In all exchanges between vassal states, the princes will send doctors to visit each other once a year, and send secretaries to each other once a few years; When the new monarch ascends the throne, the monarchs will meet with each other once.

The small pedestrian, in charge of the etiquette about the reception of the guests of the vassal states, came to receive the envoys of the four directions. The small walkers would order the vassal states to pay tribute in the spring and report their political merits in the fall, which the king would personally accept, and the small walkers would receive them according to the rites of the country. Whenever the princes came to see the king, the little pedestrians would go to the border to greet the princes and at the same time perform the labor salute. When they went to the suburbs to work for their guests, arranged the pavilion for the guests, and the princes gave jade to the king in the temple, the little pedestrian would serve as the assistant.

All the envoys of the vassal states of the four directions came to the court, and they were big guests, and the small pedestrians served as guest masters of ceremonies to guide them to the king; It was a small guest, and the little pedestrians would accept their greeting and listen to their words, and then tell the king. The little walkers would be ordered to send envoys to the vassal states of the four directions to help them practice and record the etiquette that should be practiced in the Nine Rites.

The rites of being a guest include: the spring court to see the king, the autumn to meet the king, the summer Ji Zong to meet the king, the winter to meet the king, and to participate in the king's meeting, which is the etiquette that the princes and kings should perform; Questioning, visiting, visiting, large and small appointments, these are the rites that should be performed by the envoys sent by the king or the princes. The little pedestrian is responsible for sending envoys to all countries in the world, and at the same time awarding 6 styles of runes: the tiger festival in the mountainous country, the human festival in the country of flat land, and the dragon festival in the land country, all of which are cast in copper; Bamboo is used to pass through roads, to enter and exit gates and checkpoints, and to pass through quarries.

The small pedestrians will unify the styles of 6 jade tokens: the king uses Zhengui, the public uses Huangui, Hou uses Xingui, Bo uses Bow Gui, Zi uses Gubi, and the male uses Pubi. The matching method of the six kinds of gifts offered by the court is as follows: the descendants of the two kings of Xia Yin should use horses as accessories when they present to the king, and Zhang who was presented to the queen should use tiger and leopard skins as accessories; The fifth-class princes should use silk as an ornament when they present to the king, and brocade as an ornament when they enter the palace to the queen. When the princes of the second class of sons and men presented each other with dowry gifts to each other's monarchs, they offered amber and embroidered as accessories; It was Huang who was dedicated to the monarch's wife, and 黼 (fǔ) was used as an accessory. These six kinds of jade tokens are used to reconcile the princes.

If a country loses its people because of the plague, the little pedestrian will order the other country to subsidize their property; If a country suffers from a great famine, the little pedestrians will order other countries to give them food; If a country suffers from a war and the people are poor, the little pedestrians will order other countries to bail out their assets; If a country has something to celebrate, the little pedestrian will order other countries to celebrate for them; If a country suffers a disaster, the little pedestrian will order other countries to mourn and comfort them. All things that belong to the above five aspects will be governed by the relevant laws and regulations.

The little walker is also responsible for recording into a book the natural situation in all countries of the world that is favorable and unfavorable to the people, the customs, political affairs, indoctrination and governance, and whether the prohibitions of the criminal law can be observed in one book, the rebellion, riots, evils, and those who plot to violate the prohibitions in all countries of the world into a book, the plague and the great famine and the poverty of the people in all the countries of the world, and the well-being, harmony, peace and tranquility of the people in all countries of the world. Each of these five things was recorded separately by each kingdom and reported to the king, so that the king might know all the things of the world.

The master of ceremonies, who is in charge of the welcome of the ninth class guests, comes to tell the king the proper appearance, rhetoric, and moderation of concessions. When the king was about to join the princes, the master of ceremonies would order the altar to be built three stories high, and a low wall should be built around the altar to represent the palace, and a gate should be opened on each side of the palace. At the same time, the master of ceremonies is responsible for informing the king of the etiquette of the association. The king faces south to receive the princes, and bows to the princes with different surnames, to the princes with different surnames, to the princes with different surnames who are married, and to the princes with the same surname.

When the master of ceremonies summons the princes to the king, he shall each according to the rite of obligation: when he greets the lord, the king shall stand on the upper level of the altar; When he greeted Houber, the king was to stand in the middle of the altar. When the king bowed to the guests twice, he had to excuse himself three times each time, and then the guests and the messengers who came to perform the prayers entered the building, and in the process of entering the building, they had to bow to each other three times, and then ascended the stairs to enter the main hall. The guests would receive the salutation by prostrating and receiving the salute, and the messenger would then bow and give the gift.

On the third occasion, the monarch will personally perform the suburban labor ceremony, and the guest host's welcoming master of ceremonies will pass on the words to each other, and when the monarch personally performs the labor ceremony, the guests will express their excuse three times, and then ride out of the gate of the pavilion to greet the monarch, thank the monarch for his bent presence, and then the guests and the monarch enter the pavilion together. During the procession, the guests and hosts should bow to each other three times. When you come to the steps of the main hall, you have to let the monarch climb the steps three times, and the monarch will excuse yourself three times before climbing the steps to enter the main hall. Guests will receive the salute of the monarch.

When the guests saw off the monarch in the car, the monarch turned around three times to excuse himself, and the guests bowed again to show their farewell. After the guests entered the capital, the monarch arranged the premises for the guests, which was the same as the suburban labor ceremony, which was carried out by the monarch himself. The simple etiquette of setting up a banquet for the guests, which is the same as the gift of grain and cattle to the guests, is carried out by the monarch's doctor.
