Section 453 Ming Tang Position

Walking in the Jongmyo Temple, the footwork of respect and humility is also different. The princes of the Son of Heaven and the corpse are the most respectful, the walking steps are small, the speed is slow, and the footprints of the hind feet should press half of the footprints of the front feet, which is called "receiving martial arts"

The doctor is respected as a little inferior, the walking steps are slightly larger, and the footprints of the hind feet should be followed by the footprints of the front feet, which is called "Jiwu"

The status of the scholar is humble, the steps of walking are the largest, and the distance between the back foot footprints and the front foot footprints should be kept one foot, which is called "Zhongwu"

No matter where you are, as long as you are Xu Xing, this pace is applicable.

Keep your heels off the ground quickly, but don't sway your hands and feet.

When taking small steps, it seems that the feet are not off the ground, and the hem of the clothes rubs the ground like running water, and it is also a small step when sitting or leaving the table.

When you are galloping, your head should be slightly lowered, and your cheeks should be slanted like eaves.

Keep your feet up frequently when running.

Lift your feet steadily, don't finger paint with your hands, don't squint your eyes, don't move your mouth, don't cough randomly, don't nod your head randomly, hold your breath on solemn occasions, and stand with a virtuous atmosphere and a solemn complexion.

Sit upright like a corpse (a person who is sacrificed on behalf of the deceased).

Teach others to be gentle and amiable when you are idle.

Whoever participates in the sacrifice must have a look and color like the real ghost and god being sacrificed, and must not have a perfunctory demeanor as usual.

During the period of mourning, the filial son always has to show a tired appearance, with a sad face, his eyes are shocked and dazed, and his voice is weak.

When wearing military uniforms, you must look resolute, give orders, have a stern expression, be vigorous, and have a discerning look.

In the presence of people of high status, although they should stand with a posture of self-deprecation, they should not go overboard to the point of flattery.

Usually when standing, the head and neck must be upright, standing like a mountain, just walking, appearing full of strength, showing beauty outside, and the face is as warm as jade.

(14) In the Ming Hall, the Duke of Zhou received the court of the princes in the Ming Hall, and his position was: the Duke of Zhou represented the Son of Heaven, carrying an axe on his back and standing facing south.

The three dukes stood in a row before the middle steps, facing north, and regarded those who leaned on the east as honorable people; The princes of the marquis stood in a row on the east side of the eastern steps, facing west, and regarded those who leaned on the north side as honorable men; The princes of the counts stood in a row on the west side of the western steps, facing east, and made those who leaned on the north side as honorable men; The princes of the viscount stood in a row on the east side of the gate, facing north, and made those who leaned on the east side as honorable men; The princes of the barons stood in a row on the west side of the gate, facing north, and regarded those who leaned on the east side as honorable men.

The kings of the Yi tribe of the East stood in a row outside the east gate, facing west, and regarded those who were near the north as honorable people; The kings of the barbarian nations of the south stood in a row outside the south gate, facing north, and regarded those who were on the east side as honorable men; The kings of the Rong kingdoms of the west stood in a row outside the west gate, facing east, and regarded those who leaned on the south as honorable men; The kings of the Di kingdoms of the north stood in a row outside the north gate, facing the south, and regarded those who leaned on the east side as honorable men; The shepherds of Kyushu stood in a row on the outside of the gate, facing south, and regarded those who leaned on the east side as honorable men; The priests of Kyushu stood in a row outside the gate, facing north, and regarded those who leaned on the east side as honorable people.

The monarch of the distant country of the four stops can only come to the court once when the new monarch ascends the throne.

This is the position arrangement of the Duke of Zhou when he accepted the court meeting of the princes in the Ming Hall.

In this sense, it can be said that the Ming Hall is an indication of the dignity of the princes.

In the past, King Yin was tyrannical and unreasonable, causing the world to be restless, and even killed the king of the ghost country and made it into dried meat, which was used to feast other princes.

Therefore, the Duke of Zhou assisted King Wu to fight the war.

King Wu died, King Cheng was still young, so the regent of the Duke of Zhou, acting as the Son of Heaven, to govern the world, the sixth year of the regency, the princes of the world all came to the Ming Hall to meet, formulated a variety of etiquette and music, promulgated the law of unifying the world's weights and measures, the world is all happy and convinced.

In the seventh year of the regency, he returned the power to King Cheng.

King Cheng believed that the Duke of Zhou had established a meritorious service for the world, so he named the Duke of Zhou in Lu, built the capital Qufu, owned a land of 700 miles square, and thousands of military vehicles, and ordered the monarch of the State of Lu to sacrifice the Duke of Zhou with the etiquette and movement of the Son of Heaven from generation to generation.
