist Sun Ce, it was better to avoid him. However, Wang Lang thought that he was a Han official and should keep the city for the Son of Heaven, so he sent troops to fight Sun Ce, was defeated, and went to Dongye by boat. Sun Cejun pursued again and defeated Wang Lang, and Wang Lang was captured by Sun Ce. And Sun Ce thought that Wang Lang was an elegant person, and did not harm him after questioning. In the "Spring and Autumn Period of the Emperor", there is a record of its relevant content.
According to the records of the Spring and Autumn Period of the Han Dynasty, after Wang Lang was captured, Sun Ce wanted to use it for his own use at first, and sent Zhang Zhao to contact Wang Lang privately, but Wang Lang swore to die, Sun Ce was very angry about this, but did not dare to harm him because of Wang Lang's prestige, and just left him in Qu'a. In the third year of Jian'an (198), Cao Cao recruited Wang Lang, and Sun Ce let him go.
At that time, because of the war, the traffic was very inconvenient, and Wang Lang also arrived in Xuchang after a long time. He was appointed as a counselor and served in the military department.
Although Wang Lang wandered everywhere and was in a difficult situation, and he could not think about the affairs of the evening in the morning, he took in and sympathized with his relatives and friends, shared more with them and less from them, and did things that were still very moral.
