Chapter 105: Rapid Development (Part II)
Now the war is a mechanized war, a digital war.
Since World War II, the role of oil in warfare has been irreplaceable. Without science and technology to drill oil wells and science and technology oil refineries, Li Lan's so-called mechanized troops would not have been able to be formed at all.
Without the two major units of the Red Police base, it would have been extremely difficult for him to achieve oil self-sufficiency.
If we talk about who has helped Li Lan the most among the red police units, under the current circumstances, it is none other than drilling oil wells with science and technology. Because it can not only solve military difficulties, but also bring a lot of benefits to people's livelihood.
In terms of military construction, the work of conscription has not stopped for a moment.
After the construction of the 30 barracks was completed, the call-up time that would have taken 30 minutes had been shortened to 15 minutes. At the end of a day, nearly 100 Chinese soldiers were drafted, and in three days, the framework of an infantry battalion could be formed.
From the time of the promotion to the present, Li Lan has more than 6,000 troops, of which 2,000 are soldiers with armored ability, and the troops formed are all composed according to the establishment of the infantry battalion.
At present, in the territory, there are also two fully formed infantry battalions, covering only a thousand troops. For the remaining more than 3,000 infantry, Li Lan simply asked them to temporarily form a light infantry regiment, which was a temporary formation.
These 6,000 troops are all Chinese soldiers who cost 500 base funds. According to the division of arms, Li Lan uniformly equipped them with the same weapons, all Type 97 assault rifles, and the armored troops chose micro charges as weapons.
Individual equipment and grenades have been in the squad and crowded out support firepower. Li Lan also spared no expense to build. In the infantry squad of the infantry battalion, in addition to the squad machine guns. It was also equipped with a forty-mm rifled grenade.
On the firearms and ammunition page, Li Lan took a fancy to the MGL-140 rifle grenade gun currently in service with the US military. Popularly known as the "infantry artillery".
After World War II, "fighting close combat and fighting firepower" has become the only way for infantry in various countries to fight. Therefore, it is extremely important to develop high-powered individual weapons suitable for use in narrow melee environments. The MGL rifle is an example of an "infantry gun" suitable for infantry melee use, which can fill the gap between the firepower of a grenade and a heavy grenade machine gun.
As a matter of fact, military experts from various countries have analyzed the combat use of weapons and equipment in previous low-intensity conflicts, and found that when common small-scale mobile combat detachments are fighting at close range, there is often a problem of insufficient firepower density, and the grenades carried by soldiers can only be thrown at most 30-40 meters. The effective range of large automatic grenade launchers (large and bulky, which can only be fired on vehicle platforms) configured at the platoon level is 500-1700 meters, and the MGL rifle grenade gun fills this firepower gap, enabling infantry detachments on "search-destroy" missions to quickly output fierce and tight self-defense fire when encountering enemy ambushes, covering troops to move into relatively safe positions.
In fact, the MGL is already a mature weapon in the "year of establishment", it was installed in the South African Defense Force in 1983, and has participated in the Angolan war, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) war and the Libyan civil war, and it does not account for the infantry squad. It can also significantly increase the advantages of individual firepower, which is welcomed by combat troops.
The most distinctive feature of the MGL in structure is the use of a revolver-like retort-type reloading system, with six rounds of 40 mm caliber grenades housed in a rotating magazine, which is reloaded by a pre-tightened coil spring. When the soldier loads his ammunition, he first closes the insurance. A hook under the barrel pulls out the runner shaft, and the xiangyou rotates the carriage to expose the chamber on the runner. Then rotate the wheel counterclockwise to tighten the coil spring. After that, the grenade can be loaded into the chamber. After reloading. Rotate the bracket to the left to close the runner and insert the runner shaft into the reset. MGL is reloaded.
When firing, the infantry first opens the manual safety above the MGL grip, and when the trigger is pulled, the firing pin fires the grenade primer. When the warhead passes through the air guide hole above the barrel, part of the gunpowder gas pushes the piston through the air guide hole, drives the ratchet lock, releases the rotating chamber, and the rotating chamber rotates under the action of the coil spring until the next chamber is aligned with the launch tube.
Now that the number of fighters has been used, they can already shoot twice in a second, in a row at a target at a distance of 400 meters. And the accuracy of shooting at 150 meters is comparable to that of a sniper rifle. The MGL can fire several types of 40 mm grenades, among which the aggregate fragmentation anti-personnel shells can destroy both light armored vehicles and their occupants.
Compared to the single-shot gun-mounted grenade launchers used by soldiers today, the MGL has a combat rate of fire of up to 12-15 rounds per minute, and the fire output strength of one MGL is equivalent to that of a gun-mounted grenade launcher equipped with an entire infantry platoon.
