Chapter 98: Missing
Sid held the giant sword in one hand, and the dagger stuck horizontally in the other, dangling under the right side of the beast's back. The bulging spine and ribs on the monster's body were clearly visible. It was the first time for Sid to have such a close and long encounter with a monster.
"Hopefully for the last time. He took a breath and said silently.
The most terrifying thing was the irregular shape of the bulge on the skin, which was too far away to see clearly, and Sid preferred not to see it himself. It turned out that the bulging pieces were actually human faces and heads, as if they were about to escape from under the skin, and everyone's expressions were clearly imprinted on the skin of the demonic beast, looking painful and frightened.
"Luckily they won't move. Sid muttered to himself with trepidation.
But as soon as he finished speaking, he saw light blue points of spiritual light begin to float out of these people's faces, and then gradually converge into a human form. Sid couldn't free up his hands, otherwise he really wanted to slap himself: "Let you talk too much." โ
Each embodied human form is the same as Zach that Ian has embodied. It's just that these figures look a little stiff, not as flexible and natural as Zach.
Sid glanced at his feet and gave up on the idea of jumping. At this moment, he found a small red umbrella embodied in his psychic power floating quietly beside him.
Humanoid spirits kept crawling out from under the epidermis of the monsters.
"I don't have time for the ball, so I'm sorry!" Sid didn't dare to stay any longer, curled up his legs and kicked on the beast, and then jumped out with all his might, jumping towards the small umbrella that floated in the air. He grabbed the handle of the umbrella, and the umbrella sank slightly and swayed, but he still maintained his balance and height.
The umbrella did not take him back to the ground, but flew upwards.
"That's right, Jinx, it's not over yet!" Sid held the handle of the umbrella in his left hand and the greatsword in his right, rising higher and higher. Suddenly, one of the remaining spirit arms of the demonic beast seemed to "see" him, and immediately rushed up like a snake.
Jinx's umbrella spun slightly, like a dandelion floating away. Sid took advantage of the rotation of the umbrella and swung his sword vigorously, barely shaking off the blow, but drifted farther away from the beast.
"Catch me!" Sid yelled, letting go of the handle.
As he fell, another umbrella appeared at his feet. As he pedaled and leaped again, new umbrellas continued to emerge in the direction leading to the beastman's hand. Each wing appeared only after Sid had leaped, and the timing and position were calculated with great precision.
Sid's every step was towards the monster, but before each step, his eyes were empty, and he didn't know where he got the courage and confidence not to step on it.
By the time he jumped away from the last umbrella, Sid was tall enough for him to leap towards the arm that was attached to the beast's head.
If that hand is the beast's head, then that arm should be its neck. Although the monsters did not have the same physiology as ordinary creatures, and some did not even need air and food, Giggs had no effect on hitting the monster's head with all his might, and now he had to try to cut off the arm that was provided for the head.
With the force under his feet, the surface of the umbrella was deeply dented under his feet, and he let out a short burst, leaped into the air, and then began to fall. The thick hands clenched the pitch-black giant sword, and attached the weight of his body to the sword power, slashing towards the "neck" of the demonic beast.
The monster's chest was hit hard, and its reaction was obviously not as good as before, only the spirit arm closest to its neck on its back stretched out, trying to resist.
Sid's pitch-black greatsword slashed through a sharp arc, severing the spirit's arm cleanly. The severed spirit body dissipated suddenly, but the head of the monster, the giant hand, got a buffer time, and immediately opened its five fingers to grasp Sid.
Sid was still falling, and he was getting faster and faster, and it was hard to adjust his position anymore. Seeing that he was about to repeat the mistake of Giggs, the palm suddenly stalled not far in front of Sid, and then quickly fell in the direction of the ground. Sid fixed his eyes and saw that several red spirit arms were wrapped around the neck of the demonic beast like tentacles, and he actually pulled it to the bottom.
Giggs's hoarse scream came from beneath the beast: "Quick!"
Sid, who had fallen rapidly towards the beast's neck, didn't have time to think about it, and he swung his greatsword again.
There was a crisp "click", and as Sid swept across the beast's neck, the pitch-black giant sword slashed under the human-like head. The manticore's sharp, thin scales blended into Michael's tungsten steel, and Ian's psychic power to craft the weapon did not disappoint his creator and master. The terrifying, eerie huge palm slammed to the ground.
Sid climbed down from the beast's body and saw that Giggs was on the ground, and the red spirit arm was sticking out of his back two stories high, strangling the beast's neck. As the huge palm was severed, his red spirit arm was slowly dissipating, and the whole person fell to his knees, not even having the strength to speak. Jinx was walking towards Ian.
