Chapter 019: Is Uncle Huang an Uncle Huang?
【The Fallen Descendant】
Compared with Cao Apu's classmates who like to love to climb relatives and Sun Wu, the legendary ancestor of the Sun family, Liu Bei's life experience is still relatively clear.
There are only two important records of Liu Bei's life history in history.
The first article is on the "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms", the original text is "The ancestor is surnamed Liu, the word Xuande, a native of Zhuo County, Zhuo County, and after the victory of King Jing of Zhongshan, the son of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty." Sheng Zizhen, Yuanjia six years Fengzhuo County Lucheng Pavilion Marquis. Sitting on the gold and losing the marquis, because of the family. This is also known to us.
And who is Liu Sheng, the king of Zhongshan? He was the son of Emperor Jing of Han and the brother of Emperor Wu of Han. In the third year of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty (154 BC), Liu Sheng was named the King of Zhongshan. In the fourth year of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (113 years ago), Liu Sheng died at the age of fifty-three.
In history, the most famous thing about this prince is that he likes to drink or listen to music, but that he loves to make people, how many sons does Liu Sheng have? There are more than 100 in historical records. That's right, you read that right, it's three digits! Even today, two thousand years later, there are as many as twenty or so sons whose names can be found, which is completely unimaginable today.
One of Liu Sheng's sons, Liu Zhen, was named the Marquis of Lucheng Pavilion in Zhuo County, but he later lost his title due to his drunkenness, which led to the decline of the family, and he was also thought to be Liu Bei's ancestor. Jin refers to the tribute money that the princes gave to the court for sacrifice, and Liu Zhen was deprived of the title because he did not pay the gold to the court.
But Liu Zhen's family did not leave a family tree or anything else to prove that Liu Bei is his descendant, which is strictly speaking, two thousand years later, we do not have sufficient evidence to prove that Liu Bei is a descendant of Liu Zhen, and in the Three Kingdoms period when Liu Bei was alive and the Wei and Jin dynasties when Chen Shou was alive, we can only say that we are not clear, Liu Beiqing is not clear or whether Chen Shou has sufficient evidence, we don't know.
The second is the record in the "Dictionary" that "the preparation of the Linyi Hou Zhi is also". What does that mean? The "Dictionary" believes that Liu Bei is not a descendant of Liu Sheng, the king of Zhongshan, but a descendant of Liu Rang, the sixth grandson of Liu Shun, the king of Changshanxian, or Liu Fu, the grandson of Liu Yan, the king of Qiwu.
The book "Dictionary" was written privately by Wei Guolang in the Three Kingdoms, which belongs to the wild history, and has been lost to this day, we can only see its style from Pei Songzhi's supplement, although some of the views of the "Dictionary" are different from the "Three Kingdoms", but it is still believed that Liu Bei is a descendant of the royal family.
But the same statement that Liu Bei is a descendant of the Marquis of Linyi is not supported by sufficient evidence today.
Although Liu Bei died early because of his father Liu Hong's early death and his family fell into the middle of the road, the Liu family's local power is not small, Liu Bei's grandfather Liu Xiong was also promoted to filial piety, and the official was Fan Ling of Dongjun. Liu Bei was even able to worship Lu Zhi as a teacher with the help of Liu Yuanqi, an elder of the same sect, and became a classmate of Gongsun Zhan, which can show that the Liu family was not a small force at that time. If you just say that Liu Bei's life experience is really difficult to check, but the background and life experience of a big clan is not easy to get wrong, especially Chen Shou is a native of Shu during the Three Kingdoms period, and Yu Feng is a native of Wei during the Three Kingdoms period, both of them think that Liu Bei is a descendant of the royal family, and the Liu family is so big, this is generally not a problem.
From the above materials and analysis, we can know that there is no sufficient evidence today, not that there is no evidence to prove that Liu Bei is a descendant of the royal family. To put it simply, with the available information, we cannot be 100% sure that Liu Bei is a descendant of the royal family, but all the important materials that are known now support this view, and there is no other information to support that Liu Bei is a descendant of someone else or that Liu Bei is not a descendant of the royal family.
