Chapter 103: The Revival of Nalanda Temple (Part II)

"It's very unreliable to put the hope of opening up the Indian market on the monks, the academic communication is a very professional thing, why should they distract themselves from the promotion of goods, and besides, what we produce still needs to be marketed? As long as the monks who go there send some samples to their classmates and local princes, are they afraid that they will not be able to sell them? The key is what is the main quest of the first phase of our India Raiders? Headmaster, I don't think it's colonization and dumping, right? Wang Neng asked.

"What do you mean? You mean I'm going to engage in ideological implantation by supporting the network hub of Nalanda Temple? All right! I admit that it means. It seems that nothing can be hidden from you old fritter. The main task is to arrange for a group of monks to go to Nalanda Monastery to study Buddhism, not the previous study at public expense paid by local princes and devotees, but the more popular self-funded study abroad in the local area. You know the benefits of the campus economy! The benefits brought to the local area by hundreds of international students will be a foreshadowing for the second phase of my future. ”

Three months later, Gwanghae crossed the sea to the Ganges Delta with three of his proudest disciples and more than 400 of his most profound companions in the whole Dharma, and took a boat against the current to Fahrenheit, and then turned to walk southeast to the legendary Lingshan Daleiyin Temple (Nalanda Temple). Zhao Shouzhong's plagiarized Journey to the West has become popular throughout East Asia.

As soon as they arrived at Nalanda Monastery, they made a great vow not to return to China until they had translated ten Pali scriptures. Then, he used the Song money and Chenji money gold and silver coins exchanged in advance to purchase a large number of local materials, indicating that he did not need to accept the grants and various allowances of the master and the temple, but donated enough valuables such as pen, ink, paper, inkstone, incense and incense for the whole temple to last for three years.

This series of actions won the favor of the declining monks of the monastery, and opened the library and library for the monks who came from afar to study the scriptures. Considering the local poverty situation for a long time, Buddhism is not a charitable organization, but also needs to eat.

When Zhao Shouzhong plagiarized Journey to the West, he studied the sources of funds for major religious activities, and Buddhism was not like the Abrahamic religions that could collect tithes. It is recorded in "Journey to the West" that the four Tang monks and apprentices came to Lingshan with great difficulty, met the Buddha, and the Buddha passed on the scriptures. The two Venerable Ones called Ah Ao and Ka Ye to preach the scriptures, and the two Venerable Masters and apprentices led the four masters and apprentices to look at the names of the scriptures, and after reading them, they asked the four for personnel. Master Sanzang traveled thousands of miles to the west to get the true scriptures, except for the robe and bowl, where is there any personnel. The two Venerables smiled and said, "Good, good, good!" Passed down from generation to generation with white hands, future generations should starve to death! Wukong didn't allow it, and wanted to sue the Buddha, which led to a story of a white-character scripture. The four masters and apprentices returned to Lingshan and asked for the scriptures, and the Buddha smiled and said, "You don't shout." The two of them asked you for a relationship, and I knew that. But it is only a scripture that cannot be passed on lightly, nor can it be taken in vain. When the monks went down the mountain, they recited this sutra to him at the house of the elder Zhao of Sheweiguo, to ensure the safety of the living in his family, and the deceased to be detached, and only asked him to come back with three buckets and three liters of rice and gold. I also said that they are tired of selling cheaply, and they have no money to teach their children and grandchildren. Now you have come empty-handed, but you have passed on the blank book. Those who are white are wordless scriptures, but they are also good. Because you, the beings of the eastern land, are ignorant and do not understand, you can only pass on this ear. Later, he asked the two Venerable Ones Ah Ao and Ka Ye to pass on the scriptures, but the two Venerable Ones still asked for personnel. The Tang monks and apprentices had nothing to do, so they had to give up the purple gold bowl given by the Tang King in exchange for the true scriptures with words.

After reading it, many people think that this Buddha is also very realistic, to make the future generations of monks have money, then ask people for money, chanting once to three buckets of three liters of rice grains of gold, more expensive, it can be seen that the monk is also greedy, while promoting the idea of "all laws are empty, the four are empty", while also asking for money to use, looking at the rich and poor people in the world have contributed to the temple of Wanguan's family property.

