Chapter 1036: The Buddha and the Demon Disciple

Remember [Pen โ™‚ Fun รท Book] in one second, and read it for free without pop-ups!

The so-called steamed cake is steamed bread. Although this thing was made into steamed buns in the Han Dynasty, since the Jin Dynasty, Hu Feng has become more and more prosperous, and people have renamed it steamed cakes and cage cakes. It was not until the Great Song Dynasty that the old name was restored.

As soon as the little beggar's words fell, there were bursts of laughter from the audience.

"The concubine is unreasonable!"

"It's ridiculous that a beggar also wants Buddha treasures! Do you have that blessing? โ€

"People are self-aware, but it's a pity that this beggar doesn't."

โ€ฆโ€ฆ

However, Cui Geng neither reprimanded the little beggar nor ridiculed him for his inadequacy, but said gently: "This little brother, can you tell me why you want this Buddha treasure?" โ€

"Because...... Grandpa is dying. The beggar sobbed and said, "I only have one relative like my grandfather, please ask the master to give me the Buddha treasure and save my grandfather." โ€

Cui Geng nodded and said, "I see." Since your grandfather is so important to you, why are you willing to exchange only one steamed cake for a Buddha treasure? โ€

"Because...... Because ......" The beggar swallowed and spitted, "This is my most precious thing, I don't want to take advantage of the master, there is really no way." I beg you, I beg you...... As long as you promise me, I will make you a cow and a horse......"

"You don't have to be a cow or a horse." Cui Geng raised his right hand and interrupted: "It's really hard for you to be filial, I changed this treasure." โ€

"Huh? Did you really change? I thank you. โ€

The beggar fell to his knees and knocked his head several times.

Cui Geng waved his hand, took out a piece of gold from his sleeve pocket, about one or two weights, and said: "Medicine and medicine do not die and disease, and the Buddha is destined to be a person." Buddha treasures are not necessarily useful, you take this money again, find a doctor, two-pronged, do your best to obey the destiny of heaven. โ€

"Thank you, Master, thank you, Master."

The beggar kowtowed again and again, turned and left.

This led to two Buddha statues, and for the last Buddha statue, people went up one after another, and the competition became more and more fierce.

The property they gave was getting better and better, but Cui Geng shook his head and didn't change it.

There was even a wealthy merchant who offered to exchange a thousand taels of gold for this Buddha statue, but he resolutely refused to allow it.

The rich merchant said angrily: "You monk, it's so unreasonable. You are willing to change a steamed cake from the beggar Suo'er, but you refuse to change my thousand taels of gold, your Buddha, is that what you want to promote the Dharma like this? โ€

"It's a coincidence, and you really said it." Cui Geng smiled slightly and said, "That's right, my Buddha really asked me to promote Buddhism like this." โ€

"You...... How unreasonable you are! โ€

Cui Geng said unhurriedly: "It's not that it's unreasonable, but it's true." Dare to ask this benefactor, how much wealth do you have? โ€

"You don't even know me? I am the richest merchant in the city of Xiyuan, and Park Sunset is also. There are always hundreds of thousands. โ€

"Yes. Your family wealth is hundreds of thousands, but you are only willing to exchange a thousand taels of gold for Buddha treasures. In other words, they are willing to exchange a few tenths of their wealth in exchange. And the little beggar exchanged a steamed bun, that is, all his property. What do you think...... Who is more sincere to the Buddha? โ€

"I ......"

The rich merchant was speechless, and changed the subject: "What did the peddler say just now?" No matter how poor he is, two pears are nothing to him, right? โ€

"Indeed, those two pears are nothing to him. However, when he used it, he didn't want to exchange anything from me, which is unintentional goodness, which is very valuable. โ€

"Unintentional goodness? Then others also claim that they don't want to change things, and you also give him the Buddha treasure? โ€

"A claim is a claim, and a fact is a fact." Cui Geng said: "In this way, I will send you a couplet, and you will understand: although there is a heart for good, although good is not rewarded, and if there is no intention for evil, although evil is not punished." โ€

This couplet is from the later Pu Songling's "Examination of the City God", which is very famous.

During the Tang Dynasty, the Buddhist doctrine of karma was very crude in terms of making it easier for people to understand.