Of course, this howitzer is not as advanced as the American M32 howitzer, it cannot be equipped with an optical sight, nor can it be equipped with a night vision device, and can only be aimed at with the simplest machinery. However, this weapon has another benefit, that is, it is very suitable for the battlefield in hot and dry weather, and it is also very convenient to use.
The existence of the barracks, in addition to the daily non-stop recruitment of soldiers, also requires the number of engineers to be replenished. In the last month or so, the engineers, who originally only had five hundred, beckoned another five hundred in order to meet the construction needs of the territory, and even the number of military dogs continued to recruit two hundred.
However, it is a pity that after thousands of people were recruited, no hero units were seen, and now there is only one hero unit in Hofmand. Of course, Li Lan didn't gain nothing, he also found a few talents in it, and as soon as he came out, he was a school officer and had the ability to be a middle-level commander, which can be regarded as a consolation prize.
Li Lan also has such a large number of troops for the first time, if he wants to form a terrorist organization, the number of people is completely sufficient, if he is determined to become a pirate, it is enough to be the king and hegemon. However, although this amount is quite a lot, it is only a small part of the metrics for upgrading to advanced permissions.
You must know that armored troops are not counted in the number of mercenaries, and armored soldiers have indicators of armored soldiers, which should not be confused. According to his understanding of the advanced authority indicators, in terms of the source of troops, it will take at least 30,000 people to meet the standard. Naturally, mobilized soldiers who are not seen by the base cannot be counted in this.
Therefore, Li Lan now has six or seven thousand troops, but he doesn't feel that he has anything to be proud of.
As for the armored brigade, Li Lan, who currently has only one armored battalion, is even more helpless about this. To be able to be an armored brigade, it must be organized into at least three tank battalions, plus one or two infantry battalions or self-propelled artillery battalions, which is about the same. And two armored brigades, at least six tank battalions are needed, and if there are no six tank battalions, then it is better to simply call them motorized infantry brigades.
At present, there are thirty-five tank factories on the base, five more than the number of barracks. The time savings in construction are similar, and both can reduce the foundation time by half.
A Rhino tank, which was supposed to take a day to build, now takes only twelve hours. An infantry fighting vehicle, which used to take six hours, now takes only three hours. The only pity is that only one class can be built at a time, and after the selected Rhino tank, this can only be built, even if there are many tank factories. And if you want to change to another type of vehicle unit, you can only wait for the construction of the previous one to be completed, in addition to the pause.
Originally, Li Lan thought that as long as more chariot factories and barracks were built, and the electricity kept up, the time for producing things would be greatly reduced. When the tank factory became thirty-five, and thirty, the production time did not decrease again.
To this, the assistant's explanation is that this is the current limit. It remains to be seen whether the construction time can be reduced in the future.
Li Lan, who was helpless, could only accept it silently. The rhythm that can be made in seconds in fantasy is basically unattainable now.
At present, six of the twelve high-tech drilling wells have been directly converted into base funds, and now, the daily capital income of the base has reached the advanced authority upgrade index, and it has exceeded 20,000.
The cost of each Rhino tank is 80,000, and with the ammunition and armor produced, the price will increase by at least 10,000. Moreover, at present, there is no maintenance factory at the base, and it is impossible to produce parts for tanks and cars, so Li Lan also needs to take out a few tanks to dismantle the east wall and repair the west wall. The same is true for armored vehicles, and Li Lan can only rely on this very helpless method in terms of logistics.
Among them, the biggest losses are the tank barrels and tracks, and after a month or two of training, three tanks have been dismantled and used to replace parts. As for those tanks that broke down in a big way, Li Lan simply sealed them up and repaired them after the maintenance factory came out in the future. Maintenance personnel, engineers are competent enough, but who made him, now simply does not have the ability to produce parts. No matter how many engineers there are, there are no replacement parts, and they can only look at the sky and sigh.
Armored troops and infantry are the basis for the current combat effectiveness, and in the absence of an air force and navy, he can only raise the combat effectiveness of the army as much as possible.
Now, for the needs of construction, he has not produced Rhino tanks and infantry fighting vehicles for four or five days, and has been vigorously producing construction machinery and equipment. This time, when Zeng Zhihua returned to China, Li Lan also handed him a long list and helped him buy it at a real price. Basically, they are the necessary materials and tools for building a territory, but Li Lan wants to pay for cash on delivery.
These days, Farah began to change the direction of his work, in addition to helping the territory publicity, he began to work full-time as an arms dealer, from infantry fighting vehicles to various firearms and bullets, as well as various types of individual heavy weapons and artillery.
Li Lan began to accumulate real currency, and no matter how valuable the base funds were, they could not be turned into real currency in an instant, and real currency could not be separated from them for a moment. Therefore, Li Lan also began to build the road of arms dealers. Now he has a lot of customers to face, from the Somali government army and rebels in central Somalia to South Africa.