This is not the case, starting from reality, not to mention that there were no photocopiers in Indian society during the Tang Dynasty, and even paper was expensive. Although papermaking was invented by us Chinese, the real technology of photocopying is still thousands of years later. Tang monks and apprentices, just promised to learn the scriptures, although it is a relative of the emperor, but can not bring some high-ranking officials to the Buddha, a big mouth to send the scriptures to the Buddha with white hands, the Buddha in the world are a little well-behaved, people are big, just handwriting will take many years, not to mention spread everywhere? It's like a scoundrel in the market, who saw a baked cake stall and stepped forward and shouted: "Hey, that old man who baked cakes, give me one to eat." "Why? It's just a kind giveaway, can the scoundrel look down on what others give? Don't take it lightly? Therefore, the Buddha asked for personnel, not for money, the four are empty, money is something outside the body, the Buddha wants dignity: I have it, you come to ask me to give, but you have to endure hardship, and you have to give money. You know in your own heart that you have suffered a lot, but your people do not understand it, and they only have money to measure, and only when they spend money can they understand, and the truth is not easy to speak, and the scriptures are not taken back casually. If you pay for it, you will respect my knowledge, and if you pay for it, you will always remember the meaning of my scriptures. What's more, paper is expensive, ink is also expensive, it is not easy for the Buddha to print once, and it is reasonable to pay some ink and paper. "Journey to the West" pretends to be a personnel, but it is nothing more than to illustrate a truth: respect knowledge, knowledge for money!

Starting from the aspect of the Dharma: Buddhism propagates the ideological principle that "all dharmas are empty and the four are empty", which is a philosophical thought, but this kind of thinking does not mean that nothing can be asked for or that nothing is needed. Money is something outside the body, but money is also a necessary item for people to interact with each other. The body is originally skin, but it is also an important storage unit for the defense of the mind. In the Dharma phase, color is emptiness, emptiness is color, color body is also emptiness, and emptiness is also color body. The monk looks at money, whether it is money or money, and the monk uses money, and he does not use it, but the color body survives in the world, and the reason that the color body does is nothing more than eating, drinking, living and traveling. There should also be communication between the mind and the body, and the skin and hair should be subject to the parents, and since they exist in the world, it is enough to follow their original laws. Since the body needs to eat, drink, and use money, there is no need to be imprisoned, otherwise what is the reason for entrusting the body to the body?

When you buy sutras with money, you respect the Buddha, and the Buddha respects the Buddha himself. Using money to nourish the body is that the Buddha respects the Dharma, and it is also the Dharma that respects the Buddha. At least one thing can be understood: Whenever the elder Zhao of the country thinks of sending scriptures, he feels grateful to the Buddha or not, and he is sure that he is distressed about money. But in that case, he must have remembered that someone had recited sutras to his whole family.

Ideology is very modern, and it is very good to understand the part of various ancient cultures that involve the fundamental content of civilization and surnames, and the most important thing in the strategy is to smoothly implant all kinds of private goods that they hope to implant once and for all into India, a hierarchical and backwater society. Use the tide of the commodity economy to weaken or even eliminate the Brahmin caste system that was established after the Aryan invasion to bind people's surnames, and gather the resources and talents of the whole of India for our use.

Nalanda Temple, which is the most important place of Buddhism in the world, and the highest level of education and Dharma exchange, should naturally be operated as the top priority. As a result, a tide no less than the Renaissance began to slowly brew in this highest Buddhist institution. In addition to carrying various materials and setting up various workshops and industries, the main task of the subordinates who went with the exchange monks was to re-establish the lofty Buddhist and cultural status of Nalanda Monastery in the local area. In order to recreate the glory of its heyday, not only a large number of surrounding outbuildings were built, but also a large number of cement and a large number of glass products produced by the public were used to make this complex into a modern university-like educational institution that is the tallest, largest, most expensive, and most convenient for human beings to study, live and study theories. In addition to a large number of glass lamps for evening lighting, there are all kinds of facilities for monks to study and live. In all respects, it is on par with Chenji Academy.

Through a series of operations, it is equivalent to injecting 10 million yuan at once, and the controlling stake of this old institution and religious institution has been acquired in a reasonable, legal and compliant manner. Priceless Sanskrit scriptures and Pali scriptures were translated by the monks who had been injected into the temple, and handed over to the printing house set up in the northern suburbs of the temple for printing and publishing, and the supporting paper mills, ink and pharmaceutical chemical factories, and bookbinding and packaging factories also inadvertently became the driving force behind this revival of Buddhism in India, just as Johannes Gutenberg's invention greatly advanced the Renaissance in Western Europe, and became an important supporting entity in the Transital Project.