As soon as Cui Geng took out the famous sentence of this later generation, for ordinary people, it was simply deafening.

"Okay, Master Cui is really a monk."

"What is the true transmission of a sentence, the false transmission of thousands of books, I can be regarded as knowledgeable now."

"It's really a blessing to be able to listen to Master Cui's teachings today."

โ€ฆโ€ฆ

In the admiration of the people, the rich merchant descended from the high platform in disgrace.

Then, Cui Geng struck while the iron was hot and told a few small stories about Buddhism, the general meaning of which is sincerity.

For example, a corrupt official was tried after his death, but the king of Hades said that he should be reincarnated in a rich family. That corrupt official is strange, I haven't done anything good in my life, why did I end up so well. Then the king of Hades said, because you once wrote a letter asking the court not to increase the salt tax, and you are completely selfless. This alone will nullify all your sins and your wealth. The corrupt official said, "However, my court may not be able to play it." Hades replied, if the court is approved, you should be crowned a prince in your next life, not just a rich and noble family?

For another example, if a woman doesn't know how to recite the Buddha, and someone makes fun of her, she says that reciting the "mallet" is the recitation of the Buddha. So the woman kept reciting the "mallet." After 30 years of recitation, a Buddha descended and took her to ascend in the day and enter the Western Heaven Elysium.

โ€ฆโ€ฆ

After telling a few short stories, the people have a deeper understanding of sincerity and spirituality.

Cui Geng then looked at the woman who had lost her daughter and said, "You understand now, right?" If there is a monk who uses the amount of money to measure whether he is respectful to the Buddha, it is the disciple of the demon king Bo Xun pretending. If you measure whether you are respectful to the Buddha by the amount of your mind, you are the true Buddha. โ€

The woman's face was full of shame, she fell to her knees, and said, "The folk girl blamed the master for her mistakes, and asked the master to forgive her sins." It's just that...... Now there are disciples and grandchildren of the demon king, occupying Fengde Temple, I don't know what Master Cui is going to do? โ€

Cui Geng is waiting for this sentence!

Bongdeoksa Temple is the dojo of the protector of the Silla Buddhist Gate, and even Kim Jo Kyaw is reluctant to attack him.

What did he just exert all his efforts to mobilize people's emotions and establish his authority? Isn't it just to call on the people, create public opinion, and help the little girl avenge her hatred?

Immediately, he suddenly got up and said angrily: "I want to go to Fengde Temple to find out the disciples and grandchildren of the demon king, and seek justice for that poor little girl!" You guys...... Who wants to come with me! โ€

"I do!"

"May I attach the tail of the horse!"

"Kill the demon son and demon grandson!"

โ€ฆโ€ฆ

I have to say that the monks of Fengde Temple are too immoral in what they did, and they are angry. And Cui Geng's appeal now is too strong.

Immediately, the people were excited and enthusiastically participated.

Jin Qiaojue felt that it was not a problem, and lightly pulled Cui Geng's sleeve, and said, "Mr. Cui, please think twice, this Fengde Temple...... It's not easy to mess with. โ€

"If you don't get rid of the demon monks in Fengde Temple, how can the people admire Buddhism? How can the Dharma be practiced in the world? Cui Geng stared at Jin Qiaojue's eyes and said, "A certain mind has been decided, so far, where are you standing?" โ€

"I ......"

"Spreading the Dharma" hit Jin Qiaojue's death hole at once. He gritted his teeth and stomped his feet, and said: "Mr. Cui is worthy of being the reincarnation of a great monk, in order to promote Buddhism, he knows that there are tigers in the mountains and prefers to go to the tiger mountains." The disciple is not talented, but he is willing to protect the Dharma! โ€

"Okay, Your Royal Highness Prince, relax, I won't make it difficult for you."

Then, Cui Geng shook his spirit and brought tens of thousands of people to the direction of Fengde Temple. Jin Qiaojue also hurriedly sent someone to notify the government, just in case.

There was such a big commotion, how could the monks in Fengde Temple not know?

Cui Geng came to the front of the temple, but saw that the eight hundred monks and soldiers were each holding a blade, and the bow was wound out of the sheath, and the formation was opened, and he had been waiting for a long time.
