Chapter 031: A Broken Alliance

【Camp Theory】

When Yuan Shao was in the crusade against Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao had prepared to set up Liu Yu as the emperor, but Yuan Shu refused, and the two were at odds, and later after Yuan Shu's subordinate Sun Jian conquered the old capital Luoyang, Yuan Shao, as the leader of the alliance, sent Zhou Ang to attack Sun Jian's stronghold Yangcheng, which made the two brothers directly oppose. After that, Yuan Shu teamed up with Gongsun Zan and Tao Qian to deal with Yuan Shao, but Yuan Shao also received help from Liu Biao and Cao Cao, so a confrontation between the two camps of Yuan Shao's camp and Yuan Shu's camp was formed.

The formation time of the two camps was also around the second year of the first peace (191).

In the spring of the fourth year of Chuping (193), Yuan Shu was defeated by Cao Cao in the Battle of Kuangting in the Battle of Chuping, and was chased by Cao Cao for hundreds of miles, and the Battle of Chuping also ended with the victory of Yuan Shao's camp, after which Yuan Shu and Tao Qian turned their faces because of the interests of Yangzhou, and Yangzhou and Youzhou were too far away, Yuan Shu and Gongsun Chan basically stopped contacting, and the Yuan Shu camp composed of Yuan Shu, Gongsun Chan and Tao Qian can be said to have collapsed.

In the first year of Jian'an (196), Cao Cao moved the Son of Heaven to Xuchang and had a grudge with Yuan Shao, and at the same time, Liu Biao also received Zhang Xiu in Wancheng to guard against Cao Cao, and the Yuan Shao camp composed of Yuan Shao, Cao Cao and Liu Biao had already begun to disintegrate.

But is the confrontation between the two camps of Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu over? No, far from it.

The war between Yuan Shao and Gongsun Chan is still going on, and the relationship between Cao Cao and Yuan Shu has never been good.

The time period of confrontation between the two camps of Yuan Shao and Yuan Shu can be divided into the following three types based on different reasons:

The first point of view is that in 191 --- 193, starting with the establishment of the two major forces in the second year of the early peace, and ending with the turn of Yuan Shu and Tao Qian in the fourth year of the first peace. This view is mainly based on the fact that the Yuan Shu camp collapsed in this year. Alliance confrontation, the alliance on one side has been dissolved, even if the alliance on the other side has not been dissolved, there is no way to talk about alliance confrontation, is it possible that the Warsaw Pact has been dissolved, does the Cold War still exist?

The second point of view is that in 191 --- 196, it ended with Cao Cao moving the capital to Xu County in the first year of Jian'an and resenting Yuan Shao. This view mainly believes that although Yuan Shu and Tao Qian ended the alliance, in fact, the confrontation between the two camps still exists, Yuan Shao still did not end the war with Gongsun Zhan, and Yuan Shu did not ease relations with Yuan Shao and Cao Cao, in fact, there is still antagonism.

More importantly, Tao Qian's status in the two camps itself cannot be compared with Er Yuan, Cao Cao, Liu Biao and Gongsun Zhan. Tao Qian and Yuan Shu are not in harmony, it does not mean that Tao Qian and Gongsun Chan are not in harmony, nor can it represent Yuan Shu and Gongsun Zhan are not in harmony, on the contrary, at this time in history, Gongsun Zhan, Tao Qian and Yuan Shu did not fall out, so it is not valid to think that the dissolution of Yuan Shu's camp at this time.

Then why do you think that the confrontation between Cao Cao and Yuan Shao will end after they have a grudge? This is mainly because after this incident, Cao Cao was clearly opposed to Yuan Shao and Liu Biao, and this statement also believes that during the period of Emperor Jian'an of the Han Dynasty, the princes as a whole moved from the confrontation between the two camps to the era of melee.

The third point of view is that in 191---199, it ended with the death of Gongsun Zhan, Yuan Shu and others. This view holds that the main body of the confrontation between the two camps is the confrontation between Yuan Shu, Gongsun Zhan and Yuan Shao, and Cao Cao, among which Yuan Shao vs. Gongsun Zan and Yuan Shu vs. Cao Cao, although in history there were many dirty things between Yuan Shu and Tao Qian, Yuan Shao and Cao Cao, Cao Cao and Tao Qian, but the confrontation between Yuan Shao and Gongsun Zhan, Cao Cao and Yuan Shu has not changed for a long time.

