Previous Chapter

The rolling Yangtze River is passing away, and the waves are sweeping away the heroes. Success or failure turns empty. The green mountains are still there, and the sunset is red several times. On the white-haired fisherman river, accustomed to watching the autumn moon and spring breeze. A pot of turbid wine is happy to meet. How many things in ancient and modern times are laughing and talking.

This chapter provides a brief comprehensive evaluation of the three families of Wei, Shu, Wu, and other princes.

【Discussion of the Three Families】

Among the Three Kingdoms, Wei is the strongest, and in Wu, Shu is the weakest.

In terms of civil and military affairs, the military aspect is mainly based on military capabilities, and on the other hand, it is based on politics and strategy.

The relatively strong commanders and generals of Wei included Cao Cao, Zhang Liao, Cao Zhen, Xu Huang, Sima Yi, Deng Ai and other six people, and Wu including Sun Jian also had Lü Meng, Zhou Yu, Sun Ce, Lu Xun, Lu Kang and others, and Shu only had Guan Yu and Zhuge Liang.

It can be found that Wu is not inferior to Wei in terms of generals, and the generals' quality is even higher, whether it is Sun's father and son, or Lu's father and son, including Zhou Yu and Lü Meng, all of them are commanders of the army, in contrast, Zhang Liao and Xu Huang in Wei have not really commanded any large-scale battles as a commander.

Among these strong generals, this is also a pity for the two, not that they are not as capable as others, but Cao Wei did not give a chance, even if Zhang Liaowei was appointed by Cao Cao as the general of Zhengdong after the earthquake of Xiaoyaojin, he was quickly replaced by the Cao family, he himself as the commander only dealt with some thieves, and when guarding Hefei, he was also three generals side by side, as for Xu Huang's treatment, it was not as good as Zhang Liao's. If the two of them survive to the Cao Rui era, the situation may be much better.

Compared with Cao Wei and Wu Guo, Shu Han is much worse, among all the generals, only Guan Yu and Zhuge Liang still said that it is okay, Liu Bei himself will not say it, there are more defeats and fewer victories, and several generals under his command Zhang Fei, Ma Chao, Zhao Yun and Huang Zhong are not top generals, although Jiang Wei resists the overall situation, but his ability is average.

In terms of politics and strategy, the Wei State was much stronger, led by Cao Cao and Xun Yu, including Sima Yi, Xun You, Cheng Yu, Jia Xu, Liu Ye, Dong Zhao, Chen Qun, Jiang Ji, and ten people; On the Wu side, Sun Quan, Lu Xun, Zhang Hong, Zhou Yu, Lu Su and Lu Meng are also very capable; As for Shu Han, only Zhuge Liang and Fa Zheng can still see the past, especially Fa Zheng has not been able to serve Liu Bei for many years.

On the whole, in terms of talents, Wei is much stronger than Wu, and the gap between Shu Han and the other two countries in this regard is at least a mile.

In terms of territory, Cao Wei inherited most of the northern territories, including the former Youzhou, Jizhou, Qingzhou, Bingzhou, Yanzhou, Yuzhou, Xuzhou, Sili, Liangzhou, and parts of the former Jingzhou and Yangzhou, with a territory area of about 2.91 million square kilometers and a population of nearly 5 million; Wu has three prefectures, Yangzhou, Jingzhou and Jiaozhou, with a population of more than 2.5 million and a territory of about 1.45 million square kilometers; As for Shu, there is only one state, Yizhou, with a population of about 1.1 million and a territorial area of about 1.07 million square kilometers.

Obviously, the comprehensive strength of Wei is stronger than that of Wu and Shu combined, and the national strength of Wu is twice that of Shu.

The three kingdoms can reach a strong situation within decades, the union of Wu and Shu is the first priority, although there has been a period of filth between the two countries, but in most of the time they can still unite against Wei, which is also a prerequisite for the balance of the situation of the three countries, and secondly, geographically Wu is backed by the Yangtze River, relying on natural risks, and there is a huge advantage that the northerners are not good at water warfare, Shu also occupies the Hanzhong area, easy to defend and difficult to attack, so that Wei has returned many times in vain.

Looking at the three kingdoms of Wei, Shu and Wu separately, the national strength of Wei is indeed very strong, and there are many opportunities to dominate the world, but the leaders at that time failed to grasp it, starting from Cao Cao's battle of Chibi, until Cao Rui and Cao Pi periods, Cao Wei had the opportunity to destroy Shu and Wu.

In the Battle of Chibi, if Cao Cao did not rush into the blind command, or seize Hanzhong and take the opportunity to go south to attack Yizhou, Cao Pi would have a great opportunity for Wu Shu to break up at the beginning of his reign, and if Cao Rui took care of his body, the chaos of Wu State could be expected later.

However, there is no if, after Cao Rui's death, the Cao family began to decline, the change of Gaopingling, Cao Wei has existed in name only, and the Sima family spent thirty years seizing power, during which there were constant disputes within the Wei State, otherwise the Shu State and the Wu State might not last so long.

As for the State of Wu, there are many internal talents, and there are talents from generation to generation in the military aspect, escorting the old Sun family, connecting with Shu Han, and backing the Yangtze River, which can be said to be the main combat force against the Wei State.

It's a pity that in the later period of Sun Quan, the state of Wu has begun to decline, the internal struggle intensified, Lu Xun and Zhu according to the two prime ministers have not been able to escape the catastrophe, after the death of Sun Quan, it is even more chaotic, and the abolition of the establishment has happened, and so on to the Sun Hao period, the state of Wu is a mess by this faint tyrant, if it were not for the good foundation of the state of Wu, there is a natural danger to follow, and it coincides with the eventful north, Sun Wu would have died long ago.

Shu Han is the weakest among the three kingdoms, not to mention compared with Wei, even the gap with Wu is also very obvious, and a very important factor for Shu to be able to establish a country for decades is internal stability.

Since Zhuge Liang put down the rebellion in Nanzhong, there have been no major changes within Shu, and Li Yan has only been dismissed, and the government has not been significantly impacted, and it can only be said to be a drizzle compared to the internal harassment of Wei and Wu.

But even so, after the decline of the national strength of the Shu Kingdom, it was quickly eliminated by the Sima family, after all, the gap in strength was still too big.

[A brief discussion of the princes of the late Han Dynasty]

Before the establishment of the Three Kingdoms, there were also a group of heroes in various places, including the strongest two Yuan (Yuan Shao, Yuan Shu), Gongsun Zan and Liu Yu in the north, Han Sui, Ma Teng and Song Jian in the west, Tao Qian and Lu Bu in the middle, Liu Biao, Zhang Jin, Liu Yan and Liu Zhang father and son in the south, and so on.

However, these princes have obvious shortcomings, Yuan Shao is indecisive, Yuan Shu is arrogant, Gongsun Zhan has no self-knowledge, Liu Yu is excessively benevolent, Han Sui, Ma Teng and others are weak, Tao Qian is too old, Lu Bu is capricious, Liu Biao is self-contained, Zhang Jin is feudal and superstitious, Liu Yan is unbearable, and Liu Zhang is the lord of mediocrity.

Among the many princes, it is not a surprise that Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan were able to stand out. Although Cao Cao himself likes to get carried away, his personal ability is very strong, he is very good at military affairs and strategy, and can humbly listen to the correct advice under his command; Although Liu Bei's own ability is not strong, he has won the hearts of the people, and dares to fight and never gives in; Sun Quan is an excellent second generation of Quan, who is extremely good at power, but unfortunately he overplayed it in the later stage.
