Chapter 381: United Front
This congress of the Communist Party of India is not just one party in South Budiribad, but all the communist parties in India, and the party of General Secretary of South Budiribad is only one of them. As Serov knows, there are currently seven national parties in India with the Communist Party's name.
This is actually not a good thing, and it seems that it has been a problem since the first days of socialists. Probably because no one knew what socialism really looked like, the socialists were faced with the problem of constant division from the beginning of their existence, and without this problem, there would have been a time when the Second International and the Third International would not have coexisted. The Second International is now the Socialist International, and the Third International is the famous Communist International.
This trouble ensued when all revolutionaries considered themselves to be the purest of revolutionaries, and at a time when the Third International had temporarily disappeared, there was still Trotsky's Fourth International, which was still very strong in the sixties, and if I remember correctly, it was these men of the Fourth International who carried out the May storm in France a few years later. For the time being, Serov has not yet counted the Fifth International.
This idea, which they all think is the most correct, weakens the revolutionaries of all countries, because while they insist on their ideals, their primary enemy is the fraternal parties that are very similar to their own ideas, but with completely different means.
To briefly summarize this complex relationship, the Socialist International and the Eastern Bloc of the Soviet Union were on guard against each other, because many parties of the Socialist International supported their own governments in waging war in the First World War. Therefore, in the eyes of the Communist Party of the Third International, the Socialist International was a traitor to the working class and an accomplice of imperialism. The Socialist International proclaimed itself the true socialist, and adopted a cooperative and confrontational attitude towards the Communist Party on the side of the Soviet Union. The same is true on the Soviet side, shout comrades when you can use it, and talk about it when you can't.
As for the Third and Fourth Internationals, starting with Stalin and Trotsky, the two gangs were destined to be hostile. From the beginning of Stalin's one-country construction of socialism and Trotsky's world revolution, both have been in a life-and-death attitude. Trotsky had only one way not to lose to Stalin, and that was to win the Battle of Warsaw at the time of the founding of the Soviet Union, and then make Germany red, and when Trotsky's Tukhachevsky was defeated in Warsaw and the political commissar Stalin at the time was reviewed, the two were destined to be enemies.
Now this trend still exists, Serov, if he is not mistaken, after the tension between China and the Soviet Union, the communist parties of many countries were divided into two, either supporting China or the Soviet Union, and of course supporting the Soviet Union was the majority.
On the question of the Communist Party of India, Serov did not expect a revolution in such an environment in India, because it was too difficult. But the Communist Party of India can't be too weak, how can such a weak be a boost to the Soviet Union? Therefore, taking advantage of the fact that India has just failed during this time, it is necessary to quickly unify the thinking and unite the Communist Party of India, even if it is temporary.
For this reason, he even asked Comrade Gromyko, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was in New Delhi, to attend, in fact, this role is usually played by Andropov, head of the Central Liaison Department, but considering that Andropov had just returned to China, anyway, Gromyko and Andropov did similar things, so Serov invited Gromyko and Nehru to attend together.
"The goals of the Communist Party of India in recent decades have been too confusing, learning from our October Revolution and learning from China's rural encirclement of the cities, and from time to time it has developed a partnership with the Congress Party. Comrade Gromyko, I don't even know how to evaluate our Indian comrades, and if we don't take advantage of this defeat in India to integrate, maybe in a few years the Indian comrades will not know what to adopt! Serov was talking and tasting black tea, but it was not from China, Ceylon is a big tea country, and it is easier to get Ceylon black tea in India.
"It seems to be like that!" Although Gromyko was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andropov was engaged in the communication between the socialists, and he was not very professional after all. Gromyko did not want Andropov to deal exclusively with such diplomatic issues.
"At present, we are just in the post-defeat period, and it is the most important time to unite, I am afraid that after we are gone, the Communist Party of India will split, Comrade Gromyko, I believe you also know that in our history, division is not a new word!" Serov slowly finished the black tea and continued, "India does not have the conditions for a revolution in the short term, and the discontent of the people needs to be aroused to a certain limit, so let the general secretary of Nambudiribad communicate with the chairman of the Tangi party, promote unity and see what changes will take place in the future......
In his long-term plan for India, Serov hoped that the Indian Communist Party would be the first to make a breakthrough in several states. After all, Nehru was not as incompetent as Peanuts, and it would be very difficult to turn India into a Republic of China if it were not for the collective action of a group of selfish idiots.