As for Tao Qian and Yuan Shu's falling out, it is also considered to be an internal problem of the camp, and Yuan Shu's camp has not always been fixed, the Montenegrin Army also formed an alliance with Yuan Shu and Gongsun Zan in the early stage, and later Lu Bu joined forces with Yuan Shu.

Even though Cao Cao and Yuan Shao began to discord and moved towards confrontation after moving the capital, the official war between the two sides was still after the death of Gongsun Zan and Yuan Shu. After Cao Cao and Yuan Shao had a grudge, the confrontation between the two camps could only be said to be "in name only", and it would be too much to say that it was over.

All three of these points of view are put forward by me personally, and I use the third one in this book, and it is also the one that I agree with the most.

【Double Heroes! 】

After Cao Cao moved his capital to Luoyang, his think tank expanded again, welcoming two important figures, Xun You and Guo Jia. In history, Xun You, Guo Jia, Xun Yu, Cheng Yu and later Jia Xu were known as the five major strategists under Cao Cao.

Xun Yu, the word Gongda, Xun Yu's nephew. As early as the first year of Zhongping (184), he was recruited by the general He Jin to worship the Huangmen squire. After Dong Zhuo's rebellion, Xun You discussed with the speaker Zheng Tai, He Hao, Shizhong Chongji, Yue Cavalry Captain Wu Qiong and others to prepare to get rid of Dong Zhuo, but the matter was leaked, Xun You was also caught, fortunately Dong Zhuo was soon killed by Lu Bu, so Xun You was released, and later served as the city minister, but Xun You did not go to the post, but asked to serve as the Taishou of Shu County, but because the road was impassable, he stopped in Jingzhou.

Guo Jia, whose name is Fengxiao, was a native of Yangzhai (now Yuzhou, Henan) in Yingchuan at the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty. When he was about twenty years old, he once traveled north to see Yuan Shao, but after seeing him, he said to Yuan Shao's advisers Xin Ping and Guo Tu: "A wise man can measure his master prudently and thoughtfully, so he can take all measures very thoroughly, so that he can make meritorious contributions." Yuan Gong only wanted to emulate Zhou Gong's Corporal Lixian, but he didn't know the truth of using talents. Thinking a lot and lacking the essentials, like to plan but not decisive, it is really difficult to save the country from danger with him and build the great cause of being the king and hegemonic! ”

So Guo Jia and Xun Yu left Yuan Shao and stayed idle for several years.

In the first year of Jian'an (196), after Cao Cao welcomed the Son of Heaven to Xuchang, Xun Yu was promoted to the Han Dynasty, acting as Shang Shuling, and often lived in the middle of the court to manage the government, and although Cao Cao was fighting outside, he had to plan with Xun Yu for major military affairs, and Xun Yu was in the middle and could not be separated, so Cao Cao asked Xun Yu: "Who can replace you for me to give advice?" ”

Xun Yu replied: "Xun Yu, Zhong Xuan." ”

Cao Cao then wrote to Xun You and said: "Today's chaos is the time for strategists to bother to work hard, but you are watching the changes in the situation in Shu Han, isn't it too conservative?" So Xun You was recruited as the Taishou of Runan County and entered Beijing as the secretary.

Cao Cao had always known Xun You's reputation, and when he talked to him, he was very happy, and said to Xun Yu and Zhong Xuan: "Gongda (Xun You's character) is not a mediocre person, I can work with him, and there is nothing to worry about in the world!" made him a military advisor.

In history, the Yingchuan County native Xi Zhicai was a person who was good at planning, and was recommended to Cao Cao by Xun Yu, and Cao Cao also valued him very much, but Xi Zhicai died early.

So Cao Cao wrote to Xun Yu and said: "Since Zhicai's death, I have no one to discuss big things with. There were many peculiar people in Ruchuan and Yingchuan, who could inherit the drama talent? ”

Xun Yu recommended Guo Jia. Cao Cao summoned Guo Jia and talked to him about world affairs.

Cao Cao said: "The person who can enable me to achieve great things must be this person." After Guo Jia came out, he also said happily: "This is my real master." So Cao Cao asked Guo Jia to make the priest's air sacrifice wine.

Xun You and Guo Jia followed Cao Cao for a long time in the future, and they had many good strategies and tricks, and they showed their style in Cao Cao's future military career.