There is also a very critical point, throughout the history of the Three Kingdoms, no one has denied Liu Bei's royal identity, on the contrary, everyone basically recognizes Liu Bei's identity. None of Liu Bei's contemporaries spoke, so what can we say two thousand years later?
Therefore, on the issue that Liu Bei is a descendant of the royal family, the credibility is still very high, and it is basically certain.
[Uncle Huang? 】
Liu Bei is a descendant of the royal family is not a big problem, but is his identity as an imperial uncle real?
The saying that Liu Bei is the emperor's uncle is very widely circulated with the help of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and the original text of the twentieth chapter of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is as follows:
"Emperor Xuan went to the palace and asked: 'Who is the ancestor?' Xuande said: 'The minister is the great-great-grandson of His Excellency Emperor Xiaojing, the grandson of Liu Xiong, and the son of Liu Hong. The emperor took the genealogy of the clan and checked it, and ordered Zong Zhengqing to read it out: "Emperor Xiaojing gave birth to fourteen sons, and the seventh son is Liu Sheng, King Jing of Zhongshan. Shengsheng Lucheng Pavilion Marquis Liu Zhen. Zhensheng Peihou Liu Ang. Liu Lu, Marquis of Ang Shengzhang. Lusheng Yishui Hou Liu Lian. Lovers of Qinyang Hou Liu Ying. Yingsheng An Guohou Liu Jian. Jiansheng Guangling Marquis Liu Ai. Mourning glue Hou Liu Xian. Xiansheng ancestor Liu Shu. Shu Sheng, Qiyang, Hou Liu Yi. Yisheng Yuan Zehou Liu Bi. Must be born Yingchuan Hou Liu Da. Dasheng Feng Linghou Liu is not suspicious. There is no doubt that Liu Hui, the Marquis of Jichuan. Wison Dongjun Fan Ling Liu Xiong. Xiongsheng Liu Hong, Hong Bushi. Liu Bei is the son of Liu Hong. 'The emperor ranks the genealogy, then Xuande is the emperor's uncle. The emperor is overjoyed, please enter the side hall to talk about the gift of uncle and nephew. The emperor secretly thought: Cao Cao has power, and state affairs are not up to me, and now I have this hero's uncle, I can help! Then worship Xuande as the left general Yicheng Pavilion Marquis. After the banquet was set up, Xuande thanked him and went out of the court, and since then everyone has been called Uncle Liu Huang. ”
We can see that in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", Liu Bei's identity as the emperor's uncle is conclusive, and even the lineage is written very clearly, so are these true?
It is a pity that the lineage table of Liu Bei in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" has not been confirmed in important historical documents such as "Book of the Later Han" and "Chronicles of the Three Kingdoms", on the contrary, in the study of Hu San Province in the Yuan Dynasty more than 1,000 years after the Three Kingdoms, the lineage of Liu Bei's grandfather and above has been unverifiable.
So did Luo Guanzhong make up this matter himself, or did he have a prototype before?
We will turn the history forward and find out where the source of the imperial uncle is, and we can find that Liu Bei's statement of the imperial uncle has not been recorded in the major historical documents, and even in the wild history, it is basically not recorded.
"Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is a book of the Yuan Dynasty, only thirty or fifty years earlier than the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and "Pinghua" and "Romance" are both storytelling, neither of which is historical material, but of literary works, and in terms of position, Liu Bei is the orthodox position, pro-Liu and anti-Cao.
At this point, everyone should have understood that Liu Bei's identity as the emperor's uncle is basically fictional in literary works, and it should not exist in real history. In fact, even if it exists, there are so many descendants of the Liu family, and the imperial uncle is not much different from the cabbage on the road, and the most important thing is not to rely on his own skills.
ps: Although Liu Bei's identity as an imperial uncle is not recorded in the official history, this does not prevent me from calling him by the nickname of the imperial uncle, everyone can know it.