The four of them surrounded the huge palm, not knowing what to say for a moment.
It was a creature they'd never seen before - if it was, there's no way to know for sure if it was a monster. The strange and evil form is like a nightmare demon entering reality, and it is chilling. What exactly did they kill? Everyone had a myriad of questions on their minds, but they couldn't ask them.
The monster was not completely dead, and its eyes slowly rolled in the palm of its hand, and finally settled on Ian's body. The scene that happened after that made these four people hate from the bottom of their hearts every time they thought about it.
"Save ...... Save...... Me, save - I ......"
In the palm of the demonic beast's hand, such a cry for help came out of nowhere, in human language, but the sound of each word seemed to come from a different person.
Warcraft are born from demonic elements, and they do not have the characteristics of life, let alone emotions. This is the consensus of the entire Tivak continent on the species of Warcraft. There has never been any record that Warcraft was able to learn human language. Does this mean that they have wisdom?
"Don't listen to its nonsense!" Sid was the first to recover from the shock, "I just saw countless human faces on the surface of its body, and maybe they were all ...... by it Devoured!"
"So?" Ian asked, his voice unusually cold.
"Maybe it's by devouring humans that it learned our language!" Sid's brain spun for what he thought was the most plausible explanation.
The crowd was silent, and no one expressed their approval or denial.
"Maybe it was originally human. Ian suddenly broke the peace.
The other three all looked at Ian, who had already raised his sword in the air, reversed it, and then quickly and without hesitation, it fell into the eyeball in the palm of his hand.
"That's the salvation of it. He watched the core glimmer in the demonic beast's body gradually dim, and said lightly.
"Ah, that's a pity, maybe that eyeball is a good material!" Giggs had just recovered a little and began to ramble again, but the air was sucked into his lungs, and he coughed violently if it had touched the wound.
"I won't process the materials for this thing for you if you take them. Ian made a decisive statement, as if killing the beast made him even angrier. He turned and walked slowly in the direction he had come, and if he was lucky, he might be able to find their carriage.
"Who is he angry with?" asked Jinx, puzzled.
"Angry with the Empire," Sid looked at Ian's back, "Let's go back and talk about it, we all need to get some rest now." Then ......"
"And?" asked Jinx.
"And think about it," Sid muttered, picking up the wounded Giggs, "think about it." โ
Sid knew Ian's experience, and he had vaguely guessed the origin of this strange monster. In this way, Ian's earlier suspicions may have been correct. The publisher of this commission is mostly related to the tragedy that Ian experienced at the time. Thinking back carefully at the description in the commission, it was obvious that the other party was very clear about the origin of this kind of magical beast that even their senior mercenaries had never heard of.
The few of them had just walked out more than ten steps when Sid suddenly heard some noise behind him. He hurriedly turned back, and his movements were so hurried that he pulled Giggs's wound again, and he screamed in pain.
Not far away, the demonic beast had completely disappeared, and most of its entire body had disappeared, and it was turning into scattered debris, mixed with volcanic ash in the air, and scattered in all directions.
"So fast," Jinx cried softly...... "so much faster than the average Warcraft would die......!" What the hell is it?"
Sid shook his head, his eyes full of confusion, and his lips muttered in the smallest increment, "Let's go." โ
As he walked, Sid's gaze gradually settled on Ian's back.
The stars are dotted, fluttering, and very beautiful. No, the point of light was just between him and Ian, closer to Ian's back, but not on his back. These points of light are like spiritual power. Sid wondered, could he see the traces of psionic power, was it possible, even if he couldn't use it?
He stopped cautiously and couldn't help but say loudly, "Wait......"
As soon as the words fell, just as Ian and Jinx turned around, a dazzling white light suddenly exploded in front of their eyes, and they couldn't see anything in an instant, as if the whole world had disappeared.
Giggs was lying behind Sid, not looking ahead, but only looking up after listening to Sid. As soon as his eyes lit up, he secretly screamed that it was not good, knowing that this was some kind of technique to seize the enemy's sight. Immediately after, he heard a muffled grunt and Jinx's screams in front of him.
"Jinx?" Giggs fell off Sid's back, "Talk, what's wrong?!"
"Enemy attack!" Jinx exclaimed eagerly from the front, "Ian has been attacked!"
When they regained their sight, they found that there were many spirit-made umbrellas scattered around themโthe defensive ring that Jinx had set up as best he could in an instant. But time was too short to wrap them all in. At this time, these spirit umbrellas were slowly dissipating as their vision gradually became clearer. Sid fell to the ground, seemingly fainting.
Ian, however, is gone.