Although India is starving, it can still survive, and Nehru's government is not full of idiots, if India's 500 million people can also explode ****** every year, then there is no need to talk about it, hurry up and support the Indian revolution.
The Soviet Union's favorite is a leader like Peanut, which is better than Peanut at a little bit of the level. It is better that the army below is even more incompetent than the army of peanuts, but it is a pity that many countries can meet the latter condition, but it is really difficult to find such an incompetent ruling party. Not to mention that the Soviet Union exported revolutions for such a long time, and the greatest achievement was China. No matter how bad the environment is for China, the Soviet Union will not be able to find it.
The contradictions in India are far from the point where they can inspire revolution, which is also the reason why Serov has always wanted India to annex Pakistan, there are no contradictions that can create contradictions, and small contradictions can stimulate big contradictions, and when the time comes, the contradictions in India have reached the point of fighting to the death, who said that the Communist Party of India has no chance of ruling at all? Revolutionaries loved this kind of environment.
The First Congress of the All-India Communist Union was held in New Delhi on December 9, and Serov made great efforts to give the Indian comrades who were a little on the stage the opportunity to participate. In New Delhi on December 9, the city turned into a sea of red, and Communists from all over the country, waving the red flag of revolution and emblazoned with sickles and hammers, poured into the capital of India.
"I really want to shout at the proletarians of the whole world to unite in this kind of scene!" When Serov saw this sea of red, he said with emotion in his heart. The proletarians of the whole world unite, this is the national motto of the founding of the USSR. But now there is not much mention of it in the Soviet Union.
"Sometimes, it's also a good experience to go abroad to see this kind of scene more!" Soviet Foreign Minister Gromyko also lamented that he had gone through that time, when he was still quite young. In fact, Gromyko's age is not too old now, but Serov next to him is even younger.
This is the biggest venue Serov has found from New Delhi, the weather is good today, in order to accommodate as many people as possible, in fact, this event was held in an open-air stadium, given Serov's little knowledge of India, this should be a cricket stadium. Nehru built a number of projects at the time of India's independence, and this may have been one of them.
"Today, we are honored to welcome two foreign guests at the grand gathering of Indian socialists, one is Comrade Gromyko, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, and the other is General Serov!" Nambudiribad, general secretary of the Communist Party of India, announced to a loudspeaker in the middle of the venue, causing a burst of cheers from the members of the Communist Party of India in the venue, and the Soviet Union was still very attractive in the eyes of the Communist Parties of other countries at this time.
Gromyko and Serov got up at the same time and motioned to the Indians sitting around the cricket pitch. The main purpose of this CPI congress was unity, so the current Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, was also invited. General Secretary Nambudi Ribad and Party Chairman Tangi delivered speeches respectively, emphasizing the theme of unity.
"Yes, like many comrades, I was actually against this policy at the beginning of the forward policy, and I thought that this policy would exacerbate the otherwise calm situation, and it turned out that my fears had become a reality." General Secretary Nambudiribad said to the tens of thousands of PKI present, "But the matter is irreparable, what India needs now is unity, we are all Indians, what we need to do now is to unite and with the help of Soviet comrades, help Prime Minister Nehru tide over the difficulties, and the future belongs to India......
After the general secretary Nambudiribad finished speaking, the entire cricket stadium resounded with thunderous applause. Gandhi's pupils shrank, and when he glanced at his father, he saw Nehru's calm face as if he hadn't heard anything.
"Both the Congress and the Communist Party are an integral part of India's political power, and I would not be upset by the criticism of the Communist Party, but I personally have reservations about such statements. India needs to be united, and I agree with General Secretary Namdiribad and Chairman of the Tangi Party, let us unite and get out of the whirlpool of war to build a better India! Nehru shouted to the Indians present, "The future of India is bright!" ”
Bang Bang Bang! Serov smiled and applauded, the goal was achieved, in one word, a bit of a united front.
Serov's punch hit Nehru in the soft underbelly, and Nehru was facing challenges from some people at this time, these people were none other than his challengers within the Congress Party, right-wing politicians, at this time Nehru certainly needed support, and the Communist Party of India, which had great influence on the left, was the object to be fought for.
